Chapter 008: Basha Becomes a God
Hearing Nayixiu’s coquettish voice, Moses coughed awkwardly twice. After those two coughs, Nayixiu showed no reaction, but Chenchen did. Whether intentionally or not, Chenchen said, “I thought it was some big deal, Master. It’s just packing stuff. If you had told me, I could have gone with you. It doesn’t matter if it’s hundreds of thousands of sets of weapons—even if it were the whole Glass City, I’d still help you pack it.”
“Alright, alright, come with me! Each of you takes half!” Du Fan said loudly.
“Hmph.” “Hmph.” The two women both snorted simultaneously, turned away, and followed Du Fan.
Watching the three leave, Moses helplessly dismissed the elves. Meanwhile, in Basha’s weapon warehouse, the sight of the two women grabbing weapons in large quantities left Du Fan in awe.
Nayixiu wore the Elf King’s Ring on her finger. The ring’s unique red hue, with streaks of green light, flashed continuously. As the light flashed, the weapons it illuminated disappeared.
Chenchen’s method of collecting weapons was similar to Nayixiu’s, but her hands emitted white light. Seeing the white light from her hands, Du Fan’s eyes took on a strange expression—this white light clearly carried a sacred aura!
As the white light flashed repeatedly, large quantities of weapons and armor disappeared as well.
What was even stranger was that Chenchen didn’t seem to wear any storage rings or anything similar. Anyway, those weapons and armor simply vanished.
The two rushed to collect them, and their speeds were almost equal. With their frantic efforts to gather as much as possible, the weapons and armor were quickly taken all.
Looking at Basha’s astonished expression, Du Fan said smilingly, “Second brother, we’ve finished collecting everything. What’s the problem? Judging by your face, should we leave some behind for your future use?”
“Oh, no, no. That’s not what I meant. Third brother, where did you find that woman? She seems quite powerful.” Basha asked in confusion.
“Didn’t your father tell you?” Du Fan asked.
“No, third brother. What’s going on? Why do you always have a beautiful woman following you after leaving? Could it be that it’s really easy to pick up girls out there?” Basha laughed.
“It was your father and the Grand Commander who said there was something they needed me to help with. But it wasn’t until that day that I found out their task was simply to get me inside a stone house. Inside that stone house, I saw Chenchen,” Du Fan said with a smile.
“Impressive, really impressive. I thought that even with all these weapons and armor I gave you, third brother, you’d still have to go through some trouble to transport them. Who would have thought that just two women could help you solve it so easily?” Basha said with a laugh.
Looking at the two women, Du Fan wasn’t sure whether to feel worried or happy. He hoped nothing bad would happen.
Chenchen’s appearance was slightly better than Naixiu’s, so in Naixiu’s eyes and heart, she felt somewhat uncomfortable around Chenchen. But what did Chenchen think? Probably only Chenchen herself knew.
“Alright, since the weapons and armor are all packed, let’s go back,” Du Fan said.
The two women exchanged another glance, sparks flying between them. Then, both snorted and followed Du Fan.
“Third brother, it seems these two will give you some headaches,” Basha said with a laugh. Even a simple, newly grown dwarf like Basha could tell that the two women were in a secret struggle.
Hearing Basha’s words, Du Fan smiled calmly. “What’s there to worry about? They’re both strong and great helpers.”
Fortunately, though they were fighting, it didn’t affect the overall situation much. The next morning, Du Fan received news that the Grand Commander and the Dwarf King had decided to enter the Divine Realm together that very day.
They really can’t wait! Du Fan thought. They’ve arranged everything so quickly and are about to enter the Divine Realm.
The message said that Du Fan could take people with him to see them, at the mountain top where the Dwarf King lived.
To get there, they naturally had to pass by Basha’s room. Inside Basha’s room, Moses, Leibao, and others were already waiting. Including Du Fan and Basha, that made five people in total.
It seemed only these five had been invited by the Dwarf King and the Grand Commander to go to the mountain top to see the two divine-level experts one last time.
Once they entered the Divine Realm, they would likely have no chance to return to the continent. To return, at least the Main God would need to break through the barrier between the two realms.
Since he followed Basha into the teleportation array in Basha’s room, they soon appeared on the mountain top where the Dwarf King resided. Standing there were three people, and one of them was none other than Tek, the second-in-command of the magical beasts.
“Basha, come here,” the Dwarf King said to Basha with a smile upon seeing the five of them teleport up.
“Father, I’m here. What’s the matter?” Hearing his father’s call, Basha hurried over.
