Chapter 011: No Need to Hide Anymore

Garfield seemed momentarily stunned before asking, “What do you mean?”
Landy, however, seemed to chuckle lightly and said, “Actually, dealing with that brat Du Fan isn’t as difficult as Your Highness thinks… Though he’s somewhat skilled, he was so overconfident this time, bringing only a few men into Odinburg. If You Highness confronts him openly, even Prince Leoport wouldn’t dare to help Du Fan in public. With Du Fan’s meager forces, not to mention fighting—even if all 100,000 troops in Odinburg spat at him, they could drown him, right?”
“But then…” Garfield took a breath. “That would deviate from our plan. I do want Du Fan dead, but I don’t want to anger your Duke Green. Besides, Du Fan also has close ties with the Holy Church. If both sides refuse to back down, I’ll be in big trouble too.”
“Your Highness,” Landy smiled coldly, “those who achieve great things don’t worry about trivial matters. Just kill Du Fan—nothing more. As long as you can wipe out everyone who’s come in, that’s it. Don’t forget—our Lionheart Family will handle everything… I guarantee neither the Holy Church nor the Northern Legions will take any unnecessary action!”
Garfield sighed. “It’s not that I don’t trust you… But given the current situation of the Gavin Empire, I’m afraid the Lionheart Family’s influence isn’t enough!”
Landy chuckled. “If it were just our Lionheart Family involved, I might as well not have come… But if our Prince Fischer is also involved…”
Before he could finish, those words reached Du Fan’s ears. Even though he was usually calm, he almost exclaimed in shock!
Prince Fischer really wanted to kill him too!
If before he had only vaguely suspected this, now, with Landy saying it aloud, those suspicions had become reality!
He never expected that despite his close relationship with Prince Fischer and his significant role in the coup, the prince still wanted to have him killed—such was the cunning of rulers!
Living near a king was like living near a tiger—this truth held true in any era!
Full of doubt, Du Fan couldn’t help but want to go to the entrance to look, but Margaret also came over, and their heads collided with a “bang”!

Despite both being top-notch experts, the sudden collision caught them off guard, and they both let out a low cry at the same time: “Ouch—” Though the sound was faint, it immediately alarmed the two below! Sure enough, they heard Garfield smile lightly and say, “Which friend is visiting up there? I’ve heard enough of your voice—time to come and meet in person!” Immediately afterward, there was a loud noise as half of the roof was lifted, and a ghostly figure rushed out of the house—it was Garfield! He was wearing the same clothes as during the day, but the elegant smile on his face had vanished, replaced by a fierce murderous intent. An astonishing aura spread from him. Even before he could clearly see who had arrived, he flicked his finger, sending a wave of cold energy out from his tip, while shouting, “Since you’re here, don’t even think about leaving!” Du Fan reacted swiftly, realizing that Garfield’s move had reached a state of simplicity and effectiveness. Though he hadn’t used any specific techniques, that single gesture had sealed off all escape routes for him and Margaret. Before Du Fan could react, Margaret let out a groan, raised her hand, and a beam of holy light flashed out, meeting the cold energy head-on. With a loud “boom,” both exploded simultaneously. Almost at the same time, Margaret grabbed Du Fan by the collar, and there was a series of cracking sounds as large pieces of tile were crushed to dust. Then, the two tumbled together through the hole that suddenly appeared in the roof. The house was exquisitely decorated, filled with priceless furnishings. With their fall, countless gold coins must have been shattered. Standing inside the room and looking up at the roof, Randy was clearly stunned by the appearance of the two, but he reacted quickly. In the blink of an eye, his long sword was drawn and pointed at them. Before Margaret could react, Du Fan instinctively flicked his finger, sending a wisp of combat energy out from his tip, which met Randy’s sword head-on.

With a “boom,” Du Fan felt his entire body’s energy surge, almost forcing him to spit out blood. Normally, such an impact wouldn’t affect him at all, but since he had just suffered a heavy loss at Margaret’s hands that day, he temporarily forgot that fact. Under this sudden assault, Du Fan felt his vision go dark and nearly fainted.

At this moment, Margaret didn’t care whether Du Fan was unconscious or not. Though these attacks were quick, the sound of skilled fighters breaking through the wind could already be heard in the distance. Margaret snorted and said, “Damnards!”

After saying that, she pulled Du Fan up, ignoring Randy inside the house, and rushed toward the window before tumbling out.

Randy had intended to chase after them but suddenly seemed to remember something. He quickly changed his direction and slapped his chest, causing a trickle of blood to flow from his mouth. Only after doing this did Garfield descend from the roof, asking immediately, “Where are they?”

Randy pointed toward the window and said quickly, “They ran away! Prince Garfield! We must catch those two! They must have heard our conversation. If they get away, things will get very troublesome!”

Garfield sneered but didn’t say much. He simply turned to look at Randy and said coldly, “Why didn’t you stop them?”

Randy forced a bitter smile, wiped the blood from his mouth, and said, “It’s not that I didn’t try to stop them—I just couldn’t!”

Garfield looked at Randy thoughtfully, nodded after a moment, and then said calmly, “Indeed. If those two could hide in such a place and withstand one of my attacks, at least one of them must be at the Saint level. Otherwise, how could they have escaped? It’s normal that you couldn’t stop them!”

With that, Garfield prepared to chase after them.

But Randy took a breath and said, “Your Highness, wait! If my guess is correct, these two were probably sent by Du Fan. We must not let them escape under any circumstances! If they get away, our plan might…”

Garfield’s expression changed slightly as he made an instant decision. He snapped, “Young Master Randy, it seems I have to act now, no matter what. Whether it’s LeoPorto’s men or Du Fan’s, we must strike immediately—or else… we’ll face more trouble later! So, as planned, let’s act tomorrow! For now, you’d better go back quickly. Don’t let that little brat Du Fan suspect anything, or it could ruin our plans for tomorrow!”
Randy nodded slightly.
Garfield said no more. As soon as he finished speaking, he dashed out like lightning and vanished into the night sky in an instant.
Inside the house, only Randy was left. He seemed to smirk coldly before saying calmly after a moment, “Prince Garfield, if you want to blame me… if I hadn’t forced you to act, who knows how much longer you would have delayed? It’s always those who act later who suffer. How can you, as a prince of a nation and a master of the sacred realm, still not understand this?”
After saying that, Randy’s figure suddenly blurred, and in less than a moment, he mysteriously disappeared into thin air.
…
Du Fan felt his blood boiling throughout his body, as if his chest was about to explode.
It wasn’t surprising—Du Fan was at his weakest right now, yet he had managed to block Randy’s sword strike. Randy’s skills were still unknown, but the sword energy from that strike had pierced deep into Du Fan’s body, leaving him so frustrated he almost vomited blood.
Throughout his career, had Du Fan ever failed to escape unscathed? But this time, he failed at such a critical moment. Who could be blamed?
It was that damned woman who had tricked him into coming here to eavesdrop and even injured him before they arrived!
Wasn’t this framing?
Truly, women’s hearts are the most venomous!
Du Fan cursed inwardly, but he couldn’t utter a word. Margaret had already wrapped her arms around his waist and carried him half on her back. Though the situation was somewhat intimate, with half of his body pressed against her sexy form…
he didn’t feel the slightest hint of desire. All he felt was a suffocating frustration, as if he were about to vomit blood…
He was a master after all, yet now he was being carried away by a woman… If anyone saw this, he would be finished!
