Chapter 196: Highlighting the Super Strong One
“Die!” A cold shout rang out, accompanied by the sound of something cutting through the air. That foot now resembled a mountain, swinging down toward Rod’s head! It grew larger and larger; Rod felt as if his world was about to become peaceful, and a hint of relief appeared on his face.
Yet, that smile was filled with desolation and sorrow, along with a trace of reluctance and unwillingness.
“Don’t be so arrogant!” A faint, calm voice came through. A man stood about ten centimeters off the ground, taking seemingly slow steps, but in the blink of an eye, he was right in front of the two of them. Whether it was slow or fast, he threw a punch at the middle-aged man.
In shock, the sudden appearance of this man and his attack threw the middle-aged man into panic. He quickly retracted his foot that was about to step on Rod and flew backward over ten meters like a swallow, barely avoiding that fierce punch.
“Who are you? Why are you against me? This man is the mortal enemy of my Nash family and the Purple-Winged Thunder Eagle clan. Please back off and stop meddling!” The middle-aged man glared darkly at the suddenly appearing man, who appeared to be around fifty years old. His muscular build gave off an explosive aura. He had a short, almost bald haircut. He wore a simple coarse linen vest and short trousers, along with straw sandals, giving him a rustic appearance.
Yet, the middle-aged man dared not underestimate this strong man. Moving at such speed seemed beyond his ability—he thought only someone at his father’s level could do such a thing. That seemingly simple punch carried immense power. If he hadn’t dodged, he would have died for sure. He couldn’t recall ever offending such a person; the only possibility was that this guy knew Rod from before.
“Nash family? Hmph… Now you’re getting bold. And those youngsters from the Purple-Winged Thunder Eagle clan—what, have you all turned upside down? Even if this kid is your mortal enemy, even if he slept with your mother and killed your father, making you his servant, you still can’t kill him today!” With a cold snort, the strong man’s words made the head of the Nash family turn red and gasp for breath, his anger almost exploding on the spot.
“Elder, don’t speak like that!” The man replied coldly with a snort.
“Are you the head of the Nash family? It’s Boshe, right? How dare a mere subordinate threaten me? I’m right here—let’s fight if you must! I’m ready!” With a smirk, the burly man continued in astonishing words.
“Who the hell are you?” Boshe asked, his face darkening as his identity was revealed.
At that moment, another sound of breaking wind came from afar, and several figures rushed toward this place swiftly. In the blink of an eye, they appeared: “It seems quite a few people have come today. Kid, you’ve gotten into big trouble, haven’t you?” The man asked in a low voice, looking at Rod lying barely alive on the ground.
Frowning, he said, “His injuries are serious, but it’s okay. His constitution should keep him from dying right now!”
“Rod!”
“Kid!”
Before the figures arrived, two cries of shock were heard. Immediately afterward, two figures rushed to Rod’s side. Seeing him barely alive on the ground, they shouted in anger after initial panic.
“Nash family, you…” Waiting for Boshe, Sognar roared loudly.
Indeed, the two who had arrived were Sognar and Lilith, who had been chasing after them all this time. Seeing Rod’s condition, they were nearly frantic.
“Don’t worry, he’s not dead. Luckily, I arrived in time. Otherwise, things would have been troublesome!” The burly man said with a smirk and a laugh.
“Melon? Is that you? Bastard, this guy isn’t dead yet?” Hearing the burly man’s words, Sognar and Lilith finally recognized his appearance. The next moment, Sognar couldn’t help but shout loudly.
“If this kid isn’t dead, it’s not that easy for me to die! Alright, there are more and more people—this is troublesome. You hold off those guys while I take this kid away. If we delay any longer, he might really die!” The burly man said unhappily, rolling his eyes.
Turning to look at Lilith, Sognar seemed to be seeking her opinion. Melon had a strange temper, and it was unclear why he would help Rod. Could they trust him to take Rod away? With more and more people approaching, it would indeed be troublesome if they tried to take someone away. Only that old trickster could pull this off.
“Then we’ll leave it to you, senior!” After pondering for a moment, Lilith bowed slightly in gratitude. It seemed this was the only way forward. It appeared he was definitely harmless to Rod. If he were harmful, not just Rod, but even ten Rods would have already died.
Watching the three of them with a dark expression, Boshe inwardly groaned. If only he had acted sooner. Now, with these three guys around, he was alone and weak. Not to mention killing that kid, even protecting himself was difficult.
