Chapter 003: Killing the Sacred Beast

At this moment, the Northern Legion’s excellent military discipline was fully displayed! Two hundred thousand soldiers moved as one, without the slightest hint of chaos or delay!
The two hundred thousand-strong legion, with its clearly organized units, advanced toward the armies of the Frozen Alliance, with perfect coordination among different units and troops, as smooth as flowing water!
By this time, Long Aotian had already brought a large number of sacred-grade experts from the Frozen Alliance to the front lines. Watching the Northern Legion’s seamless coordination, his expression grew increasingly serious.
Since Long Aotian had personally taken charge of the battle, the two armies had only engaged in small-scale clashes, with no large-scale battles between their legions.
Just by deploying their forces in this manner, the Northern Legion immediately stunned Long Aotian.
What kind of mastery was this in command?
As the emperor of the Frozen Alliance, Long Aotian naturally understood the terrifying power of such an army!
At the very least, several things could be inferred from this: first, coordination! An army is not about fighting alone; when units coordinate well, their strength multiplies!
Five well-coordinated squads could even match ten times their number—twice as many soldiers—and still be a formidable opponent. If the enemy failed to coordinate, five against ten wouldn’t put them at a disadvantage!
“What’s flying in the sky?” Long Aotian asked curiously, looking at the green shuttles flying overhead.
“Your Majesty, those are Green Family’s vehicles—Du Fan’s, the third son of Old Green,” replied immediately a royal from a principality that knew about the green shuttles.
“Your Majesty, shall we just wait for them to attack?” asked a general as the soldiers of the Northern Legion continued to advance.
“Feng Xi, Leopard Woman, send your magical beasts to launch a ‘Wind and Fire Storm’ attack on the Northern Legion’s troops,” Long Aotian suddenly ordered the two female sacred-grade warriors.
Feng Xi was the one who had used a handkerchief to wipe blood off Long Zhan during the battle against Du Fan. As for Leopard Woman, she was none other than the extremely graceful woman who fled even in the face of Du Fan and Moses that night.

Hearing Long Aotian’s words, the two women immediately summoned their respective magical beasts—a fiery red phoenix and a cyan Wind-Splitting Leopard—which soon appeared beside them. As soon as these two magical beasts appeared, they charged straight toward the ranks of the Northern Legion!

When the two magical beasts were still eight hundred meters away from the Northern Legion, the archers in their ranks began shooting arrows at them. Unfortunately, under the phoenix’s intense heat, the arrows didn’t even reach fifty meters away from the beasts before turning to ashes! Even those arrows that didn’t turn to ashes fell to the ground due to the Wind-Splitting Leopard’s fierce winds.

At that moment, in the sky, inside the Cyan Shuttle, Duke Green was watching the developments on the battlefield with a group of skilled warriors.

“What are they doing?” Duke Green asked upon seeing the two magical beasts below.

“It seems to be a fire-type and a wind-type beast. With two such beasts together, they’re surely going to use wind and fire magic. These two types of magic, when combined—wind fueling the fire—can be extremely powerful!” Du Fan replied immediately when his father asked.

Upon closer inspection, Du Fan noticed that all the skilled warriors above the Saint rank in the Northern Legion were gathered inside the Cyan Shuttle!

“Naixiu, lower the Cyan Shuttle a bit and stop it right in front of the army, facing the two magical beasts,” Du Fan said to Naixiu.

“Okay, I understand,” Naixiu replied right away.

Soon, the Cyan Shuttle stopped above the Northern Legion, directly above the phoenix and the Wind-Splitting Leopard, moving slowly forward alongside the army’s progress.

Even facing two Saint-ranked magical beasts, the brave warriors of the Northern Legion advanced fearlessly!

Seeing their army approaching, the phoenix flew into the sky and kept crying out loudly. Along with its cries, clusters of fiery red balls began to fall from its body!

The Wind-Splitting Leopard below, seeing the red balls falling from the phoenix, roared loudly. Soon, gusts of wind carrying those fiery red balls drifted toward the Northern Legion!

At that point, the two Saint-ranked magical beasts were still about five hundred meters away from the Northern Legion. As those fiery red balls drifted toward them, they transformed into massive flames that rushed violently at the soldiers of the Northern Legion!

