Chapter 0715: The Hongmeng Treasure Appears
“Can’t fly?!” Huang Long and Huo Yang exchanged glances, frowning. This was the first time they had encountered such a situation.
Since they couldn’t fly, they had no choice but to walk!
Of course, their walking speed wasn’t much slower than flying, though the terrain did affect it somewhat. Huang Long seemed to be strolling leisurely, but with each step, he could cover hundreds of miles. Huo Yang, on the other hand, appeared as a ball of fire, moving swiftly as if floating, his speed on par with Huang Long’s.
Huang Long’s expression remained calm, but Huo Yang was astonished to see that Huang Long’s walking speed was comparable to his own, especially when he noticed the elegance of Huang Long’s movement patterns and the underlying laws of the universe at work.
In the deepest layers of the Xuanhuang River, darkness reigned above and light below. As Huang Long and Huo Yang walked through it, it felt as though they had entered two separate worlds.
As they walked, Huang Long tried to extend his spiritual sense into the dark areas high above, but it was blocked back. His eyes narrowed, and after several attempts, his expression grew even more serious.
Huo Yang also noticed this problem, his expression similar to Huang Long’s.
Half a month later, the two arrived at a mountain range. Standing atop a peak, Huo Yang frowned. “Is there really a Hongmeng treasure in the deepest layers of the Xuanhuang River?!” Over the past half month, they had only encountered vast plains and mountains—nothing else. Not to mention any Hongmeng treasure, not even a trace of other creatures. Huo Yang began to doubt whether the existence of such a treasure was just a rumor spread by outsiders!
Huang Long also frowned, unsure now. Could it really be just a rumor?
Yet, he wasn’t willing to give up just yet.
“Let’s keep looking!” Huang Long mused. “If there are rumors, there must be something behind them.”
Huo Yang nodded.
So, the two extended their spiritual senses and continued searching on foot. Another half month passed, and just as they were about to lose hope, suddenly, Huang Long’s spiritual sense detected a faint fluctuation of power ahead. Though weak, it caught his attention.
“What’s wrong?” Huo Yang asked, puzzled by Huang Long’s expression.
Huang Long explained what he had sensed.
“Oh, then let’s go take a look!” Huo Yang said after some thought.
Huang Long nodded.
And so, the two headed toward the source of the faint power fluctuation. After a while, they arrived in front of a mountain peak. The peak wasn’t very tall, surrounded by flat ground, making it stand out somewhat.
After the two of them arrived at Huanglong, they scanned the area and fixed their gazes on the cave entrance at the mountain’s waist, which emitted a faint yellow glow. The entrance was not large, but an oppressive atmosphere emanated from within, making the two of them feel uneasy. They leaped forward and arrived at the cave entrance. They exchanged a glance and entered the cave one after another. Once inside, Huanglong released Qingyun and held the Chaos Bell above his head as a precaution, while Huoyang summoned his Divine King form with great care. The oppressive atmosphere in the cave filled them with deep unease. Inside, everything was covered in a white haze, making it difficult to see clearly. Huanglong simply activated his Heavenly Eyes and saw that the cave walls were as smooth as mirrors, reflecting a milky light. The tunnel was only about ten meters wide but twisted and winding, giving the impression of a snake coiling around. Huanglong and Huoyang moved forward cautiously; aside from the white haze, there was nothing else. However, as they went deeper, the oppressive atmosphere grew clearer and stronger. After several days, suddenly, the surroundings changed, and their bodies sank as they arrived on a spacious plain. The plain was filled with fragrant flowers and trees of all kinds, each emitting a brilliant glow. What surprised them even more was the intense spiritual energy surrounding them. In Huanglong’s Immortal Pavilion, there was a spiritual gathering array set up by Huanglong. After advancing to top-tier immortal artifacts, the spiritual energy in the pavilion had become highly concentrated. But the spiritual energy here was no less intense than that in the pavilion—indeed, it was even stronger! Yet, the two paid no attention to these strange flowers and trees or the intense spiritual energy. Instead, they both stared at a pagoda standing ahead! The pagoda was towering, shining with golden light, and had twelve layers. The oppressive atmosphere that had troubled Huanglong and Huoyang all along came from within the pagoda. Huanglong stared intently at the pagoda, which reminded him of Pangu’s most powerful sacred treasure—the Celestial Yellow Luminous Pagoda! Among Pangu’s treasures, it ranked first in terms of defensive power. With this pagoda above one’s head, one would be invincible against enemies—of course, assuming the difference in strength between them wasn’t too great. Clearly, this pagoda was also a top-tier spiritual treasure. But in Huanglong’s view, although it was a top-tier spiritual treasure, it still didn’t reach the level of a Hongmeng supreme treasure; at most, it was a top-tier Hongmeng spiritual treasure. The two of them stood there, motionless.
