Chapter 117: Alice’s Fury

“Did those people really fail? Not a single success?” After answering Kiro’s question, Rod couldn’t help but ask. In just under a morning, over 300 people, two holy-grade experts, and countless strong warriors were utterly defeated—over 200 of them died, with only a few dozen survivors, many of whom were likely injured.
No wonder the hotel seemed so deserted when he returned. Under such circumstances, it was hard for anyone to stay happy.
“Yeah, they failed. Nothing was gained. 267 died. I heard there were seven martial emperor-level experts and nearly thirty gold warriors, along with countless other warriors. Even one of the holy-grade experts was severely injured!” Kiro said with a sigh, filled with regret.
“This… how is that possible?” Rod exclaimed, his expression changing drastically. A holy-grade expert seriously injured? The strength of those who died far exceeded his imagination.
Seven emperor-level experts and nearly thirty gold warriors? Such strength was almost equivalent to that of an entire small kingdom. How could such a powerful team be nearly wiped out in just one morning? It was hard to believe.
“Hmph, nothing surprising. I told you before—going there was just asking for trouble!” Anderson said disdainfully with a cold snort.
“Heh, true enough. Going there was indeed suicide. Those ignorant fools thought they could take advantage of the Fire Dragon being injured during childbirth to launch a surprise attack and reap benefits? With the dragon race’s powerful healing abilities, those injuries would likely be healed by now. Even if not fully recovered, it would still be fine enough to pose no threat in battle. Add in its abnormal physical defense—those below emperor level couldn’t inflict any harm at all. You can imagine how strong their opponent is. With dragon speech magic, along with its powerful body and strength, it’s not surprising it caused such a result. Otherwise, do you think such a precious being could stay here safely for a year? Even the god-level experts must be envious.”
Kiro’s words made Rod’s expression grim, his gaze shifting unpredictably. He had originally wanted to go and see for himself, but now it seemed that going there would only mean certain death.

“Cough cough cough, okay, hehe, it’s getting late. Um, I still have a few things to take care of in my room. You guys go on, hehe. I’m leaving first!” After another moment, Rod didn’t pay any attention to what the people around him said; he was just lost in his own thoughts. After sighing, he spoke to them. Then he turned and headed toward his room, quickly disappearing from their sight.
“This guy… what’s going on?” Anderson muttered doubtfully, looking at Rod’s retreating figure and the closed door. He felt that this guy was strange.
“What else could it be? Probably scared, huh. Just a scoundrel!” Alice said unhappily with a cold snort. She still remembered yesterday’s incident clearly, and the thought of it made her feel uncomfortable. She wanted to teach that arrogant guy a lesson.
“Alice… you?” Strangely, Alice’s attitude toward Rod had changed drastically overnight. Anderson couldn’t help but ask, though with a hint of a smile. Her attitude actually made him feel a bit happier.
“Enough talking. Dinner time is approaching. That Rod guy… hey, probably off practicing again. He’s really diligent. Anderson, we can’t fall behind, or else we’ll be laughed at. Students of the Holy Light Academy must not lose to anyone!”
Kiro interrupted Anderson and Alice’s conversation calmly. His words were like a thunderbolt that awakened the other two.
At that moment, they remembered the day they met Rod again. The white combat aura in his mind seemed so glaring, filling their hearts with complex emotions.
Becoming a Silver Warrior in just over half a year—those words were hard to believe, but they were indeed true before their eyes. Comparing their first encounter with the current situation, the gap in their minds couldn’t be explained in a few words.
“Let’s go eat, then practice!” Anderson said softly, sighing.

“I’m going too!” Alice said firmly, clenching her fists. Perhaps she was the one who felt the most conflicted about Rod getting stronger. The first time she met him, he was just a low-level thug—a minor scoundrel. The second time they met was over ten days later, and he had changed greatly; he was now an intermediate warrior, no longer that scoundrel but almost the one who killed her so-called cousin, Roger, the young lord of Blaze City. At that time, she was still a high-level mage. With her superior strength and some advantages, she easily took down that guy.

