Chapter 0668: Alliance Formation
“Kill that kid first!” Long Gong waved his hand, ordering the clan members of the Execution Hall behind him.
Huang Long could be killed, while Huang Fei and his daughter Huang Yi would be captured by the Execution Hall for interrogation!
“Yes, Elder Long Gong!” More than a dozen clan members of the Long Shen Family’s Execution Hall replied respectfully before rushing at Huang Long Fei.
Seeing this, Long Gong ignored Huang Long and focused on Huang Fei. If Huang Fei had indeed swallowed the divine pill, its effects should be able to elevate him from mid-level Grade 8 to the peak of early-stage Sacred Realm!
The peak of early-stage Sacred Realm still required caution from Long Gong. As for Huang Long and Huang Yi, they could be completely ignored.
“Huang Fei, don’t say I didn’t give you a chance—I’m letting you strike first!” Long Gong sneered at Huang Fei.
“Let me strike first?” A mocking smile appeared on Huang Fei’s lips. With a flash, he obeyed the order! He leaped up and instantly appeared in front of Long Gong. Under Long Gong’s astonished gaze, he threw a punch.
“You?!” Long Gong’s eyes widened—such speed!
Suddenly, he realized he had miscalculated one thing: Huang Fei was by no means at the peak of early-stage Sacred Realm; he was far beyond that!
At that moment, as more than a dozen clan members of the Long Shen Family’s Execution Hall surrounded them, Huang Yi took action. She raised her jade hand and waved lightly, sending out an invisible spatial wave.
Instantly, those clan members were thrown back as if crushed by heavy mountains. Blood sprouted into the air, and cries of pain filled the air.
With continuous thuds, they crashed to the ground.
By now, Huang Fei’s attack had reached Long Gong. In panic, Long Gong countered with a strike. With a loud noise, he was also flung backward, landing beside those clan members.
Long Gong gasped, spitting out blood. He stared in disbelief at his clan members lying motionless on the ground, then turned to see who had done this—Huang Yi!
With just a wave of her hand, she had eliminated more than a dozen Grade 9 warriors, including some at the peak of late Grade 9. Such strength was beyond even him, a peak mid-stage Sacred Realm warrior.
How could Huang Yi do this?!
Suddenly, Long Gong felt the world had become absurd. He had investigated and found that Huang Yi, Huang Fei’s daughter, was merely a mid-level Grade 7 warrior! And Huang Fei himself was at the peak of Sacred Realm!
After that sudden impact, he realized that Huang Fei was actually a peak expert of the Sacred Realm, far stronger than him by an entire rank! Generally, only the first pill taken had the best effect, while the second one had little impact, so he ruled out the possibility of Huang Fei taking two divine pills in succession. Thus, there was only one possibility—the problem lay with the divine pills themselves! The divine pills Huang Fei had taken were definitely not ordinary low-grade ones; otherwise, it would have been impossible for him to break through from mid-level eighth rank to the peak of the Sacred Realm! He knew that even among divine pills, there were different grades, with even low-grade ones varying in quality. At that moment, he saw the black-haired young man slowly walking over, while Huang Fei and his daughter Huang Yi stood behind him. “Elder Huang Long, what should we do with Long Gong?” Huang Fei asked respectfully. Huang Fei actually sought advice from that black-haired young man?! Long Gong widened his eyes; suddenly, he seemed to understand something. Seeing Long Gong’s expression, Huang Long knew he must have guessed that the sudden surge in Huang Fei and Huang Yi’s strength was related to him. “What should we do? What do you think?” Huang Long asked, looking at Huang Fei. Understanding Huang Long’s intent, Huang Fei turned around, condensed combat energy in his hands, and stepped toward Long Gong. As Long Gong watched Huang Fei approach slowly with a murderous intent, he clearly felt death approaching, filled with fear and panic. “You, Huang Fei! I am an elder in charge of the execution hall of our clan. How dare you kill me?” Long Gong shouted