For now, the only option is to hope that the others will arrive as soon as possible—the Purple-Winged Thunder Eagles, the Mi Jiao clan, and the demons. Once they show up, things will be much easier to handle. In less than a moment, two more people arrived, and then one after another showed up, until more than a dozen people had gathered in no time.
“Hmm, you’re all here? Well then, I’ll take this kid away first. You guys can discuss things among yourselves!” Seeing these people gradually surround him in the middle, he glanced at Rod, carelessly picked him up like a sack, and slung him over his shoulder. His rough manner sent chills through those around him. Rod, who was already seriously injured, would likely not survive such treatment.
“Friend, that’s a bit excessive. This kid is everyone’s target. It seems unfair for you to take him away alone!” A guy appeared out of nowhere and stood in front of the old man about to leave, speaking calmly as if to stop him from leaving.
The old man narrowed his eyes at the man in front of him. “Who are you?”
“I’m from the Mi Jiao clan—Jiao Xu!” He declared his identity with a look of satisfaction. His eyes showed greed as he stared at Rod.
More than half of the people present shared the same thought—they also wanted Rod. Not to kill him, but to study this kid! Reaching such a level at such a young age could only be described as genius. Yet his survival through the God-Destroying Thunder Calamity made people think even more. Moreover, he had escaped that devastating calamity and even gained something from it last time. What benefits would he gain this time? No one knew! If it was luck once, repeated occurrences were something entirely different. It was said that this kid even ignored the terrifying magic “Thunder Nine Heavens” that the Purple-Winged Thunder Eagles took pride in, which made many envious. If they could master the secret of ignoring thunder magic, their strength and status would undoubtedly increase greatly.
Especially for the Mi Jiao clan, which was allied with the Purple-Winged Thunder Eagles clan—if they could uncover the mystery behind ignoring thunder magic, then the Purple-Winged Thunder Eagles would have no choice but to obey them.
“The Mi Jiao clan? Jiao Xu? What kind of weird name? It’s hard to pronounce! I have no mood to deal with you. Get lost! Otherwise, I’ll make you my mount. I heard the Mi Jiao clan is fast—probably not worse than the Dragon clan!” The old man frowned again, his words nearly making everyone spit out in anger.
“To capture this Jiaoxu as a mount—maybe only he would dare say such a thing. Just look at Jiaoxu’s gloomy expression to see.”
“What, not moving? So you want to be my mount? But I really despise your Mi Jiao clan! Not to mention they’re inferior to the Dragon and Black Phoenix clans, even the Scorpion King clan is better than you. Boring, pointless—get out of the way! Otherwise, I’ll skin you to make clothes. I haven’t gotten any new clothes in years!!” With gleaming eyes, as if struck by a good idea, Meilong said excitedly to Jiaoxu.
“Bastard, you… die!” Filled with rage, Jiaoxu’s face turned red, he was panting heavily, almost boiling with fury. A few members of the Mi Jiao clan also grew dark-faced and immediately attacked the old man along with Jiaoxu.
“Trying to stop a train with your arms—overestimating your own strength. I’ll spare you today, but I’ll return someday to skin you for clothes!” With a cold snort and blazing eyes, no trace of his earlier teasing remained. Meilong lunged out like a fierce tiger!
In a flash, he disappeared from everyone’s sight. Then, an overwhelming force descended from the sky, as if the entire heavens were collapsing downward. Its power was terrifying. The few who had been ready to watch the spectacle realized the severity of the situation—this wasn’t just an ordinary strongman; it was a terrifying existence. No one could claim they could do what he did, and yet he did it so silently.
“He’s broken through!” Even Sognar said in shock to Lilith.
“Yes, he is! Extremely strong!” Lilith nodded seriously. This old man was far stronger than a thousand years ago—no wonder he’d survived until now.
At that moment, the faces of the Mi Jiao clan members turned pale with terror. Trapped, they realized they couldn’t move, finally understanding the horror of this strongman!
“Supergod level!”
“He’s even reached the realm of Yin-Yang and Xuanyang!” Whispers and gasps of shock filled the air as everyone stared at each other in disbelief.
On the other side, Nash Clan Patriarch Bosh was also pale with fear. What if they had really attacked that old man earlier? He might already be dead now. How could they afford to offend someone at that level? Even a late-stage godly warrior would be nothing in front of them—just a child, easily defeated!
For a moment, the scene was utterly silent. Everyone had given up on the plan to seize Rod, leaving only the three members of the Mi Jiao clan frozen in place, their faces pale and unable to move. The situation was quiet and eerie.
