Chapter 171: A Date

Hearing the Sword Spirit’s words, Rod was stunned, his gaze filled with confusion. He quickly searched his mind and soon found the key points for practicing sword techniques that the Sword Spirit had left for him. After reviewing them, his face was filled with shock and amazement.
It was then he realized that although he had been practicing martial arts for over a year, his understanding of sword techniques was still far from sufficient—actually, it was still at a beginner level. Yet, the information he had just read taught him a great deal and helped him gain deeper insights.
Based on the records and what the Sword Spirit had previously said, he sighed. He knew he really had to start from the very beginning. Only by doing so could he hope to achieve some success and make breakthroughs. After all, how could he easily improve a sword technique that others considered perfect, a technique created by a top master and refined over generations?
A cool breeze blew, bringing Rod back to reality. Unnoticed, it had already become completely dark; night had covered the land, with a crescent moon hanging high in the sky, casting a silvery glow that gave the scene a sense of timelessness.
This moon must have witnessed the rise and fall of countless dynasties, the emergence and downfall of many powerful warriors, and endured countless storms and changes. Could it also be witnessing his own growth and fortunes? At the thought of this, Rod couldn’t help but feel amused.
It was getting late, so he headed back to his dormitory to study the materials he had seen earlier and prepare more thoroughly. Everything had to be done step by step—there was no rush in such matters.
……
The night passed in silence. In the morning, Rod was pulled out of his meditation by shouts coming from outside his door. After stretching lazily, he went to open the door only to see John standing there in formal attire, wearing an excited smile. Kenny was also with him.
Both of them were dressed very stylishly, which puzzled Rod. Was it some kind of holiday? Otherwise, why would they be dressed like that?
After thinking for a while without coming up with an answer, he couldn’t help but ask, “What’s going on? Why are you two here so early? No one would believe it if you said it was nothing.”

“Hehe, Captain, you haven’t forgotten, right? You promised to take me to Senior Linda’s date today. It’s getting late, let’s hurry!” Hearing Rod’s words, John grinned slyly and spoke quickly, afraid that Rod might change his mind.

It was only then that Rod realized what was going on. No wonder these two were so eager and dressed so formally—there was more to it than it seemed.

Looking at Kenny beside him, Rod’s gaze took on a strange expression. So this guy was the same kind of person too? This left Rod both puzzled and slightly surprised.

“Captain, ignore him. Ugh, he’s been pestering me in my room since early in the morning. Really, the Captain only promised to take me, not you. Why join in? Captain, ignore him, let’s go!” Seeing Rod’s look, John hurriedly explained while complaining about Kenny.

Kenny, however, didn’t seem too concerned. Perhaps he had gotten used to John’s temperament over time, or maybe he simply ignored John’s words and expressions. He stared straight at Rod, seemingly seeking his approval.

“Alright, since we’re here, let’s go together. It’s still early—there’s no need to rush!” Checking the time, Rod asked with a wry smile. It was only around eight o’clock; many people hadn’t even had breakfast yet. Was it really necessary to go out for lunch so soon? He feared people would laugh at him.

“It’s not early anymore, Captain. Look, it will take some time to get there. Besides, Senior Linda is a woman—she won’t act casually on a date. It’s her first public date too, so she’ll need time to get ready. As gentlemen, we must wait for her. Then we can go eat. I’ve already reserved a table on the second floor of the school cafeteria—the best one! Let’s hurry, or we might be late!” John was really anxious, pulling Rod along eagerly.

“Let go… I need to get ready first. Do you really want me to go like this?” Breaking free from John’s grip, Rod said with a wry smile.

It was only then that John noticed Rod was still in casual pajamas, looking sleepy and clearly unwashed.

“Then hurry up, we’re waiting for you!” They had no choice but to say this helplessly upon seeing this situation.
Under the dual urging of John and Kenny, it took less than half an hour of packing and organizing before everything was ready.
Rod’s outfit, bought in Breeze City, really surprised John and Kenny—how had they not noticed that their captain was such a handsome guy after being together for so long? This made them regret giving him so much time; after all, his good looks clearly overshadowed theirs. Thinking of this, their mood instantly soured.
However, when Rod told them to set off, their spirits lifted again. The idea of soon having lunch with their dream partners filled them with excitement.
With their constant urging, the originally half-hour journey was completed in less than twenty minutes, as they practically ran to the outside of the medical room.
It was only then that Rod truly understood what John had said to him the previous day—indeed, the medical room was a very busy place. Even early in the morning, there was already a queue. It was obvious that many people were faking illnesses, and whispers could be heard in the crowd, most of which revolved around Linda.
When they saw Rod arrive, those people were slightly stunned but quickly recognized this recently famous guy and made way for him. Under such circumstances, they managed to enter the medical room fairly smoothly.
Led by John, they reached Linda’s location without any detours. At that moment, Linda was carefully organizing some documents, looking quite focused.
“Hehe, still busy? There’s a big crowd outside waiting for your help!” Rod joked upon seeing this.
“You’re here. Hehe, it’s early. Most of those people outside are just faking illnesses. Don’t worry, we have enough staff here and won’t neglect any real patients. Well, wait a moment—I need to finish this stuff first before we go!” Linda was slightly surprised by Rod and his companions’ arrival and said with a smile. However, Rod’s stylish appearance surprised her a bit. She realized she hadn’t noticed this during their days together and blushed slightly before quickly turning to walk inside.

A long wait—just as John had said, waiting was a painful thing. It took a full hour before Linda reappeared.
A dress of pure white highlighted her graceful figure; her fair skin seemed so delicate it seemed water could be squeezed out of it, giving people an almost irresistible urge to admire her. Even Rod was momentarily stunned, as the scene was no different from the first time he saw Lucia—her beauty was truly breathtaking.
“Alright, what are you still standing around for? Let’s go!” Linda noticed their reactions and smiled satisfactorily before speaking softly.
Rod coughed awkwardly to hide his shock and quickly lowered his head, saying, “Let’s go then!”
At that moment, he realized his heart rate had accelerated slightly. No wonder John and Kenny were so fascinated—her beauty was indeed comparable to Lucia and Alice’s, truly stunning.
When they led Linda to the door of the medical room, it immediately caused a stir. First, Linda’s beauty shocked everyone again; second, they were disappointed—after waiting so long, this was the outcome. Their goddess seemed to be getting close to this newly rising star, and the sight of them appearing so intimate broke many young men’s hearts.
Rod didn’t care about any of this, and Linda was used to it and paid no attention. As for John and Kenny, they walked ahead with their heads held high like victorious roosters.
As the group left, the crowd sighed deeply. Many watched them go with envy and jealousy, able to guess more or less what had happened. All they could do was sigh in disappointment—Knight Rod wasn’t someone they could afford to offend. Yet some angry individuals shouted that they wanted to challenge Knight Rod. In short, the crowd in front of the medical room was in complete chaos, all because of one person’s arrival. Meanwhile, the people involved didn’t notice the murderous looks behind them at all.
“Damn you, Knight Rod! Wait for it—we’re not done with you!” From the crowd, a pair of vicious eyes watched the departing group as they cursed fiercely before turning away in anger.
