Chapter 005: Druid
“Naixiu, do you have any way to break through such a gravity space?” Du Fan said to Naixiu once he returned to the room.
After hearing Du Fan’s explanation of Moses’ gravity space, Naixiu also began to think.
“Many of our elves’ archery techniques rely on arrows to function. I think those arrows, having entered Moses’ gravity space, will be greatly affected as well,” Naixiu said, frowning.
If Moses were to see this scene now, he would likely be so angry he’d spit blood. Du Fan was simply helping Naixiu gather information—finding out Moses’ weaknesses. As for Moses, a demon warrior, Naixiu had no confidence in winning against him, yet Du Fan still helped her assess his strengths.
“Don’t you elves have any archery techniques that use pure energy attacks?” Du Fan asked after thinking for a moment.
“Yes, but they’re mostly taboo-level techniques that consume a lot of arrow energy,” Naixiu replied.
“I remember that to harm Moses, we can only use pure energy attacks. And I’ll teach you a method. It’s like this,” Du Fan said, bringing his mouth close to Naixiu’s ear.
“Isn’t this a bit despicable?” Naixiu asked, uneasy after hearing Du Fan’s tactics.
“Then do you want to get the Eternal Bow? Do you want to improve your strength? Do you want to avenge your parents?” Du Fan pressed hard.
“It’s not just a desire—it’s a necessity,” Naixiu replied firmly.
“Then do as I say,” Du Fan ordered.
“Alright,” Naixiu said after thinking. She really couldn’t think of any other way to guarantee a victory over Moses, so she agreed.
“That’s much better. Good girl,” Du Fan suddenly laughed and pinched Naixiu’s buttocks.
“Du Fan, you!” Naixiu jumped in surprise and snapped angrily.
“Ah, is it a mistake for me to pinch my wife’s buttocks once?” Du Fan acted pitifully. After saying that, he went straight to a chair and lay down to sleep, not giving Naixiu a chance to scold him further.
The next day, Moses’ match started right away. His opponent was an elf mage, at the realm powerhouse level.
At the beginning of the match, Moses leaped into the air and swung his sword at the mage!
From dozens of meters away, it seemed to the elves as though Moses had only taken four or five steps as he moved through the air. His sword struck the mage’s head and slashed down instantly!
That magician didn’t even have time to dodge and was struck by Moses’ sword. With a “snap,” the magician suddenly dispersed everywhere and vanished—it was a clone! That magician had actually used a clone trick! As the clone disappeared, countless magicians suddenly appeared around Moses! Hundreds of them surrounded Moses tightly, moving around while chanting strange spells in unison. Moses was stunned by so many magicians and began slashing at them one by one with his long sword. The clones kept dodging, but were blown apart one after another by Moses’ attacks. After spending over a minute, those clones vanished, replaced by a strange creature that suddenly appeared on the scene—it even resembled a beast in appearance. “A druid!” Du Fan was shocked upon seeing the creature. Druids were the guardians of the goddess of nature in legends, akin to the angels of the God of Light! Ordinary druids possessed strength above the sacred rank! It seemed that this magician, realizing he was fighting a demon warrior, had tried to buy time first, then summoned a powerful close-combat ally to engage in battle. Sure enough, after the druid was summoned, it fought against Moses with bare hands! Its fists, made of some unknown material, were completely unafraid of Moses’ sword, resisting it with sheer force. Though its fists were hard, Moses was stronger—his physique, enhanced by the Blessing of the Spring of Life, was even more formidable. Faced with the druid’s resistance, Moses slashed repeatedly with even greater force. Streams of sword energy destroyed the druid’s body. With the strength of a domain master, Moses didn’t need to resort to tricks against a sacred-rank druid; he didn’t even use his domain ability. The druid roared in pain under Moses’ attacks, its eyes turning red. That magician continued chanting spells before turning into a wisp of smoke and entering the druid’s body. “Combination!” someone shouted! It was a combination technique—merging the summoned entity with oneself, allowing the combined being to inherit the strengths of both and greatly enhancing its power! After combining, the druid’s body suddenly doubled in size, its muscles bulging as if covered in tiny snakes, exuding an overwhelming sense of power.
“Bang!” The fist collided with Moses’ long sword, and the immense force sent Moses stepping back!
The druid, now in a merged state, also possessed the strength of a domain master!
Moreover, the druid’s innate divine power was even stronger than Moses’!
A single punch had sent Moses stepping back!
