Chapter 016: The Roar of the Earth

“And besides, elder brother, according to Prince Fischer’s plan, as long as we capture territory, our Green family can be granted half of it. Think about it, second brother—if we make a good impression on them now, it will be very beneficial for our family’s expansion!” Du Fan hurriedly said.
Not to mention half—in Du Fan’s eyes, the Frozen Alliance was essentially already his territory. Hmph, once he seized control of the Frozen Alliance, there would be no need for Fischer to come and claim the spoils. That’s what Du Fan thought.
To work so hard to take control of the Frozen Alliance only for Fischer to take half of it? Du Fan definitely wouldn’t tolerate such a loss.
Not willing to invest money or effort yet still wanting half of the rewards? How absurd! Du Fan thought angrily.
“Hmm, okay. I’ll arrange it right away,” Allen said promptly upon hearing Du Fan’s words. For some reason, Allen felt genuine admiration for his younger brother.
At such a young age, he had turned the tide during the chaos in the imperial city and become the most prominent figure under the prince’s patronage. He had been married off by the emperor, granted the title of count, and appointed governor of the south!
What excited Allen the most was that Du Fan had severely embarrassed the Lionheart Family in the capital. Not only had he killed dozens of Lionheart knights and two high-ranking officials, but he had also severed one of Randy’s arms—the family’s designated successor!
The Lionheart Family relied on their position as the military leaders, with control over military logistics as well. As a result, they would constantly try to trick the Green Family in various situations, and the military logistics department would exploit the Green Family’s northern army to the fullest.
Many high-ranking officials were well aware of the ongoing rivalry between the two families. So, Du Fan’s actions in humiliating the Lionheart Family was excellent news for Allen!
After Allen left, Naixiu, watching the intense battle, asked, “Du Fan, who do you think will win—them two?”
“Of course, it’s my elder brother Moses,” Du Fan replied with a smile.
“Why?” Naixiu asked, surprised as she watched the fierce fighting continue.

“Moses is my elder brother, the strongest magic warrior among the elves! A master of his domain—even if that old man merges with the Earth Bear, he’s no match for Moses! You must trust my brother!” Du Fan said with a smile.

Of course, Du Fan didn’t tell Nai Xiu that, through the observation of his True Eye, the seemingly vigorous old man was actually starting to decline in strength.

It was already a remarkable miracle that the white-haired man could fight against a strong-aged elf like Moses for nearly three hours. In fact, if it weren’t for the continuous energy from the Earth Bear after the merger, the old man would have exhausted himself long ago.

Sure enough, right after Du Fan said those words, the old man began to show signs of fatigue. This was evident in how slower his hands became at blocking Moses’ rapid sword attacks! His combat energy, once flowing freely, became intermittent, clearly insufficient to keep up.

Even Nai Xiu could clearly see that the old man, King Bear Xiong Tingbi, was starting to struggle.

After fighting for a few more minutes, Xiong Tingbi was already out of breath. Once exhaustion set in, it grew faster and faster!

He had been able to hold on as if nothing were wrong for hours, but once Xiong Tingbi felt exhausted, at his age, the loss of energy was like a powerful suction force, rapidly draining his strength.

Mid-fight, Moses suddenly swung his War Sword and stepped back.

“Sir, you can’t hold on any longer. How about we stop here? What if you surrender to us?” Moses couldn’t bear to hurt the old man with his sword, so he stopped fighting after gaining the upper hand and spoke to Xiong Tingbi.

“You’re quite good. I remember your name is Moses, right? Sir Moses, I, Xiong Tingbi, may die in battle, but I will never choose to surrender!” Xiong Tingbi declared firmly.

“I’ve said it twice already. I don’t want to say it a third time!” The king bear grew angry.

“Old Bing, I really didn’t expect you to have aged to this extent.” Suddenly, a deep voice came from Xiong Tingbi’s body.

“Haha, old friend, us humans can’t compare to you monsters! I’m over seventy years old now. An ordinary person like me would already be unable to move at home by now. The fact that I was able to fight on equal terms for nearly three hours is already quite impressive,” Xiong Tingbi said with a smile upon hearing his own voice.

“Yeah, human bodies are just so fragile! If only your body were stronger, allowing me to use 20% more of my strength, I could easily make these guys run away in fear,” the voice inside Xiong Tingbi laughed upon hearing Du Fan’s words.

“Xiong Tingbi, what trick are you playing?” Du Fan asked immediately, seeing Xiong Tingbi standing there as if talking to himself.

“Du Fan, I’m talking to my pet. What, do you also want to interfere?” Xiong Tingbi retorted upon seeing Du Fan’s reaction.

