Volume 2: Strolling with the Wind, Chapter 33: Meeting a Hot Girl
Over ten days later, Chu Tianyu, sitting on a long-distance bus heading north, watched the lush summer scenery pass by outside the window. He couldn’t help but recall the moment when he signed the “agreement” with Qin Nianran.
To his surprise, as soon as he agreed, Qin Nianran suddenly produced two contracts out of thin air, just like magic. Upon taking a look, he found the terms written exactly as she had said! He was left speechless—there was only one word to describe it: “amazing”!
With a mix of amusement and frustration, he signed his name on both contracts, thinking to himself, “Grandpa, you really found a ‘great’ wife for Tianyu!”
Though he signed the contracts, he felt reluctant to be manipulated like this. As for the “rights” mentioned in the other contracts, Chu Tianyu saw no need to be polite—just do what needed to be done! If the agreement allowed them to get engaged right away, then fine, he would experience these “rights” first and enjoy the perks…
The decision of both parties was quickly approved by their respective families. Three days later, in one of Shanghai’s busiest areas, an entire hotel was rented to hold a “simple” engagement ceremony. Only a few vice mayors, department heads, and other notable figures attended—less than two hundred tables in total…
The ceremony was successful, lively, and smooth. Qin Nianran behaved gracefully and showed great affection toward him. It was truly a shame she didn’t act in movies!
But only the parties involved truly knew the real feelings behind it.
Chu Tianyu thought it absurd that he, at just eighteen, had gotten engaged in such a hasty and confusing manner, already having a fiancée. He had spent his childhood practicing with his masters, and it wasn’t until high school that he truly understood human relationships. He had read a lot about interactions with the opposite sex from books and the internet and already had some strategies: act from emotion, but stay within reason, and let things take their natural course. Yet his grandfather’s arrangement made him eager to get to know Qin Nianran better. Attraction between the sexes was inevitable, especially with a unique girl like her. Although his current state of mind wasn’t yet enough to make him obsessively pursue her, there was no reason to completely reject her either. After all, saying she had no appeal to him would be self-deception.
But Chu Tianyu also didn’t want to complicate this relationship. She had her own agreements, and he had his own plans. They would just stick to the original plan—aside from those special “abilities,” he would simply act normally, without demanding anything more. Fate was predestined, and what outcome this “perfect” marriage arranged since childhood would ultimately bring became unimportant…
“Screech~ Screech~” The harsh sound of emergency braking abruptly interrupted Chu Tianyu’s thoughts. Startled, he instinctively used his skills to steady his body. But the other passengers weren’t so lucky. There weren’t many passengers in the bus, and seats weren’t fully occupied; many were lying down, occupying two seats each. The sudden brake caused the bus to roll forward and crash onto the ground. Immediately, cries of pain filled the bus, and those who reacted quickly began cursing the driver for driving such a lousy vehicle.
Surprisingly, the loudest curses came from the driver at the front: “Damn it! How do you drive? Are you trying to die?”
It was then that the passengers realized the situation on the road. Chu Tianyu also stood up and looked ahead. A red luxury sports car was lying across the road in front of their bus, with smoke coming from its front. It seemed the car had malfunctioned while overtaking, causing it to veer sideways. Fortunately, the bus stopped in time and avoided a collision—it was just a close call.
Soon, with the driver’s cursing, the bus was slowly brought to a stop by the roadside. Two girls got out of the sports car. The driver was about to explode in anger and curse again, but when he saw the girls’ appearance, he swallowed his profanity.
The two girls signaled the driver to open the door. When they boarded the bus, everyone could clearly see their appearance and attire. Silence fell over the bus as everyone stared at these unexpected guests.
One of them was tall and appeared young. A bright red form-fitting dress accentuated her graceful figure, complemented by her snow-white, delicate skin and perfect features, including sharply arched eyebrows. She exuded a unique, beautiful, and wild charm. What was most strange was that her eyes appeared light blue, different from ordinary people, suggesting she might be of mixed heritage. The girl beside her was about the same age, also dressed tightly, with a delicate and cute appearance, mischievous eyes, and a ponytail tied casually at the back, full of energy.
As the door opened for the two to get on, a wave of hot air hit them, and the sudden appearance of these two stunning girls only added to the suffocating atmosphere.
“Ma’am, is there something wrong? How did you drive like that just now? If it weren’t for me braking in time…” The driver, realizing what had happened, immediately recalled the near-miss and asked while expressing doubt.
But seeing the girls’ gorgeous outfits and calm demeanor, along with the expensive sports car ahead, he softened his tone.
The blue-eyed girl didn’t respond. With a wave of her hand, two hundred-dollar bills appeared in front of the driver, accompanied by her magnetic, pleasant voice: “Drive us to the highway service center ahead!”
Without waiting for the driver’s reaction, she placed the money down and began scanning the interior of the bus, frowning as if unaccustomed to the air inside.
Those who had taken off their shoes and were lying across the seats quickly pulled their smelly feet back when their eyes met hers.
“Cousin, it’s so smelly here!” the girl with pigtails said, wrinkling her nose.
“Let’s find a seat first. We can endure it until we get there. I’ve already contacted someone…”
By then, the bus had started moving. Since no real collision had occurred, and thanks to the beautiful girls and the two hundred dollars, the driver stopped complaining.
Chu Tianyu on the bus suddenly had a bad feeling. Sure enough, when the blue-eyed girl’s gaze fell on him, it paused briefly, as if she had found her target. She then pulled her cousin over and headed straight for him.
“Young man, could you give us your seat?” the blue-eyed girl asked directly as she approached Chu Tianyu.
Chu Tianyu’s intuition proved correct. Although there was an empty seat behind him, surrounded by several pairs of smelly feet, his area seemed the least bad. Yet he wondered why they chose him out of all the seats.
Without time to think further, since those two girls boarded, they had become the center of attention, with dozens of pairs of eyes staring at them. Chu Tianyu disliked such selfish rich girls who ignored others’ feelings and didn’t want to talk to them. He packed up his bag, stood up, and went to sit in the back.
Chu Tianyu’s actions surprised the two girls greatly, especially the blue-eyed one. Based on her experience, such a young guy, faced with such a situation, would surely blush or look flattered and quickly give up his seat. He did give up his seat promptly, but his calm expression, though showing no signs of dissatisfaction or disdain, gave her the impression that something was off. However, seeing his dull, honest look, she thought he might have already been stunned. With that thought, she resolved to accept it. After sitting down, she quickly discussed what had just happened with the other girl nearby, talking about how their sports car had developed problems after only reaching a speed of just over 390 kilometers per hour—how terrible—that, compared to other sports cars that had superior performance and faster acceleration, etc. Chu Tianyu, sitting in the back seat, listened with a furrowed brow and shook his head silently.