“Let’s go,” Huang Long said after a while.
Huo Yang snapped back to reality and nodded. “Okay, but this tower is dangerous—be careful!”
Huang Long nodded.
Thus, the two of them flew toward the treasure tower. In this open space, they regained their ability to fly.
The tower seemed to be right in front of them, but by the time Huang Long and Huo Yang actually reached it, half an hour had passed.
Standing in front of the tower, Huang Long looked up at its towering height and noticed that intricate talismans were carved on certain parts of its body. These talismans were connected together, winding all the way from the base to the top of the tower.
After some thought, Huang Long flew around the tower but found no entrance. It seemed as though the tower had grown out of the ground, like an ancient giant tree with no entrance at its base.
Huo Yang also searched carefully but couldn’t find any way in.
Huang Long and Huo Yang returned to the tower. Looking at it, Huo Yang frowned and asked, “What do we do now?!” If there was a supreme treasure in this lowest realm, it should be inside this tower. But since they couldn’t even find an entrance, how could they get in?!
Huang Long remained silent. He flew closer to the tower and touched the intricate talismans connected along its surface. Finally, he stopped in front of a circular talisman in the middle of the tower that connected to these talismans.
Huo Yang watched Huang Long’s actions.
Huang Long stared at the circular talisman, his eyes suddenly gleaming. He punched it. At that moment, the tower emitted a fierce light, and an overwhelming force burst forth from the circular talisman, rushing toward Huang Long like a tide and colliding with his attack.
With a loud roar, Huang Long’s body shook as he was sent flying away, while the tower remained standing firm.
Huo Yang was shocked and quickly flew to Huang Long’s side.
“Are you okay?!” Huo Yang asked anxiously.
Huang Long shook his head. He used the power of the immortal spirit within him to calm the turbulent energy in his body, then looked again at the circular talisman in the middle of the tower.
Earlier, Huang Long had figured out that the key to entering the tower lay with that circular talisman connecting the intricate talismans on the tower’s surface. His attack confirmed his guess!
“That circular talisman is the key to entering the tower. Let’s work together to break its sealing power!” Huang Long said after a while in deep thought.
Hearing this, Huo Yang glanced at the circular talisman in surprise before nodding.
“Alright, let’s act together now!” Huang Long exerted all his strength, activating his dantian. Dual dragons of water and fire coiled around his body, golden clouds surged forth, and with a fierce shout, he threw his fists at the circular talisman.
At the same time, Huoyang also took action. Two crimson beams of light emanated from his hands, their power far exceeding that of Huang Long.
Just as Huang Long and Huoyang’s attacks reached the pagoda, the circular talisman suddenly emitted a golden glow. As it spun, a golden pillar collided with their attacks.
Boom! Another thunderous explosion echoed, sending Huang Long and Huoyang reeling back. Meanwhile, on the pagoda, after a flash of light, a “bang” sound was heard—the golden glow of the talisman vanished, revealing a circular opening.
Inside the opening, a swirl of dark yellow light danced unpredictably.
Seeing this, Huang Long and Huoyang were overjoyed and rushed to the circular opening. However, before entering, they didn’t rush in immediately. Huang Long used his divine sense and heavenly eyes to explore the inside of the pagoda, but his divine sense was blocked, and what his heavenly eyes saw was nothing but a blur of white.
In the end, with no other choice, Huang Long withdrew his divine sense and heavenly eyes. After careful consideration, he released the Hongmeng Thunder Beast and the rogue dragon Zerom to guard outside the pagoda, while he decided to enter and investigate himself.
Huoyang originally intended to accompany Huang Long inside, but considering the unknown dangers within, Huang Long asked him to stay outside.
With the Chaos Bell above his head, Huang Long’s physical form flashed into the pagoda.
As soon as he entered, his body sank as he found himself beneath a vast sky filled with drifting clouds, with nothing else around.
Yet, once inside this space, the unsettling aura that had troubled Huang Long and Huoyang before grew even stronger, as if it were right in front of them.
Huang Long flew carefully forward. Half an hour later, suddenly, a huge altar appeared before him.
This altar stretched for countless miles in every direction, with four massive stone statues of divine beasts situated at each corner.
Huang Long realized that one of the stone statues actually resembled the Cambrian Sacred Beast he had encountered in the Cambrian Abyss—only scaled down countless times.
The other three stone statues were in the shapes of dragons, tigers, and phoenixes!
What caught Huang Long’s attention most was a bronze cauldron with eight legs in the center of the altar, emitting a grayish aura!
“The ultimate treasure of Hongmeng!” flashed through Huang Long’s mind!
