Chapter 341: Ada’s Situation

Sognar’s words made Rod’s heart skip a beat. He had sensed something was wrong when he saw her last night, but hadn’t delved into it at the time. To his surprise, there indeed was a problem.
“What’s going on with the opposition?” Without pursuing Sognar’s earlier words, Rod turned to Lilith and asked.
“There’s unrest within the opposition. Well… you know Ada’s identity—she’s the princess of the opposition and one of its heirs, though not the only one. A few years ago, Ada disappeared without explanation. At that time, almost everyone considered Eirwen the heir, and Ada was gradually forgotten.
One day, Ada returned. After all, by order of succession, she remains the first heir. So, upon her return, she gained support from many and naturally came back into everyone’s spotlight.
Eirwen and Ada are sisters, twins. On the surface, they say nothing, but everyone can guess what’s in their minds.
Still, one must admire Ada’s ability. Even after being away for years, she quickly regained the upper hand and seized most of the power. Eirwen had to disguise herself as a result.
But now it’s different. Eirwen can no longer hold back. Recently, rumors spread within the opposition suggesting that they intend to let Ada take over. Naturally, Eirwen can’t keep tolerating this any longer and has begun her long-planned actions.
On the surface, the opposition seems calm, but beneath it all, things are turbulent, and a major crisis could erupt at any moment. Ada’s situation isn’t good. It’s surprising how well Eirwen has hidden herself—over the years, through secret actions, she’s managed to win over half of the members’ support. Most importantly, she’s gained support from many families. It’s said even the pro-war faction supports her as the heir!” As she spoke, Lilith looked at Rod worriedly, fearing he might do something reckless. In their eyes, the relationship between Ada and Rod was extraordinary.
“Is that so?” Rod murmured deeply, frowning. He had actually expected this situation to erupt someday; he just didn’t think it would happen so soon and at such an inopportune time.

Yesterday, I even saw Aida and Eileen arriving together at the Black Phoenix clan. I never would have imagined that such things had already happened in secret. Now, Rod could understand why Aida had said those things to him last night, and why he could sense a sense of heaviness and worry on her face. With such things happening, it’s hard for anyone to stay calm.

“Are you okay? Do you plan to…” Seeing Rod’s grim expression as he lowered his head in thought, Sognar asked worriedly.

“If you plan to help Aida, perhaps we dragons can be of some use!” Lilith said softly from the side, though with a hint of doubt. After all, this was a matter concerning an external clan. It was not convenient for them to get involved. Lilith would likely face many difficulties if she tried to help.

“No need. I’ll handle this myself!” No one expected Rod’s reply to be like this. He would solve it himself—how? Did he really think he could handle it alone just because the opposition was weak? If that were the case, the opposition wouldn’t have been able to survive in the Source of Darkness for thousands of years.

“Don’t worry, nothing will go wrong. Well, if there’s nothing else, I’m leaving. I still need to go see Lucy!” After making up his mind, Rod gradually calmed down and smiled at Sognar and Lilith.

“Feel free to come to us if you need any help!” Seeing Rod’s determined look, the two knew it was pointless to say more. With a sigh, they spoke meaningfully.

“You plan to talk to Lucy about the Nether Hellfire, right?” Lilith, who had thought carefully, asked Rod.

“I’ll go ask!” Rod said without any hesitation.

“That makes sense. Lucy should be able to help a lot. But the most important ones are probably their clan leader and those enforcement elders. They need to agree! If not, don’t force it!” Since Rod needed the help of the Nether Hellfire, Lilith knew they must have something that could greatly assist and enhance Rod, so she offered her advice.

Rod was aware of this as well. The clan leader alone couldn’t make a decision; this matter also depended on the enforcement elders. The enforcement elders were the most hidden power in every major clan, standing above the clan leader, acting somewhat like a cabinet and imposing constraints on the clan leader.

Rod knew that if he wanted to use the Nether Hellfire to improve his cultivation, he would have to deal with these powerful enforcement elders. Their strength was likely already at the Yin Yellow realm.

