Chapter 011: Forbidden Magic

The allied forces of the Temple Knights and the Black Armored Army crashed head-on into the vanguard of the Bauhinia Dynasty’s cavalry. Cries of agony filled the air immediately—many were thrown off their horses in the collision and trampled to pieces by the chaotic hooves. Even the sturdiest armor could not withstand such violence.

Several elite knights at the head of the Temple Knights swung their long spears like dazzling fireworks, each strike sending bursts of silver light accompanied by streams of crimson blood. The spears pierced through the victims’ major arteries, turning the knights’ shiny armor blood-red.

The training ground, already resembling a battlefield, showed no change despite the bloodshed. Instead, the fresh scent of blood seemed to ignite the deepest desire for slaughter in people’s hearts, further chaos ensuing.

Though the Bauhinia Dynasty’s cavalry were strong warriors from the north, they were far inferior to the crown prince’s elite guards. With thunder strikes breaking their morale, they retreated under the relentless assault of the Temple Knights.

The Temple Knights moved like tigers among sheep, slashing with their spears and swords, leaving the cavalry defenseless. Almost everyone was shouting; those who fell from their horses screamed in pain. They tried to get up but ended up killed by a single sword strike, their heads flying into the air.

Countless voices merged into one roar: “Kill!!! Kill them!!!”

The leading knights had their silver armor stained blood-red, their bodies covered in flesh fragments. By the time they clashed with the Bauhinia Dynasty’s cavalry, countless enemies lay dead. They fought silently, showing no trace of the compassion or mercy expected of knights. Perhaps such compassion was reserved only for their own allies.

The Temple Knights and Black Armored Army acted like scorching blades, cutting through the cavalry. Wherever they went, the Bauhinia Dynasty’s cavalry scattered—no one could stop them.

Behind the cavalry, those standing beside Oscar wore expressions of disbelief. Some even wiped their glasses, wondering if they were hallucinating.

Could ten thousand cavalry not withstand a thousand?

Among the cavalry, the general leading them simply pointed in the direction of the Templars and the Black Armored Army and shouted loudly, “Kill! Charge over together and kill them!” Yet his voice was drowned out by the screams of countless people. The chaos on the battlefield was beyond his control—steel warriors kept falling and rising everywhere, and blood flowed like rivers, covering almost the entire ground. In the air, Abraham, with a calm expression, collided with Ampere, who had a fierce look on his face. Given their respective powers, even a casual gesture from either of them would likely cause earth-shaking effects. But neither Abraham nor Ampere seemed ready to engage in a full-scale battle at close range. Ampere simply pointed, and black magical energy gathered around his right index finger as he aimed it at Abraham’s forehead. Abraham snorted, shifted slightly, and retreated at a speed comparable to that of a warrior. Then, with a quick motion, he sent a chain of lightning at Ampere. Ampere’s body flashed briefly before darkening, and black blood appeared at the corners of his mouth. Yet he continued to sneer, staring intently at Abraham. “Now that you’ve hurt me… are our strengths roughly equal? It seems we can have a fair fight now…” Ampere said coldly. The injury didn’t seem to deter him; instead, his tone carried an unmistakable arrogance. Abraham wasn’t angry either; instead, he smiled gently for once and said softly, “Ampere, do you still want to leave alive today?” What should have been an angry remark came out of Abraham’s mouth like a friendly greeting. Ampere’s expression darkened even more, and he rushed at Abraham once again. Brilliant magical lights flashed in the air, their brilliance seemingly capable of engulfing everything. This was a battle that ordinary people could never comprehend. Neither Abraham nor Ampere intended to keep their distance from the start—this rule that mages are good at attacking from afar but not defending up close meant nothing to them. Lightning, fireballs, ice shards, deadly auras, sacred impacts…

Countless dazzling spells were cast in an instant. This wasn’t achieving instant casting by using magic scrolls like Du Fan did; it was true instant casting! Any spell in their hands was equally powerful and absolute. With a mere movement, a slight finger gesture, or even a glance, it would appear instantly and be sent toward their opponent. In this almost unbelievably small space, the two moved at lightning speed like shadows, making it impossible to determine who could locate the other’s position. The air was filled with chaotic magical energies, and the gusts of wind generated by various spells howled everywhere! Their incredibly high mastery of magic and their skill in instant casting meant that countless spells struck each other within seconds. In such a short time, their battles became like a storm, with countless exchanges taking place. Even Francis, if he were to witness this fight, would be stunned. To fight against mages of this level, unless he used his sacred domain right away, he might never get the chance to do so. It was only now that Ampere truly showed his true strength. If he had fought with such determination during his battle with Du Fan, even with the protection of the Divine Origin, Du Fan would likely have died many times over. The two clashed again—Abraham unleashed a bolt of lightning, which was blocked by Ampere’s wind blade. Then, with a “boom,” one of Abraham’s rings turned to dust in the clash. At the same time, a bizarre magical aura suddenly emerged from behind Ampere. Ampere smirked coldly, as if he had been waiting for this moment for a long time. Abraham was shocked and threw two small fireballs, only to see himself slide through the air and end up behind Ampere. He noticed that Ampere’s clothes had turned to dust at some point, and now two bone-like wings were slowly growing from his back, still dripping with blood, as if the bones forming these wings had been forcibly taken from Ampere’s body. “Forbidden magic? You’ve even learned the magic of the demons?” Abraham’s expression changed, and he couldn’t help but exclaim. Ampere let out a series of unpleasant cackling laughs: “As long as I can gain power, I’m willing to learn not only the demons’ magic but also the magic of the Abyssal Purgatory!”

With that, Ampere let out a vicious laugh and snapped his fingers twice. Immediately, the pair of bone wings unfolded, revealing dozens of tiny magic arrays on them. Dozens of bone spears infused with black energy emerged from them and shot toward Abraham at high speed.

Then, along with successive incantations, countless more spells rushed toward Abraham. Ampere used forbidden magic to buy himself some time to chant spells, as it was well known that chanting could multiply the power of spells several times over.

Faced with this onslaught that was almost like a tidal wave, Abraham frowned slightly. Various colors of magical light burst from his body, perfectly blocking each of Ampere’s spells. Aside from having to dodge those dozens of bone spears, the remaining spells couldn’t even make Abraham move an inch.

He must be insane…

Abraham sneered inwardly, also feeling a bit surprised. Though he knew Ampere was known as a master of forbidden magic, he never expected him to have learned even the magic of the demon race! Those spells must have come from within the Mage Guild…

Seeing Abraham’s actions, Ampere merely sneered coldly. By now, his wings behind him had fully spread out, making him look like an abyssal demon. As he waved his hands, countless more curses spells rushed toward Abraham.

“Foolish!”

Abraham finally let out a low growl. Suddenly, he waved his hands slightly forward, unleashing a rather ordinary divine shock. Yet its power was astonishing.

But when Ampere saw this small divine shock, his expression changed instantly. Before he could react, he saw his spells ignite in mid-air the moment they touched the divine shock.

It was the radiant holy flame, which spread like a python, instantly engulfing Ampere’s entire body.

He only had time to let out a scream before everything was consumed by the flames.

A strange glint flashed in Abraham’s eyes. He sighed softly and said, “Don’t you know that the magic of the demon race was already judged by the great Light God long ago?”
