Chapter 004: The Controlled God
The two fought for some time, and soon the entire sky became dazzlingly colorful!
Vivid lightning flashes occasionally colored this underground world, but Lambovan’s figure kept obscuring those colors.
The sky was filled with the crackling sound of thunder and the explosive noises produced by each punch Lambovan landed.
Both fighters were masters among mid-tier gods. Had Du Fan and the others ever seen such high-level fighters battling? Upon witnessing two mid-tier gods fighting for the first time, Du Fan’s first description was “a world plunged into chaos!”
The lightning unleashed by Ramon to attack Lambovan occasionally accidentally struck the troops of various races on the ground, causing immediate casualties. Those soldiers simply had no chance to defend themselves.
“Ramon! Back in the day, you were also one of the best among the gods. How can you tolerate being controlled by such a human today? Are you willing to accept this?” Lambovan suddenly shouted at Ramon.
Hearing Lambovan’s words, Ramon froze, as if deep in thought, his eyes showing confusion and doubt.
Seeing Ramon’s reaction, a faint smile appeared on Lambovan’s face.
“Ramon, does it mean you’ve lost your dignity as a god? The once noble God of Lightning has now become a puppet controlled by others—what a tragedy,” Lambovan continued.
Upon hearing this, Ramon suddenly snapped angrily, “What do you know? My body is under control! They sealed my soul inside this scroll, forcing me to obey whoever holds it! Do you think I wanted this?”
Hearing Ramon’s words, Lambovan nodded.
“I heard that during the war among the gods, someone took the opportunity to turn several gods into puppet scrolls. It turns out this is true.”
“Hmph! If I hadn’t been severely injured and lost consciousness back then, could that wretched reptile have turned me into a soul puppet?” Ramon roared loudly.
“Ramon, stop talking nonsense and hurry up and help me fight!” Wade, who was fighting Moses, shouted.
At Wade’s words, Ramon instinctively attacked Lambovan again.
“Raymond! Why are you attacking me again?” Seeing another bolt of lightning from Raymond aimed at him, Lambourne quickly dodged to the side, shouting as he did so.
“I didn’t do it on purpose! I can’t control myself! I’m being controlled by someone else!” Raymond shouted back.
“Are you ashamed? A mid-tier god being controlled by an ordinary person!” Lambourne yelled while dodging Raymond’s attacks.
“Damn it!” Raymond cried out. “I told you I can’t control myself! I have no control over my own actions! If the one controlling me wasn’t so weak, I wouldn’t even be able to control my own thoughts!”
“Get out of the way! I don’t want to hurt you!” Raymond warned loudly as he sent fierce lightning bolts at Lambourne.
“Raymond, tell me! How can we free you?” Lambourne asked loudly.
Seeing this once-great god in such a pitiful state, Lambourne, as a mid-tier god himself, felt deep pity. If he could free Raymond from this situation, he would be more than willing to do so.
Firstly, both of them were mid-tier gods. On this continent, although there were many godly experts, true mid-tier gods were extremely rare.
Secondly, after regaining consciousness, this God of Lightning had no intention of fighting Lambourne—other than being controlled, he couldn’t act on his own. Even as he launched attacks with his abilities, he kept reminding Lambourne.
“Free my body from the seal, and once my soul returns to its place, I’ll naturally be freed!” Hearing Lambourne’s question, Raymond quickly explained how to free himself.
“Okay, where is your body sealed?” Lambourne asked.
“To be honest, I don’t know,” Raymond replied with a frown.
“Then what can we do?” Lambourne frowned again.
“I don’t have a specific method, but…” Raymond paused. “As long as my soul gets close to my sealed body, I’ll be able to sense it.”
“Then fine! We’ll just explore the entire underground world together!” Lambourne said, a hint of relief appearing on his face upon hearing a way to find Raymond’s body.