A vast number of fireballs were scattered by the phoenix, and the Wind-Rending Leopard unleashed fierce winds that scattered those fiery balls everywhere! As a result, the several hundred-meter stretch in front of the Northern Legion instantly turned into a sea of raging flames!
This scene truly gave the impression of flames spreading across the sky!
Not only that, but it seemed as though those flames contained some kind of fire-loving substance—the closer to the Northern Legion, the more fierce the flames became.
“Such great flames!” Du Fan laughed loudly as he watched the massive fire.
As Du Fan laughed, he held his Holy Radiance Staff, and immediately, a massive amount of wind energy emanated from it, forming gusts of wind that enveloped the flames threatening to reach the soldiers of the Northern Legion, directing them toward the soldiers of the Frozen Alliance!
“There are wind mages among them!” Long Aotian was surprised to see the combined skill of the phoenix and the Wind-Rending Leopard having the opposite effect.
“Yes! Judging from our past battles, it’s impossible for them to have wind mages,” said a Saint-level expert in surprise as well.
These people never suspected Du Fan at all. After all, Du Fan was the third son of the Green family, and whenever he fought, he used either Light Combat Qi or Star Combat Qi. Since he possessed both types of combat qi, everyone in the Frozen Alliance assumed he was a pure warrior!
“Tuo, stop those flames,” Long Aotian ordered again, seeing that the flames seemed to be changing direction and heading toward the people of the Frozen Alliance.
“Yes, Your Majesty!” Hearing Long Aotian’s command, the man named Tuo opened his mouth and sent streams of water erupting from it, extinguishing those flames.
“That’s enough. Call your magical beasts back!” Long Aotian said after seeing that the flames spreading across the sky wasn’t effective.
At Long Aotian’s command, the three magical beasts returned to their own camps.
“Third brother, you’re really something. Just with a casual move of yours, the winds you create are even fiercer than those of the Wind-Rending Leopard,” Allen said to Du Fan.
“I’m a domain expert. That Wind-Rending Leopard is just at the Saint level. How could his wind energy compare to mine?” Du Fan replied with a smile when asked by Allen.

With a single move, the great fire was dispelled, and Naixiu once again controlled the Green Shuttle, flying high into the sky.
“Your Majesty, what should we do next?” asked a general from the Frozen Alliance, looking at Long Aotian.
“Send the cavalry to charge!” Long Aotian replied upon hearing the general’s question.
Soon, Long Aotian’s orders were spread throughout the army.
A large gap suddenly appeared in the ranks of the Frozen Alliance’s army, from which a large number of cavalry rushed out. As soon as they appeared, they charged straight at the Northern Legion!
From the Green Shuttle, it was possible to see the battle below very clearly.
“There must be about a hundred thousand of those cavalry,” George said, observing the cavalry of the Frozen Alliance on the ground.
“Over a hundred and ten thousand,” Duke Green replied.
“Order the heavy cavalry to attack!” Duke Green said simply.
Carol, who had been watching the sky, suddenly saw a flag raised on the Green Shuttle. Nodding at it, Carol shouted, “Heavy cavalry, attack!”
The infantry stationed at the front of the troops quickly formed columns, creating wide passages in between. Soon, large numbers of heavy cavalry charged out through these passages!
Soon, these charging heavy cavalry gathered together, forming a rolling wave of iron that rushed at the cavalry of the Frozen Alliance!
When the two cavalry forces clashed, the combat strength of each side became immediately apparent. Fifty thousand heavy cavalry, facing the cavalry of the Frozen Alliance, advanced with unstoppable force, scattering their ranks!
The cavalry of the Frozen Alliance couldn’t even be considered light cavalry! Few of them wore armor!
The Frozen Alliance was known for its poverty; at most one-third of their cavalry had armor! Such an army quickly collapsed under the assault of the Northern Legion’s heavy cavalry!
“Your Majesty, what should we do?” asked a general, watching the collapsing cavalry.
“That’s exactly the effect I wanted!” Long Aotian suddenly said.
“Long Zhan, take charge and form a Sacred Beast! Send it into the ranks of the Northern Legion’s heavy cavalry to disrupt their formation!” Long Aotian ordered sharply.
“Order the long spear soldiers to prepare for battle!” This was Long Aotian’s second order.
The Sacred Beast was the same six-part magical beast that had once fought against Du Fanxiang. This magical beast, composed of six quasi-divine beasts, was called a Sacred Beast in the Frozen Alliance!

Soon, the six magical beasts combined, and that bizarre holy beast appeared once again! Leaping high, it plunged straight into the ranks of the Northern Legion’s heavy cavalry. As soon as it entered their ranks, it unleashed a storm of violence! Normally, even experts at the holy rank would not dare to venture into the tight encirclement of heavy cavalry, whose impact force exceeded several thousand pounds—even a holy rank expert would find it unbearable under such continuous attacks. But this was a holy beast; it entered the ranks of the heavy cavalry without being affected in the slightest! Its strength was immense, its speed terrifying, its defense formidable, and its claws razor-sharp! The beast’s two claws swung through the air repeatedly, claiming the lives of several heavy cavalrymen with each swing. Their armor was as fragile as paper against its claws! The moment the beast appeared, the Northern Legion’s heavy cavalry fell into brief chaos. Though minor, it completely disrupted their previously seamless offensive momentum. Wherever the beast slaughtered the cavalry, their movements became completely frozen! “Father, their spearmen are moving in!” George said. “Good! Who among you can take care of that magical beast below?” Duke Green suddenly asked. “Naixiu, you go,” Du Fan said to her. Nodding, Du Fan took control of Qing Suo on Naixiu’s behalf. Naixiu quickly donned the Elf King set. In an instant, her entire body glowed as she drew out the Eternal Bow. A red-and-green long arrow appeared instantly on its string! The arrow was shot—directly at the beast that was killing mercilessly. The arrow vanished into its body.
