Chapter 006: Please Uncover Your Clothes
Shamans in any country or region share one identical trait: hypocrisy.
So, faced with this situation, even the mighty Grand Knight had no choice but to nod slowly and say, “You say…”
Du Fan’s expression was utterly holy as he whispered earnestly, “As a child of the gods, I wish to pray for myself one last time before dying. Is that allowed?”
The Grand Knight considered for a moment before nodding slightly. He had already recognized this man as the so-called worst failure in the history of the Green family. Such an ordinary person who couldn’t do anything was impossible to escape from him. Moreover, as a shaman, Du Fan had shown extreme piety over the years, so his request before death seemed entirely reasonable.
The kind-hearted Grand Knight finally nodded and said softly, “Pray for yourself, priest. Pray that you may still receive the grace of the gods in your next life.”
“Yes, my Lord Knight,” Du Fan replied, lowering his head slightly with his eyes darting around. “The gods… are watching you…”
Yet despite saying this, Du Fan was secretly anxious—where exactly was the woman who had spoken to him just now?
“Hey… stop searching… I’m right in your hands, fool…”
Just as Du Fan thought it might have been his imagination, the voice sounded again—this time with an indescribable hint of shyness.
His pupils contracted… Du Fan’s gaze suddenly fixed on the strange woman in his arms. Nervously, he tightened his grip even more… Wow… it’s really tight…
“Is that you speaking?” Du Fan thought. The nearby knights hadn’t heard the woman’s voice, so she must be using some unusual method of communication. Since he was pretending to pray, he couldn’t make a sound, so he had no choice but to take this gamble.
“You’re quite clever… figuring out my way of communicating so quickly,” the woman in his arms seemed to laugh. Moreover, Du Fan realized it wasn’t sound he was hearing—it appeared suddenly in his mind, which was extremely eerie.
Fortunately, Du Fan had lived two lives and possessed experiences far beyond those of an ordinary person, so he didn’t scream. He also knew time was pressing, so he immediately asked the crucial question in his mind: “Who are you? Why are you here? And surely it’s you who caused me to end up in this basement, right? What exactly do you want?”
“Is that important now?” The woman’s coquettish voice rang out again. “What you should care about now is how we get out.”
“We?” Du Fan frowned, then sadly realized that aside from listening to this woman’s words, he seemed to have no other way to escape.
But after a moment of thought, Du Fan understood—that this strange woman he had set free probably really had a way to help him get through this ordeal.
At such a time, saving one’s life was the only thing that truly mattered; everything else was secondary.
So Du Fan’s expression became even more solemn as he quickly asked in his mind, “Then how should we get out now? Do you have any idea?”
The woman seemed to giggle in Du Fan’s mind and said, “Why do we have to escape? Can’t we just walk out openly?”
“How can we walk out?”
“Is it that difficult to walk out?” The woman’s voice began to sound strange. “As long as you’re willing to accept me… willing to accept everything I give you… as long as you have that resolve… then you can definitely walk out.”
Hearing this, Du Fan was stunned for a moment before laughing inwardly. “Woman, don’t tell me you have a way to enable someone like me, who can’t cultivate combat energy or magic, to do so? But even if that were the case, would they give us time now?”
“Magic? Combat energy?” The woman’s voice was filled with disdain. “If you really want to cultivate those things, I can give you the most advanced manuals in this world at any time. Even if your physique is the worst suited for cultivation, I have ways to change that. But do you really think those things will allow you to walk out of here alive? Well, since you know nothing, I can’t blame you… You should know that there are five level-8 knights surrounding you, and even more at levels 6 and 7. Unless you possess holy-level power, in this situation… combat energy and magic are both useless… But if you’re willing to accept everything I give you, then… all of these people before you will end up as corpses on the ground.”
“Enough nonsense,” Du Fan thought to himself. “If you have time for talk, just start already… Whatever you give me, huh, as long as it lets me get out of here alive, I’ll accept it all.”
“Then… let’s form a contract…” The woman’s voice sounded strangely peculiar… After that plain tone, Du Fan suddenly felt a sudden, unexplained sharp pain in his head… Then his whole body trembled… An indescribable feeling filled him entirely…
“Now… do you understand?” The woman sighed slightly. “With this power… can’t you still get out of here?”
Du Fan smirked slightly, a strange smile appearing on his face. His murmuring had stopped. He hugged the woman and slowly stood up, staring at the grand knight leader before him.
The grand knight leader glanced at Du Fan coldly and snorted, “Have you finished praying? Then… die without any complaints.”
“Oh… no… it’s not like that, my respected knight leader…” Du Fan’s voice carried an indescribable charm. “Before that, could you listen to me for a moment? This is… my final gift to you.”
The grand knight leader was stunned. He had intended to kill Du Fan right away, but upon hearing his words, his heart stirred. It felt as though Du Fan before him was his own mentor, making him feel compelled to listen to him.
With this feeling, the grand knight leader said in a low voice, “Please… go ahead and speak.”
Although the other knights found it somewhat strange, they also felt a peculiar sensation in their hearts—as if, if they didn’t act according to Du Fan’s words… they would feel uncomfortable all over.
“Well then…” Du Fan smiled slightly. “Actually… there’s only one thing I want you to hear… a very simple thing… Distinguished knights of the Temple Knight Order… would you… be willing to die for me?”
“What… what… are you… joking?” the Grand Knight muttered, but his voice grew weaker by the end.
At first, the knights present wanted to laugh—what nonsense was this madman talking about? But soon, each of them felt something: Yes! Why not die? Why not die for him!
The scene became extremely eerie. The knights’ hands holding their silver spears trembled repeatedly… Then, each of them gently turned their spears, aiming the tips at their own throats, and said in unison, “As you wish, Your Majesty!”
Before the words faded, the knights thrust their spears at once. The protective auras surrounding them were undoubtedly broken through again and again by the force of their own auras…
A soft sound was heard, and streams of blood gushed out. In no time, the space was dyed red. Yet, with the spears supporting them, not a single knight fell.
Under the faint light of the magical runes on the walls, the scene appeared utterly bizarre, like a hellish realm.
It was then that Du Fan took a deep breath, sat down on the ground, and placed the woman in his arms there. He said, “Woman… is this the so-called power you gave me? What is it? Hypnosis? Or mental magic?”
“Hypnosis? Mental magic? Such lowly things?” The woman still lying on the ground spoke softly. Her voice was exactly the same as the one that had come from within Du Fan’s mind earlier.
“That’s…” Du Fan shook his head. “Never mind. Just tell me directly—why is it that suddenly, I felt as if no matter what I said, these knights would obey?”
“It’s very simple,” the woman said calmly. “Because I just granted you power. This power isn’t anything special—it’s the power of words, the ability to change order through speech. It must be one of the mental magics you mentioned. But this ability isn’t invincible either. Its effect varies depending on the opponent’s mental state and abilities. If those surrounding you earlier had been high-level magicians or saints, then this ability would be completely useless.”
“As long as it’s not a magician or a saint, does this ability definitely work?” Du Fan asked seriously.
“Yes…”
“Then…” Du Fan suddenly jumped up and quickly untied the silver chains binding the woman. “Then, woman… take off all your clothes…”
