Chapter 010: The Magician’s Battle (3)
In the arena, Abraham saw his attack blocked and showed no surprise. Though his move was powerful, he hadn’t intended to defeat his opponent with just one strike. At that moment, observing the reactions of the two great magicians, he realized everything: “So Master Barbari specializes in fire magic, while Brisbane specializes in necromancy… These two masters are truly formidable. It seems I, Abraham, need to bring out my best as well!”
Brisbane snorted. The magic circle around him still existed, but the chaotic bones had disappeared. Staring at Abraham coldly, he said, “Show us what you’ve got, Master Abraham… If you hold back at a time like this, it won’t end well, will it?”
Abraham smiled slightly, unfazed at all. Calmly, he said, “There’s no need for you two to worry about that… It’s been so long since I’ve had a proper fight like this. Since I’ve finally found an opponent today, I, Abraham, will surely go all out!”
With that, Abraham raised his hands again. The two rings in his hands collided suddenly, like fingers snapping. With a “whoosh,” a human-height hexagonal magic circle appeared before him, filled with lightning, ice, wind, fire, poison gas… Various magical lights formed a dazzling stream that rushed toward Barbari and Brisbane like a meteor shower.
A glint suddenly flashed in Barbari’s narrowed eyes. He laughed heartily and said, “Isn’t this the Wind Magic Dance? It seems Master Abraham truly possesses great magical skill, able to use such a move… But sadly, though it’s powerful, I happen to have a way to counter it!”
As he spoke, he smoothly rotated his wand in midair, seemingly drawing a hexagonal rune. Then, he leisurely pointed it at the swirling stream of magic…
Suddenly, the flock of firebirds circling around Barbari rushed at the incoming stream of magic. In midair, these firebirds lost their original form and turned into a vortex of flames, crashing violently into the colorful stream of magic…
Then, a thunderous explosion was heard. Both sides exploded almost at the same time…
In a moment, the dust in the air slowly settled. Abraham still stood calmly in mid-air, but on the side of Barbari and Brisbane, Brisbane, thanks to the protection of the magic array beneath his feet, was unharmed. However, Barbari’s originally white magic robe was now covered with countless tiny holes, giving it a rather ragged appearance—clearly, he had also suffered some damage from that attack.
Abraham, facing both Barbari and Brisbane alone, was still able to deal Barbari some harm. From this comparison, it was obvious who was stronger!
The three people in the arena were well aware of this, and those watching understood it as well. Prince Fischer already had a smile on his face. The eldest prince, on the other hand, looked displeased, but he merely watched without taking any further action.
Master Barbari felt somewhat embarrassed after suffering this loss, but as a great mage, he still maintained his composure. He stared at Abraham and said calmly, “Master Abraham is truly skilled. Now I understand why President Edward instructed us before we left to act together against you… If it weren’t for you having to guard against Brisbane’s attack, I would likely have suffered heavy losses by now.”
Abraham shook his head and said, “The two of you are indeed powerful together—I admit that… But further talk is pointless… Let’s continue!”
With that, Abraham’s right hand suddenly formed a claw shape, and he quickly recited a series of magic spells that ordinary people could never understand. Then, a blue light appeared on his right arm, enveloping it like armor.
Seeing this blue light, Barbari’s expression changed abruptly, as if he suddenly remembered something, and his face turned pale. Brisbane, however, still looked puzzled and was about to ask a question… But at that moment, Abraham gave them a cold glance and sharply pointed his right hand in their direction.
Three blue beams of light shot out from Abraham’s arm like lightning, rushing toward Barbari and Brisbane. A piercing sound of wind filled the air, as if the heavens themselves were about to be torn apart.
Barbari finally shouted, “Damn it! It’s Wind Demon Break! You actually know how to use Wind Demon Break!”
After saying those words, Barbari suddenly gritted his teeth and pulled a scroll from his large magic robe. Without hesitation, he threw it forward. Immediately, a giant hexagram appeared before Barbari, with six beams of light rising in the air and converging around him.
Brisbane had been somewhat puzzled at first, but upon hearing the words “Wind Demon Break,” his expression turned extremely grim. Without time to think further, he dived into the magic circle beneath his feet. This great mage intended to hide in the spatial passage created by summoning undead creatures to avoid Abraham’s attack.
Watching their actions, Abraham frowned slightly before suddenly sneering and saying, “A Guardian God Barrier? It seems that old Edward has really gone all out this time!”
As soon as he finished speaking, with a loud “boom,” the three streams of blue light collided violently with the six beams of light in the air. The beams seemed weakened by the blue light, but soon the first beam turned to dust with a “ding” sound, followed by the second, third, and so on.
As the blue light continued to strike, the beams disappeared one by one, and the blue light gradually weakened. Yet even so, Barbari’s face grew increasingly pale as the beams vanished. Finally, when the blue light hit the last beam, it completely disappeared. The disappearance of these beams seemed to have a profound impact on Barbari; he swayed unsteadily in midair, and blood gushed from his mouth.
Brisbane, having hidden in the spatial passage, managed to avoid Abraham’s attack. When he reappeared, his expression was grim, but he was unharmed.
Seeing this, Abraham snorted and said, “I wonder how long you can hold out!”
With that, he raised his right hand again, and a wave of fire rushed toward Barbari and Brisbane.
Barbari’s face twisted in horror at the approaching fire wave, while Brisbane realized that Barbari was too weak to withstand this attack. If Barbari lost, he would definitely not be a match for Abraham.
With that thought, Brisbane moved in mid-air and arrived in front of Babari. Sensing the heat wave rushing toward him, he gritted his teeth, suddenly took out a magic crystal ball from his bosom, and threw it forward forcefully. Instantly, the magic crystal ball floated in front of him. Then, he spun his wand sharply, pointing one end directly at the magic crystal ball… A terrifying wailing sound came from within the magic crystal ball, and countless skeleton soldiers and undead appeared before Brisbane almost simultaneously. Following his action, they rushed headlong into the oncoming wave of fire… Under the intense heat of the flames, those undead creatures instantly turned to ashes, but the aura of death emanating from them could still corrode the flames… Abraham seemed unprepared for Brisbane to use such a mutually destructive tactic to counter his move. He snorted coldly and said, “Only such desperate tricks? It seems the members of the Mage Guild are nothing special after all!” With that, Abraham raised both hands, causing the wave of fire to split to the sides, allowing him to avoid Brisbane’s desperate maneuver. Watching this scene, Brisbane gritted his teeth again, pointed his wand once more, and quickly recited a series of complex magic spells… Soon, all the dark aura inside the magic crystal ball in front of him was drawn away completely. The undead and skeleton soldiers in mid-air also exploded into powder, forming a pure aura of death. These auras combined and gradually took shape, eventually forming a giant skeleton made entirely of bones. The skeleton landed on the ground, its eyes glowing as it roared at Abraham with hostility. A hint of seriousness flashed in Abraham’s eyes. He couldn’t help but touch his forehead and hesitantly said, “Demon summoning? It seems the members of the Mage Guild do have some skills… They even resorted to such desperate tactics… But do you really think one big demon can deal with me? You underestimate me, Abraham!”
