Chapter 020: The Power of Space
Looking at Lambovan in front of them, Du Fan and the others couldn’t help but start sneering. Lambovan’s strength had already reached the mid-stage divine level. Moreover, in this underground world, thanks to his ancient soul mark, his control over divine power was likely far greater than that of Duke Wade and his allies combined. Du Fan hadn’t expected Duke Wade to launch a direct attack on the dwarf tribe using brutal tactics. As for Lambovan, it was unclear how he had obtained the news, but he was able to gather his people quickly. It seemed Du Fan still didn’t fully understand the Earth Tiger tribe.
“Who are you?” Duke Wade asked nervously, instinctively feeling uneasy as he stared at Lambovan. After all, he was quite familiar with most races in this underground world, but he had never seen this person before, so he didn’t dare underestimate him.
“Who do you say deserves to die?” Lambovan asked, his face turning pale as he glared at Duke Wade. At the same time, his right hand began to gather domain power, causing a fierce wind to blow across the entire dwarf tribe’s settlement.
“Heh, are you also one of Du Fan’s allies?” Duke Wade asked dismissively, showing no signs of nervousness. In his mind, Du Fan’s allies were at most experts like Rob who had just reached the divine level. In this underground world, divine-level experts were nothing worth worrying about for Duke Wade.
After all, the underground world was a strange place filled with numerous experts, as well as various energies that held their own mysteries.
Du Fan and the others were slightly surprised by Duke Wade’s attitude. No general would dare underestimate their opponent before understanding their strength. It was possible that the opponent before them was far more powerful than imaginable. Provoking Lambovan might well be Duke Wade’s biggest mistake of his life.
“Good, you’ve got guts,” Lambovan said. He instantly appeared beside Lan Xin’er and asked concerningly, “Did that kid over there hurt you? Why did you run out without saying anything? Don’t you know how worried we were?”
“Dad,” Lan Xin’er replied shyly, with a hint of playfulness in her voice, “It’s great that I could come out. Besides, as your daughter, I possess domain power—how could I get hurt? Brother Du Fan and his brothers take very good care of me. Don’t worry.”
“Yes, Clan Leader Lan.” At this moment, Du Fan glanced at the father and daughter and said soothingly, “Xin’er is with us and hasn’t caused any trouble. But we didn’t expect this old fellow to launch a surprise attack at this time. If we had known, I would have started preparing a battle plan long ago.”
“Haha.” Hearing Du Fan’s words, Duke Wade let out a laugh as if his scheme had succeeded, then slowly said, “Don’t worry. I’ve already hidden two-thirds of the races in the underground world at the exit of the dwarf tribe. Even if you try to run today, it’s impossible.”
“Is that so?” Hearing Duke Wade’s words, Lan Bowen sneered and looked down on him as he slowly said, “What a coincidence. The remaining one-third of the races are also outside. I think it’s almost time now.”
After Lan Bowen spoke, Duke Wade’s face turned pale as he began to suspect Lan Bowen’s identity.
The Earth Tiger tribe knew all about the various forces in the underground world even before the Dark Elves and Spidermen. For some reason, they later refused to fight against other races. Yet their strength accounted for one-third of the underground world’s total. If it weren’t for Duke Wade’s arrival, the Earth Tiger tribe could have used this one-third of their strength to completely crush the other scattered forces, and the underground world would still be under their control.
“Du Fan, if you’re a man, bring someone from your camp to fight me one-on-one. Don’t always hide behind your army,” Duke Wade said provocatively as he stared at Du Fan.
Hearing Duke Wade’s words, the strong men around Du Fan laughed simultaneously.
Not to mention Rob and Basha who were with Du Fan before, even Lawrence, Lan Bowen, and Lan Xin’er now were beyond Duke Wade’s ability to defeat.
“I heard you’re the messenger of the underground world. How about this? I’ll have some fun with you,” Lawrence said, shaking his head excitedly as he stepped forward and flicked his finger disdainfully at Duke Wade.
“You? With just you?” Landi stepped forward as well, looking down on Lawrence and saying, “Looking at you, a kid with purple hair, you’re not even worthy of fighting my father. Come on, I’ll have some fun with you.”
“I’d be happy to.”
As soon as Lawrence finished speaking, he looked down on Landi with disdain and stepped forward abruptly, shooting toward Landi like a projectile.