“Basha, your uncle Tek has already become a god. After discussing it with the Great Commander, we decided to work together to quickly refine the divine essence within you, so that you can also become a god soon,” the Dwarf King said with a smile.
“Is… is that really possible?” Basha asked, his mouth wide open.
“Of course it is. Originally, with my strength and that of the Great Commander, it would have been somewhat difficult to refine your divine essence right away. But, hehe, your uncle Tek became a god as soon as he merged his divine essence. With the three of us, all at the divine level, we’re quite confident in being able to refine your divine essence ahead of time,” the Dwarf King said with a smile.
“Basha, though, even if you become a god, your strength will still be slightly inferior to mine. You should know that even before I merged my divine essence, I was already the most powerful being on this continent who was closest to a god. Now that I’ve become a god through merging my divine essence, I find that my strength is no longer that of a novice just entering the divine level,” Tek said, laughing at Basha.
“Originally, given Uncle Tek’s strength as the man closest to a god on this continent, it would have been quick for him to reach the divine level even without merging his divine essence. It’s quite normal for such a strange situation to arise after he became a god. Besides, Basha, I never thought I’d need to be stronger than you, Uncle Tek,” Basha said.
As for Tek, given his strength before merging his divine essence, it was hard to say when he might become a god on his own—what he lacked was merely a bit of sudden enlightenment!
Although Tek hadn’t reached the divine level yet, his accumulated strength over time still existed. After he merged his divine essence and became a god, that accumulated strength became a driving force for a rapid increase in power. This momentum allowed his strength to leap past the initial stage of a lower god and directly enter the early middle stage of that level.
With three experts at the middle stage of the lower god level working together to help Basha refine his divine essence, they indeed had great confidence.
“Haha, Basha, I didn’t expect you to become so eloquent. But you’ll need to flatter me properly from now on, you know. I’ve merged with the divine essence of a mid-tier god—sooner or later, I’ll break through to become one too. Hehe, Basha, it seems you’ll always be behind Uncle Basha.” As he spoke, Tek burst into laughter.
“Tek, are you done?” Just as Tek’s eyes sparkled with excitement, the Great Commander suddenly spoke up.
Hearing the Great Commander’s words, Tek immediately became serious.
“Brother, I was just joking with Basha.” Seeing that the Great Commander was displeased, Tek quickly clarified his words.
“I hope it was just a joke. Otherwise, when you reach the divine realm as well, heh heh,” said the Great Commander, stopping further explanation.
“Brother, once you go to the divine realm, I’ll definitely work with Basha to create a harmonious Twilight Mountains. I’ll live in peace and friendship with Basha!” Tek emphasized firmly.
“Enough, Tek. Stop talking nonsense. Come help Basha refine the divine essence first,” said the Great Commander.
Hearing Tek’s words, the Great Commander couldn’t sense any sincerity at all. However, he knew his brother well enough to understand that since he had given orders, his brother would surely stop suppressing Basha in the future.
“Okay, brother.” Hearing this, Tek quickly went over to Basha.
“Let’s all go inside,” said the Dwarf King.
There was a reason for the Dwarf King to suggest entering the house. The three divine-level experts would need to use their divine power to melt the divine essence in Basha’s head, which would inevitably attract attention from the world around them. If that happened, they might be absorbed into the divine realm, which wasn’t what the Dwarf King and the Great Commander wanted.
The Dwarf King led the way into his house, followed by Basha, then the Great Commander and Tek. Du Fan and the others followed behind.
The three of them stretched out their palms and placed them on Basha’s head. Three faint lights began to circle around Basha’s head. These faint lights were actually streams of divine power, which continuously flowed into Basha’s head. Centered around Basha’s head, red halos began to emanate, enveloping his entire body. Once they covered him, they were absorbed back into his body.
After about half an hour, everyone heard a faint, clear sound coming from Basha’s body. After that sound, the halos around his head stopped emitting light.
With the sound and the disappearance of the halos, the three divine-level experts withdrew their hands from Basha’s head. Basha also sensed something and opened his eyes, standing up.
Once Basha stood up, everyone could clearly feel that his aura was completely different—obviously, he had become a god.
Moses, Du Fan, and Naixiu had seen many gods before, so they immediately realized that Basha had become a god upon seeing his state.
“Second brother, congratulations on becoming a god,” Du Fan and Naixiu said in unison to congratulate Basha.
“Second brother, I never expected you to become a god so quickly,” Moses said happily as well.