The third time they met was in the city lord’s mansion. She intended to take revenge, but again, after a few days, that guy threatened her. Even when she had no choice but to summon the magical beast, the Blaze Panther, it didn’t help. She became a hostage in someone else’s hands and was even… bullied by that bastard.

Thinking of this, her face turned red with heat. She could still feel the burning sensation from being slapped on the buttocks by that thug, Knight Rod.

The most surprising thing was that this time, during this meeting, he had already become a Silver Warrior, surpassing Anderson, while she had only managed to become a Grand Mage due to luck.

The gap was too large. If they fought now, Alice knew she had no chance of winning; the other party could easily take care of her.

“Cough, cough, forget it. Let’s go eat first. Oh, Alice, could you please deliver Rod’s portion to him?”

Alice’s facial expression didn’t escape Kiro’s notice. But for some reason, he still made this decision.

“Alright, let’s go! We’re going to eat!” In an instant, Kiro stepped forward, not giving Alice any chance to refuse.

……

“Damn you, bastard! Making me deliver things to you? I’ll kill you!” Standing outside Rod’s room with a packed meal in her hands, Alice cursed angrily.

Her hand hovered in mid-air, unable to knock on the door, as if something was preventing her from doing so.

“Damn you, Kiro! You’re teaming up with others to bully me. I’ll remember this, huh! This noble lady won’t let you off easy!” Immediately, Kiro, the culprit, grinned viciously.

“What’s there to fear? A low-level thug? How could I, a noble mage, be afraid?” Encouraging herself, she didn’t knock but instead used all her strength to kick the door open.

With a loud crash, the door flew open, and she strode in, head held high.

“Idiot, this is your food. Deal with it yourself. Hmph, I’m leaving!” Without even glancing at Rod, he put down what he was holding and turned to leave! Sensing the situation outside, he slowly retracted his internal energy to wake himself up from his meditation. Frowning, he suddenly appeared in front of Alice, looking at her wide-eyed face and saying, “Don’t you think this is very impolite?”
“Hmph, and are you polite? I don’t recall that!”
“Well, true enough. I’m not very polite, but I’m probably better than you. Did you not get enough to see yesterday and want to see it again? Just say so. I’m not unreasonable. If you want to see it, I won’t be stingy about letting you. Right? Tell me, do you want to see it more thoroughly today?”
With a slight smile and a hint of malice, Rod brought his face close to hers, forcing Alice to take a step back!
Looking at Knight Rod across from her, she felt her heart pounding violently. The face approaching hers made her heart race with fear. She regretted agreeing to come to this guy’s room and arguing with such a dangerous person.
“What… what do you want to do?” she asked, trembling out of fear. “Hehe, scared? I thought you didn’t know what fear was. Little girl, one last serious warning: don’t offend me. Hmph, have you forgotten what I said? I’ll spank you, but next time it won’t be just a spanking. That’s what I said!”
Slap… A clear sound followed, and Alice’s face turned red instantly. Her mind went blank as she stood there, feeling dizzy and unaware of anything else. All she could hear was Rod’s arrogant laughter and the pain in her buttocks.
Just as Knight Rod finished speaking, he… he actually spanked her? The burning pain made Alice’s face feel like it might bleed. Had she been bullied by this guy again?
Drawn back by his arrogant laughter, that bastard was already indulging in his food at the table behind her, completely ignoring her feelings. Her expression gradually changed, with a hint of tears in her eyes: “Knight Rod, you… you vile scoundrel, pervert! I… I’ll fight you!”
Fueled by anger, she rushed at him without thinking, seemingly forgetting that she was a magician and that she was facing a Silver Warrior stronger than herself.

“Hm? Still angry?” Seeing this change, Rod put down the delicious food in his hands. His expression shifted, and a glint appeared in his eyes as a faint smile touched his lips. He stood up, his aura changing instantly as he stepped forward. A storm was coming!
