Chapter 94: Hasty Departure

Hearing the lewd sounds coming from behind, Rod smirked. Such satisfying revenge left him in high spirits. Though it might seem a bit twisted, it didn’t matter. In fact, he thought it was even too mild. There was no need to show mercy to scum like Niels. Killing him wouldn’t benefit him—he might not even escape the capital. Instead, punishing him inwardly, mentally, and in terms of dignity was a far more effective method.
Suddenly, a high-pitched whining sound came from behind, mixed with resentment, anger, shyness, and excitement. Turning around, he frowned. This guy was really quick. He shook his head silently: “Keep going, use every trick you have—keep at it!” That casual remark sealed Niels’ tragic fate, ensuring it wouldn’t end there.
Who was that woman? An expert in the world of pleasure, she surely had her skills. With her relentless efforts, Niels’ cries of shame arose again.
“Disgraceful!” In another room, the woman watching Rod’s actions turned red-faced. She spat in disgust at Rod’s complacent appearance through the magic crystal display. Such scenes made her heart race.
The magic crystal viewer was a super-luxurious item created by the world’s top magicians using their powerful magic and rare magical cores, requiring immense effort. Few would expect such a thing to exist. Even though this Flower Fragrance House was renowned throughout the capital, it remained beyond their reach.
Glancing again, she sighed and smiled bitterly. Rod’s tactics were beyond her imagination. Admittedly, they were evil and shameless, but effective.
“Niels, hehe… Will you still have the face to show your face here after this? How will you retaliate against that guy? It’s really exciting~!” Muttering to herself, she turned away from the magic crystal display and fell into deep thought.
……
Periodic high-pitched sounds continued. Niels’ speed as a quick shooter meant Rod didn’t have to wait long to achieve his goal. Looking at Niels lying limp on the ground, his eyes rolled back, and a thick pool of white liquid around him, Rod smiled in satisfaction.

“Well, not bad. Alright, you’re safe now—but not yet. Think about where you’ll go from here; I assume you’ve already figured it out, so I don’t need to arrange anything for you! As for him? Hehe, it’s not over yet!” Looking at the woman on the ground, red-faced and in distress, Rod smiled faintly and said. For such a woman to have no possessions or place to go was simply ridiculous. Turning to look at Niels on the ground, he stepped forward, picked him up, and quickly stripped him of his clothes.

By this point, Niels had no strength to resist Rod’s actions. He could only watch helplessly, even considering death as an escape from such humiliation. He truly wished Rod would end his suffering by killing him, sparing him further torment—physically and spiritually.

Satisfied after stripping Niels down to his underwear, Rod found a long rope in the room, tied Niels’s feet tightly, and secured one end to a beam on the roof, hanging Niels upside down. He then used another rope tied around Niels’s ankles, pulling him up by his nose. The other end of that rope was tied to a stick stuck in the door gap. Smiling with satisfaction at his creation, he revealed a mischievous grin.

Once someone noticed Niels’s absence, they would surely come to this room. If someone opened the door, the stuck rod would shift, causing the rope to slip. The resulting force would throw Niels out through the nearest window, exposing him to everyone’s eyes.

“Alright, if you want to leave, go now. Remember, don’t say anything unnecessary—it won’t benefit you. Go out that window!” After saying this to the woman, Rod left the room through another window—the one Niels would fly out of—descending into the bustling city below.

Finding the best spot to land, he glanced back at the lit room above and smiled. “Niels, I’m leaving. Hehe, wait until you find me to take revenge!” He brushed dust off his clothes, hummed a tune, and headed toward Marshal Okaz’s mansion, feeling pleased. “It seems it’s time to leave!”

