Chapter 002: The General Offensive Begins

Unfortunately, among the army led by Xiao Yulong, there wasn’t a single expert at the Saint level. This situation allowed two Saint-class magical beasts and two Saint-level experts to wreak havoc!
Fortunately, the quality of the Northern Legion’s soldiers was far superior to those of the Frozen Alliance, so the Northern Legion didn’t suffer too heavy losses in terms of casualties.
“General, we can’t go up!” Several knights blocked Xiao Yulong’s path tightly.
“Let me go!” Xiao Yulong shouted loudly.
Watching the two Saint-class magical beasts and the two Saint-level experts mercilessly killing his men, Xiao Yulong’s eyes turned red with anger.
Officers of the Northern Legion had always treated their soldiers like their own children. Seeing their comrades being slaughtered, even though Xiao Yulong was only at the peak of level 8, he was determined to fight desperately against those Saint-level experts.
Although Xiao Yulong felt like going mad, his guards remained rational, blocking his way and preventing him from charging forward.
“General! The Duke already knows what’s happening here. I think he’ll send experts to support us soon!” One of the guards suddenly said, seeing Xiao Yulong’s frenzied state.
Hearing this, Xiao Yulong calmed down slightly. However, their actions had already caught the attention of the Saint-level experts from the Frozen Alliance!
“Catch the leader first!” This principle is well-known to many. It was precisely the actions of the guards and Xiao Yulong that drew the attention of a Saint-level expert from the Frozen Alliance. Soon, this expert noticed that the armor and horses of those people were clearly superior to those of the ordinary soldiers around them.
“Kill them!” That was the first thought of this Saint-level expert upon seeing this.
Turning this thought into action immediately, the expert headed straight toward Xiao Yulong’s group. Soon, Xiao Yulong’s side also detected something unusual—a Saint-level expert ignored all other opponents and headed straight for them.
“Stop him!” Seeing this aggression, the guards around Xiao Yulong shouted loudly.
At their cries, those in the Northern Legion who had bows or crossbows immediately raised their weapons and fired at the flying Saint-level expert. This finally slowed down the expert’s speed.

“General! Go!” The holy-grade expert who was haggling slowed down, and the guards around him immediately shouted at Xiao Yulong.
“Go!” Having decided to conserve his strength, Xiao Yulong this time obediently followed the guards and moved away.
“Kill them!” The holy-grade expert chasing Xiao Yulong suddenly roared and descended to the ground. Ignited by the arrows and crossbows on the ground, he launched a fierce attack on the archers.
It was at this moment that Rob appeared on the battlefield.
“Mr. Rob!” Seeing Rob, Xiao Yulong’s eyes filled with ecstasy.
Even within the main camp, Duke格林 (Green) was extremely polite when facing Rob, showing even more respect than for the domain powerhouse Moses.
Although Mr. Rob had never intervened in the challenges against the experts of the Frozen Alliance, judging by Xiao Yulong’s intelligence, his strength was surely no less than Moses’s.
Moreover, from the time he sent a message to Duke格林 (Green) until Rob’s arrival, only about thirteen minutes had passed. The speed at which Mr. Rob could reach this place was beyond Xiao Yulong’s imagination.
Hearing someone call his name, Rob smiled at the general who had called him.
The forces sent to carry out this mission moved like a furious gust of wind. Soon, the soldiers on both sides realized that the two holy-grade magical beasts and the two holy-grade experts who had been showing off earlier were nowhere to be seen.
“Warriors of the Northern Legion! All their holy-grade experts have been killed by Mr. Rob! It’s our turn to show our strength! Kill them mercilessly!” Xiao Yulong shouted loudly right away.
Into this shout, he poured in all his cultivation energy. The sound rolled across the battlefield, and tens of thousands of soldiers on both sides heard it clearly!
The soldiers of the Frozen Alliance paled. Those two holy-grade experts were not only their spiritual pillars but also their battlefield commanders, the leaders of their troops!
On the battlefield, the death of a commander naturally dealt a severe blow to morale. In contrast, the soldiers of the Northern Legion, freed from the pressure of the holy-grade experts, saw their morale soar instantly. With thunderous enthusiasm, they charged back at the army of the Frozen Alliance in retaliation.