Just as Lambovan felt relieved and happy, Raymond’s lightning strike instantly hit Lambovan’s head! Although the strike didn’t seriously injure Lambovan, the immense energy contained in the lightning scorched his body beyond recognition. All his hair stood on end, his clothes began to smoke, and his face turned completely black. “Raymond, you!” Lambovan’s appearance was ruined after being struck by Raymond’s lightning, and in a fit of anger, he immediately shouted at Raymond. “I really didn’t mean to!” Seeing Lambovan’s furious state, Raymond hurriedly explained. “I know you didn’t mean to! But couldn’t you find some way to divert the lightning a little?” Lambovan demanded angrily. “I tried! I really don’t want to fight you! But I can’t control myself!” With that, Raymond involuntarily sent another bolt of lightning wildly toward Lambovan. “Raymond, you’re at it again!” Lambovan snapped in anger as he saw Raymond claiming he didn’t want to fight yet firing powerful lightning at him. “I truly don’t want to attack you,” Raymond rushed to explain again, while sending more lightning bolts at Lambovan nonstop. The situation—claiming not to want to attack while continuously firing lightning—became a strange spectacle on the battlefield. Meanwhile, on another side, Robb and Bashash faced off against Ulbas and Huamusi. Two god-tier masters against two domain experts—the outcome was predictable. Robb fought against Ulbas, a domain expert from the Night Elves. Robb simply attacked casually a few times. In the underground world, the divine power of god-tier masters isn’t restricted, so Robb, wielding his divine power, forced Ulbas to retreat repeatedly. Relying on the agility and incredible movement skills of the Night Elves, Ulbas managed to escape Robb’s attacks several times. This experience gave Ulbas a sense of luck, making him think Robb’s abilities were only that much.
The moment Ulbas relaxed, he began to rely on luck. With that sense of luck in his heart, Ulbas grew bolder! Once bold, this expert among the Night Elves started to think of ways to counterattack.
The Night Elves were masters of stealth and ambushes, so the first tactic that came to mind for this expert was naturally one suited to their skills.
With a sinister smile on his face, Ulbas suddenly disappeared.
Unfortunately, this expert of the Night Elves had no idea why Rob had targeted him. Even the stealth skills of the Night Elves, even those used by a master of stealth, were completely visible under Rob’s True Eye!
Although Rob’s True Eye was learned from Du Fan, his understanding and mastery of it far surpassed Du Fan’s!
In Rob’s eyes, this expert of the Night Elves was acting like a ridiculous clown!
Though Rob could see every move the expert made clearly, he pretended not to notice, acting strangely and cautiously while scanning his surroundings.
Seeing Rob’s behavior, Ulbas grew even more confident in his actions. Another sinister smile appeared on his face.
But when Rob caught sight of that smile, he gave it a quick glance before pretending not to see it, tilting his head to the side.
Step by step, Ulbas approached Rob as if performing a grotesque clown dance, moving carefully toward him. Watching this, Rob almost burst out laughing!
Yet he remained serious, allowing Ulbas to approach step by step, like a thief sneaking up on a sleeping guardian, turning back frequently with each step.
When he was about three meters away from Rob, Ulbas suddenly attacked! With a slight motion of his hand, a blue dagger appeared in his grip.
He leaped forward and thrust the dagger into Rob’s back. Just ten centimeters from Rob’s back, Ulbas’s face showed an expression of triumph, along with a cruel smile.
Urbas knew very well that this dagger was coated with some of the most deadly poisons—each one a lethal toxin that took effect upon contact with blood! Moreover, three of these poisons were said to be so deadly that even gods would die from them! So, as the dagger neared Rob’s back, Urbas wore a cruel smile. In his mind, as long as the dagger made a slight cut on Rob’s back—no need for it to be deep; just a wound that bled would suffice, or even just touching Rob’s skin would do. Once in contact with Rob’s skin, those seven deadly poisons would spread like a fierce infection, rapidly spreading their toxicity throughout Rob’s body, introducing all those harmful toxins into him. Ten centimeters of distance was nothing at all for Urbas—time was completely negligible! Just as Urbas rejoiced at the chance to kill a god with his own hands, Rob suddenly turned his head and smiled at him. Seeing Rob’s smile, Urbas immediately felt a badbad feeling!