He thought to himself that indeed, Nils would surely be discovered soon. Once the situation became clear, he would face an unprecedented and terrifying pursuit—something he certainly didn’t want to experience. Braving the cold wind, he returned to the mansion in a good mood. It was easy to imagine that Nils, aside from everything else, must be suffering greatly from the cold alone. Back in his room, he quickly packed his few belongings. After hesitating for a moment, he headed toward Okaaz’s study. The faint light inside seemed to indicate that the owner was there. He stepped forward, knocked on the door, and entered. Okaaz was indeed there, with a pile of documents on the desk, seemingly busy with official work. “Rod, what brings you here? Hmm? Are you… leaving?” Seeing that it was Rod, Okaaz put aside his work and greeted him with a smile. But when he noticed the luggage in Rod’s hands, he frowned and spoke in confusion. “I’ve come to say goodbye. Thank you very much for your care these past few days, but I still have some things to attend to, so I need to leave first. I believe I’ll be back soon. Please don’t think I’m impatient! Hehe…” With a forced smile, he spoke first to prevent Okaaz from trying to keep him. “Well, it seems you’ve made up your mind. Leaving now? Can’t it wait until tomorrow? Why such haste? Haven’t you said goodbye to Lawrence and the others?” With a wry smile, Okaaz shook his head and sighed, then asked curiously what could be so urgent. “Yeah, I’m leaving now. I won’t say goodbye to them. I hope you can convey my gratitude to them on my behalf. If nothing else, I’ll be going first. See you later!” After some thought, Rod decided to leave right away. Going to Huaxiang Tower to see Nils’s embarrassing situation in person seemed like a good idea. “Is that so? Hey, fine. Be careful, and whatever happens, you can come to me. That’s my promise to you. Remember, the gates of our mansion will always be open for you. As long as you want it, everything I said still stands!” Seeing that nothing could be changed, Okaaz sighed with a hint of disappointment.

He had originally hoped that over time, he could change this guy’s mind and keep him to serve the empire as a rising star. But after learning that thing and some other reasons, coupled with Rod’s current determination, he knew his plan had failed. After bidding farewell, he quickly headed toward the door. Walking along the path again, he gazed deeply at every flower and plant here, feeling a sense of emptiness. In just two days, he had developed feelings for this place. And Lucia? He even felt reluctant to leave; her stunning beauty lingered in his mind. From initial disdain to later disgust and hatred, and now reluctance? The change seemed too fast. “Damn it, human emotions are just a mess—unpredictable!” With a bitter smile of self-mockery, he quickened his pace outside. “Rod, what are you doing…” Just as he was about to reach the gate, a voice from behind made him stop. Turning around, wasn’t it Lucia standing there? She looked at him with a puzzled gaze, making his heart flutter. “Ahem… I had planned to have the marshal convey the message to you, but it’s fine now. Well, I have to go. There are things I need to take care of. Hehe, thanks for your hospitality these past two days. I hope we’ll meet again if there’s a chance!” Avoiding Lucia’s questioning gaze, Rod said nervously. “Leaving so soon? Won’t you stay a few more days?” Her expression changed slightly as she lowered her head and pondered for a moment, looking at the man who had saved her life several times with a complex gaze. Lucia asked softly. “No need. I’ll come back if there’s a chance!” Seeing Lucia’s look and even sensing a hint of disappointment, Rod, who was almost about to agree, was shocked and quickly spoke, fearing he might give in. Facing each other directly, he realized he really didn’t want to leave. Since when had Lucia made him feel such complex emotions? “Will you come back? How soon?” Her eyes lit up as she asked. “I’m not sure. Maybe soon, maybe later. It’s hard to say. Don’t worry, I won’t break my word. If nothing goes wrong, it shouldn’t take too long!” Rod blurted out these words without even knowing why. “Is that so? I’ll wait for you!” After hesitating for a while, Lucia said softly. Rod’s departure actually left her feeling a bit empty? Even a bit upset? Why? Her mind was in chaos!

Nodding, he turned and left, not wanting to stay any longer. Rod was afraid he might really be reluctant to leave this place—was it the mansion, or something else? He wasn’t sure.