“Good, good! I’ve never seen such strength before. Take this Triple Force punch!” Despite being pushed back, Moses smiled.
As a holy-grade expert among the demon warriors, Moses rarely encountered opponents in the elf race who could match his strength. Now, facing a master who could rival him after merging, he wasn’t nervous at all—instead, he became excited.
He immediately put away his sword and fought the druid hand to hand.
With a bang, their fists collided. Moses stepped back again, while the druid took several steps back and ended up sitting on the ground.
Triple Force was one of Moses’ ultimate moves—delivering a punch that emitted three consecutive forces, leaving the opponent unprepared! The druid also suffered a setback; when his fist met Moses’, he didn’t hold back at all, and after Moses’ punch, two more forces followed.
This setback caused the druid to collapse to the ground!
With a roar, the druid’s entire body was enveloped in a shimmering emerald green light, making him even more formidable under that glow.
His roar generated massive sound waves that hurt Moses’ eardrums. He threw a punch at Moses, who blocked it with his own fist.
With a crash, Moses’ legs were crushed into the ground by the force of that punch!
Elven demon warriors were known for their powerful close-quarters combat skills. But this mage first bought time with shadow clones, summoned a druid, and then merged with them.
In doing so, the mage used two forbidden-level spells, whose power was now being revealed.
Converting magic into close-quarters combat, this mage was truly clever in facing off against demon warriors.
Excited by the fight, Moses didn’t use his proper combat techniques. Having been purified by the Spring of Life, he wanted to see just how strong his body really was!
Although that druid pinned Moses to the ground, Moses wasn’t actually hurt at all—it was just that the druid’s power was so great that the ground couldn’t bear it! Moses became utterly excited, throwing punches like rain, one after another at the druid, leaving the magician in great pain. He had thought that by merging, he could not only use the druid’s power but also cast his own spells, but under Moses’ relentless fast punches, he had no time to cast any spells at all. The magician had anticipated the strength of the demon warrior, but he hadn’t expected Moses, after undergoing the baptism, to be so extreme. After all, there hadn’t been a master who had gone through the baptism of the Spring of Life among the elves in thousands of years. Those rapid punches gradually became too much for the druid to endure. Thin streams of blood began to appear at the druid’s mouth. In terms of strength, the two were roughly equal; the difference lay in their physical endurance. Moses’ body, having undergone the baptism, had much higher endurance and recovery abilities than the merged druid. After exchanging hundreds more punches, the druid spat out a mouthful of blood and collapsed to the ground with a loud thud! The druid lying on the ground kept changing forms, and eventually, he turned back into the magician. The magician lay on the ground, blood flowing from his mouth, unconscious. When the summoned druid was defeated and disappeared, the magician, as one of the summoners, had to bear part of the damage, which already left him severely injured. “Powerful… truly powerful,” Du Fan commented after watching Moses fight against the merged druid—a battle resolved entirely through punches, without any trickery. Relying solely on his absolute strength, his formidable body, and his power, Moses won this victory through great effort and excitement. On the other side, the duel between Naixiu and another archer was also extremely exciting. Their strengths were similar, and inside the barrier, they clashed with forbidden-level archery techniques! The magnificent battle scenes were like a grand visual feast! This round was somewhat similar to Moses’ earlier fight—Moses and the magician had clashed with raw strength, while here it was a clash of archery skills! When both of their arrows were exhausted, they were forced to engage in close combat.
In the close combat, Naixiu emerged victorious. Thanks to her highly trained and strong physique, she won this match easily.
When the three winners drew lots again, Naixiu was lucky enough to be exempt from the next day’s competition; she could directly compete for the championship against the winner of the second day.
Thus, Naixiu advanced to the finals.
The three matches were all over in just one morning.
In the afternoon, Saito had Du Fan summoned to the chieftain’s room.
“Elder Du Fan, have you noticed anything unusual these past few days?” Saito asked suddenly.
“It seems everything is normal,” Du Fan replied.
“The tribe where Frida is from has disappeared entirely. I just heard the news,” Saito said, frowning.
The elves have always been trusting and peaceful. Yet, with Frida clearly having been corrupted, no one investigated her tribe.
After Frida was eliminated, her tribe lost all chance of competing for the Eternal Bow. As a result, few people paid any attention to her tribe anymore.
The camps of the various elf tribes were spread out widely, so it was two days after Frida’s tribe disappeared before any elf noticed.