“General Xiao, haha, I leave the rest to you. I need to hurry back to Chihu City,” said Rob, laughing as he eliminated four Holy Rank warriors before turning to Xiao Yulong.
“Mr. Rob, please go back!” Hearing this, Xiao Yulong immediately bowed to Rob.
With a green flash, Rob flew straight toward Chihu City.
Watching Rob fly away, one of Xiao Yulong’s guards quickly asked, “General, why isn’t Mr. Rob continuing to help us?”
“The Duke has decided to launch a full-scale attack. Mr. Rob is rushing back to Chihu City to compete against the experts from the Frozen Alliance,” replied Xiao Yulong.
Not long after Rob set off, Duke Green sent a message to Xiao Yulong: once Rob dealt with the Holy Rank warriors, all the troops should advance to their predetermined positions!
“Order the troops! Advance toward the set targets!” Xiao Yulong shouted loudly.
“Sir, haven’t we already been discovered by the enemy? Why do we still need to advance?” One of the guards asked in confusion upon hearing Xiao Yulong’s order.
By this time, the soldiers of the Frozen Alliance had already withdrawn entirely.
“Idiots!” Xiao Yulong cursed. “How can you not think? The Duke has launched a full-scale attack. If the enemy sends troops, we can help the Duke hold them off. If they don’t send troops, we can follow our plan and launch a surprise attack on their rear!”
“Yes, I understand!” The guard replied loudly after hearing Xiao Yulong’s explanation.
Instead of showing any anger, he replied with full conviction.
“Alright, advance toward the set targets right away!”
……
By the time Rob returned to Chihu City, Du Fan had already come back with his two brothers.
“Now that Mr. Rob is back, let’s start our full-scale attack!” Duke Green said with a smile as he watched Rob land from the sky.
Ten thousand soldiers were left to guard Chihu City. Aside from the forty thousand troops already engaged in the surprise attack, another two hundred and fifty thousand soldiers from the Northern Army were stationed there!
Duke Green had brought the entire Northern Army into the territory of the Frozen Alliance!
Of course, Duke Green had his reasons for this. Rather than leaving behind a small force of a few tens of thousands, it was better to withdraw them all and create a power vacuum in the north!

In the eyes of Duke Green, conquering the Frozen Alliance was an inevitable outcome. Even if someone took the opportunity to rise up in the north of the Gavin Empire now, stabilizing the situation in the Frozen Alliance and then turning back to attack the north would be a trivial task.
…
Inside the main tent of the Frozen Alliance, Long Aotian was filled with anger.
“Four holy-grade experts died like that!” Upon learning that four holy-grade experts had been killed, Long Aotian was extremely furious, along with a sense of sorrow.
Even during the invasion by the northern army, none of the holy-grade royal members of the Frozen Alliance had perished!
Who would have thought that four of them could die in just one day!
“Your Majesty, it is said that those two teams repelled our forces after the four marquises died and continued advancing toward us,” said a man who appeared to be a general.
“Send more troops to intercept them immediately!” Long Aotian ordered loudly upon hearing the general’s words.
Just as Long Aotian gave this order, thunderous war drum sounds suddenly echoed from City Red Lake!
“Send someone to see what’s going on,” Long Aotian ordered right away upon hearing those deafening drum sounds.
Before anyone could leave, a soldier rushed in.
“Reporting to Your Majesty, the northern army of the Gavin Empire has launched a full-scale attack on us!” the panting soldier said.
“Fight back immediately! All holy-grade and above experts, follow me!” Long Aotian shouted.
“Yes, Your Majesty!” Everyone present replied at once.
Long Aotian was still deeply saddened by the death of the four holy-grade experts that day, but the emperor of the Frozen Alliance didn’t realize that these four deaths were merely the beginning!
…
Along with the thunderous war drum sounds, the soldiers of the northern army began to emerge one after another.
This time, it wasn’t the cavalry who fought first, but a large number of shielded infantry!
These infantrymen, armed with giant shields over 1.5 meters tall, stepped forward and stopped about a kilometer in front of City Red Lake. They planted their shields on the ground while holding great swords in their other hands, forming a line parallel to the city walls.
Immediately after that, a group of spearmen appeared. These spearmen lined up behind the shielded infantry, each holding spears over three meters long!
Following the spearmen was a unit of archers, and behind the archers were numerous cavalrymen!

20,000 shield soldiers! 10,000 spearmen, 10,000 archers, and the rest are heavy and light cavalry! The Green Family’s Northern Army relies on cavalry as its main fighting force, especially light cavalry! Of the 200,000 troops used for the final attack, aside from 40,000 infantry, there are 150,000 cavalry! Of these 150,000 cavalry, aside from 50,000 heavy cavalry, the remaining 100,000 are all light cavalry. The Northern Army also has 10,000 other troops, including mages, priests, engineers, and other special units. The light cavalry followed behind the heavy cavalry, continuously forming up beneath the walls of Red Lake City. Soon, the 200,000 troops were fully arranged in formation. Once the formation was set, the 200,000 troops of the Northern Army began slowly approaching the forces of the Frozen Alliance!