Just as Lawrence charged at Randy, a giant green wolf suddenly appeared behind Randy! As soon as the green wolf showed up, it immediately pounced on Randy. In no time, Randy’s entire demeanor changed—his once deep, abyss-like aura became much more lively!
This version of Randy was the result of the fusion of feng shui energy; the combination of the two energies created a unique aura, making him appear graceful and ethereal.
Soon, just as Lawrence was about to attack Randy, countless streams of water rose around him. These streams kept flowing, forming a rapidly rotating water shield between Randy and Lawrence.
With a loud “bang,” when Lawrence’s fist struck the water shield, the center of the shield seemed to explode like a giant bomb, sending water splashing everywhere!
These splashing water droplets acted like rapid water arrows, shooting out in all directions. Those that hit the ground acted like powerful arrows, creating deep holes in the solid ground of the underground world!
The power of these water arrows was astonishingly strong.
Many of these water arrows also targeted the skilled fighters present—those who were at least at the domain level—whom easily deflected the arrows aimed at them.
Randy, on the other hand, was in a difficult situation. Facing his own water shield, most of the shooting water arrows were directed at him.
He never expected his water shield to be so fragile; he wasn’t prepared for this at all. As countless water arrows struck him, he frantically created energy shields to protect himself. However, these makeshift defenses couldn’t stop the numerous arrows, and some of them pierced through the shields and hit Randy directly.
After merging with the magical beast, Randy possessed the beast’s formidable defensive abilities, so the fast water arrows couldn’t hurt him. But his clothes were severely damaged.
After a barrage of water arrows, Randy’s clothes were torn and ragged, hanging loosely on his body. Thankfully, his undergarments remained mostly intact.
Looking at his ruined clothes, Randy’s face turned pale. Suddenly, he shouted, “Wind Blades!”
Randy screamed as waves of wind blades continuously slashed toward Lawrence’s direction.
“Haha, kid. I never expected that such a basic magic as wind blades could be unleashed to such an extent by you. You’re truly a genius,” Lawrence said, unflinching at all as the wind blades flew at him, instead teasing Randy.
“It’s not up to you to decide whether I’m a genius or not,” Randy retorted angrily.
“Haha, you’ve got spirit. It’s a shame you’re in the wrong side. You shouldn’t go against me. With your strong personality, maybe we could even become good friends,” Lawrence said with a smile.
As he spoke, he waved his hand casually, unleashing massive amounts of domain power that sent countless wind blades toward Randy!
For a powerful figure like Lawrence, domain power could be released endlessly. Under this overwhelming force, the countless wind blades vanished like mud in the sea in an instant.
Seeing that his wind blades had no effect, Randy screamed again. Clenching his hands, he created a giant wind blade over ten meters long, which slammed down toward Lawrence’s head!
That wind blade, over ten meters long and accompanied by a howling wind, was truly spectacular.
Looking at the wind blade before him, Lawrence smirked disdainfully. His body stopped mysteriously in midair, and his fist instantly grew to over half a meter long as he charged at the incoming wind blade.
The moment his fist struck the wind blade, the underground world seemed to freeze. Randy and his giant wind blade sword also seemed to be frozen in place, maintaining a strange posture as they watched everything unfold.
Duke Wade and the others stood there with grim expressions, while the dwarves below watched Lawrence in the sky nervously, their miniature magic cannons already aimed at Randy, ready to attack at any moment.
The only ones who could move were Du Fan and the others. At that moment, Lawrence withdrew his fist with a smile and said to Lambowan behind him, “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome,” Lambowan replied with a kind smile before slowly adding, “If I didn’t know how to use a little space power, I think that so-called envoy would still consider me a coward.”
“Elder Lan, are you saying you caused all this?” Du Fan looked at Lan Bowan in shock. Although he was aware of the extent of a mid-tier god’s powers, he never expected that a mid-tier god’s control over a domain could reach the level of space itself. This level was extremely terrifying; without proper control, an entire space could be destroyed by such a god. Thus, the spatial control Lan Bowan displayed was far stronger than the domain powers of Du Fan and the others. “That’s right,” Lan Bowan said proudly upon hearing Du Fan’s words. “Spatial power is the most mysterious ability on the continent. If used properly, anywhere an enemy is located within my space, I can turn the entire space into fragments at any time.” Book 50: Racial Conflicts