“Not at all, I’m just surprised. In a life-or-death battle, you suddenly start chatting with someone else—this is clearly meant to give me trouble!” Du Fan said loudly.

“Old Bing, this guy is really noisy. I’m going out to take care of him,” Xiong Tingbi said as a black light flashed around him. After the light disappeared, Xiong Tingbi gradually returned to his normal form. The black light then condensed in front of Du Fan.

A giant bear, two and a half meters tall with golden fur, appeared before Du Fan.

“Hey, kid, you’re quite skilled,” the golden bear said to Du Fan right away.

“Are you Xiong Tingbi’s partner?” Du Fan felt a strange sensation as he looked at the Earth Bear.

“Have you evolved?” Du Fan asked cautiously.

“Yes, I have evolved,” the Earth Bear replied promptly.

“Are you sure you can take on all of us three by yourself?” Du Fan asked with a smile.

“Yes, it’s just me against all of you three!” the Earth Bear declared.

Immediately, the Earth Bear let out a fierce roar. With its roar, waves of visible earth elements rushed toward it! Layer after layer, like thin layers of substance, covered the Earth Bear’s body!

As layers of light covered it, the Earth Bear now resembled a giant bear made entirely of light, its entire body glowing with a yellowish hue.
“Earthly Taboo: Roar of the Earth!” the Earth Bear suddenly shouted loudly.
Hearing this cry, Du Fan’s expression changed instantly!
The Roar of the Earth—a forbidden earth magic! It was also a wide-area attack spell. Indeed, the glow from the Earth Bear’s body continued to spread, until suddenly, all the earthly light vanished from it, and a thunderous roar echoed through the sky!
“Lao Bi! Your energy is running out. I’m about to be transported away! This is the magic I used to help you.” With those words, the Earth Bear’s body began to weaken, and as it weakened further, it disappeared abruptly.
Staring at where the Earth Bear had vanished, Xiong Tingbi murmured, “Old friend, you’ve really worked hard!”
Looking at the spot where the Earth Bear had left, Xiong Tingbi’s eyes showed a sense of desolation.
It was the sorrow of a hero growing old, of youth passing by, and it also resembled a sense of separation!
Just as the Earth Bear disappeared, a massive surge of energy emerged from beneath the ground at its former standing place.
That energy, carrying a destructive force, rushed toward Moses, Du Fan, and Nai Xiu!
On the ground, the soil kept cracking and rolling, forming spikes, spears, and projectiles that surged violently. The ground itself rippled outward like waves, and wherever that fierce energy reached, everything was in chaos!
Soon, that overwhelming energy reached where Du Fan and the others stood!
“Brother, quickly activate the Gravity Space Domain to suppress the range of the Roar of the Earth and minimize casualties!” Seeing the situation, Du Fan shouted loudly.
With that cry, Du Fan plunged his Thunder Sword into the ground, channeling all his energy underground to collide with the energy released by the Earth Bear’s Roar of the Earth!
Seeing Du Fan’s action, Nai Xiu also soared into the air, her arrow energy constantly forming arrows that she shot downward one after another!

Where Naixiu’s arrows struck, the earth’s energy was continuously consumed to counteract it. Du Fan’s energy surged underground, as if radiating outward, constantly washing away the power of Earth’s Roar!
However, with the Earth Bear gathering strength to unleash a forbidden spell, coupled with its innate mastery of earth magic, the power of Earth’s Roar became astonishingly strong!
Moshe desperately tried to maintain the gravitational space barrier, suppressing the violent force underground. Despite the relentless assault, blood began to flow from his nose!
“Brother Moshe! You must hold on! If Earth’s Roar is fully unleashed, the entire Bear City will be destroyed! There are hundreds of thousands of people here!” Du Fan shouted, seeing how hard Moshe was struggling.
Seeing that Du Fan was also fighting hard to hold back, Moshe nodded firmly.
Earth Bear’s Earth’s Roar released destructive waves of earth energy one after another, multiplying its power several times over!
As a result, Moshe and Du Fan faced even greater hardship. Moshe’s outer coat began to burst open, revealing the dragon-scale armor beneath—armor crafted by a master specially commissioned by the dwarves. Tiny blood vessels on his wrists also started to burst, and soon, blood dripped down his sword as he clutched it tightly.
Even so, Moshe continued to grit his teeth and persevere.
Meanwhile, under absolute protection, Du Fan suffered no physical harm, but his face alternated between redness and paleness, looking extremely frightening!
Just as Du Fan had shouted for Moshe to hold on, Xiong Tingbi stood frozen nearby, breathing heavily with a strange expression on his face.