“Well then, we won’t disturb you any longer. We still have things to attend to, so we’re leaving!” Pulling away Sognar, who still wanted to say more, Lilith bid farewell.
Watching the two leave, Rod gave a faint wry smile before turning toward the front yard.
“Shouldn’t we tell him about that matter?” After leaving the yard, by the small lake, Sognar frowned and said to Lilith.
“No need. If we can handle this on our own, we shouldn’t worry him. Does he have fewer responsibilities than us?” With a sigh, Lilith said bitterly, knowing how much pressure Rod was under at that moment.
……
“Netherhell Fire? I need to discuss this with my father!” After finding Lucy, Rod immediately explained his purpose, hoping she could offer some advice.
Hearing Rod’s idea, Lucy said helplessly that even she couldn’t assist, as the family rules were strict. Even those within the clan found it hard to obtain the help of the Netherhell Fire, let alone outsiders.
All she could do was intercede on his behalf; whether it would succeed ultimately depended on her father and the enforcement elders’ decisions.
Leading Rod to the core area of the clan, Lucy relayed his request to her father.
As expected, upon hearing Rod’s demand, Lucy’s father, the leader of the Black Phoenix Clan, Moke, frowned slightly. “Impossible. The Netherhell Mountains are sacred to our Black Phoenix Clan, and the Netherhell Fire is crucial to our survival! There’s nothing I can do about this!”
Hearing Moke’s words, disappointment flashed across Rod’s face, while Lucy grew anxious. “Father, isn’t there any hope at all? You know how much Brother Rod has helped our Black Phoenix Clan. He even saved Lucy’s life. Can’t you show some leniency?”
Seeing Lucy’s pleading, Moke’s expression darkened further. He looked at the two with a bitter smile. Of course he understood Lucy’s thoughts and feelings, as well as how much Rod had helped them! Not to mention, Rod’s current level already spoke volumes about his future potential.
Helping such a person would only bring benefits to the Black Phoenix Clan. But everything else could be discussed—except the Netherhell Fire. It was vital to their survival. Even if he agreed, he doubted anyone within the clan would consent.

“Father, Lucy pleads with you—just help Brother Rod this once. From now on, Lucy will train hard. Besides, without Brother Rod, how could Lucy have reached the Yin Huang realm so quickly!” Lucy began to use her usual coquettish tactics to plead for Rod, leaving Moke at a loss—he knew exactly what kind of person his daughter was! He turned and gave Rod a meaningful look, saying, “Well, I’ll consult the Law-Enforcing Elders to see what they think!” “Really?” Lucy was overjoyed. “Why would I lie to you?” Moke replied seriously, sighing inwardly that daughters grow up too fast. “Then thank you, Chief Moke!” Rod said gratefully, though he didn’t understand why Moke had suddenly changed his mind. “You’re welcome. Lucy has received your help many times. Now that Brother Rod needs assistance, our Black Phoenix clan will do our utmost to help! But this matter is quite complex, so I hope Brother Rod can understand.” Moke also spoke politely. Taking Lucy away from his room, Rod’s mood improved slightly as he smiled—finally, he saw some hope. Lucy was equally happy; she wouldn’t back down from helping Rod. She hoped it would work, and she thought about going to the Law-Enforcing Elder to try again, as otherwise it might not be effective. With their own thoughts, after some small talk, Rod left first, looking forward to the arrival of the Scorpion King clan. He wondered who could have made Locke say such things about him, feeling a hint of anticipation and excitement. Meanwhile, in the room, Moke sat solemnly at his seat, deep in thought. After a long while, a faint smile appeared on his lips. “Perhaps this is a good idea~!” he murmured, then stood up and headed outside, with a barely visible smile on his face. Anyone who knew him well would be shocked—Chief Moke was known for his seriousness. When had anyone seen him like this? Could it be that something good had happened? … As he thought this, just as he reached his room, Rod heard Sognar rushing towards him. Thinking something serious had happened, he asked anxiously, “What’s wrong?” “What else could it be? You’ve been hiding so much from us, you damned guy! Come with me to the hall now!” Without hesitation, Sognar pulled Rod along toward the front yard.

This only made Rod even more puzzled. What was being hidden from him? It seemed like something serious—could it be related to the Hellfire? It probably wouldn’t be answered so soon. For the time being, Rod was confused and could only let Sognar pull him along as they rushed toward the front yard.