feebly, rising and retreating. Meanwhile, the green-eyed wolf standing nearby was already stunned by the changes before his eyes, standing there with his eyes fixed on the descendants of the Dragon God Clan lying on the ground and Long Gong, who was forced to retreat under Huang Fei’s pressure. Facing Long Gong’s “intimidation,” Huang Fei couldn’t help but smile—seemed the other party still didn’t realize the situation. But this was Dragon City; no wonder they thought he wouldn’t dare kill them! If it were just him, a peak expert of the Sacred Realm, they certainly wouldn’t dare, but with Elder Huang Long backing him, everything changed. Moreover, his daughter was now a peak expert of mid-level Divine Realm. Over the years, Long Gong, as an elder in charge of enforcing punishments, had acted as a lackey for Huang Heng, dealing with many dissidents among their clan and harming his own kin. Over a decade ago, one of Huang Fei’s cousins had died at his hands. If Huang Fei killed Long Gong, he wouldn’t hesitate. With Long Gong’s terrified gaze, Huang Fei moved—his hands condensed combat energy into blades, and in an instant, he was in front of Long Gong. With a wave of his hands, he struck swiftly.
Long Gong tried to retreat in panic, but he found himself completely unable to move. All of Huang Fei’s attacks landed on him. Two blades pierced through his body, and after a while, blood seeped out from his chest. With wide eyes, Long Gong stared at the blood streak running across his chest, unable to believe that Huang Fei actually dared to kill him in Dragon City! “Family head, he… he will avenge me. The entire Dragon God Clan will not let you go!” Long Gong said intermittently, blood gushing from his throat as he collapsed. Lying on the ground, he convulsed a few times before coming completely still. The Green-Eyed Wolf suddenly woke up, let out a terrified scream, and tried to fly away. Seeing this, Huang Fei flashed forward, delivered a punch. The punch hit the Green-Eyed Wolf’s face, blood spewing from all five senses, leaving its face numb. “Lord Huang Fei, please, spare me!” The Green-Eyed Wolf’s consciousness grew blurred as he spoke to Huang Fei intermittently. But just as he finished speaking, he was sent flying by another punch, his consciousness vanished, and his breathing stopped. “Let’s go!” said Huang Long. Although the area around them was isolated, staying too long would surely alert others. Just as Huang Fei was about to ask Huang Long what to do with the corpses, the bodies of Long Gong, the Green-Eyed Wolf, and the others suddenly turned into a swirl of golden-red flames and disappeared instantly. “Is this the technique of a god-tier powerhouse?” Huang Fei looked at Huang Long with awe. Huang Yi was also shocked—despite her strength at the peak of the middle stage of the Divine Realm, she couldn’t see how Huang Long made those corpses disappear. The three of them left the scene. Sure enough, not long after they left, several groups of members of the Dragon God Clan appeared in the vicinity. Yet no matter how hard they searched, they couldn’t find any clues. In the center of Dragon City, at the Dragon Mansion… “What? Elder Long Gong and the others have disappeared?!” Huang Heng’s expression changed upon hearing the report from his family guards. “Yes, family head,” replied one of the family guards respectfully in the hall. “Where is Huang Fei?” Huang Heng asked after a pause. “Huang Fei and the others are at the Honglai Hotel now,” the family guard answered. Huang Heng frowned. Huang Fei and his companions were fine, but Elder Long Gong and the others had disappeared. They had gone to capture Huang Fei, so their disappearance must be related to him. Yet there were still some things he couldn’t figure out. If their disappearance was related to Huang Fei, then who had captured them? Huang Fei? Impossible!
Huang Fei, no matter how rapidly his strength increased, should not be a match for Elder Long Gong. Huang Fei’s daughter? Huang Heng shook his head—even less likely. As for that dark-haired young man, he was said to be around twenty years old and seemingly just a ninth-level warrior.
Huang Heng pondered deeply.
“Family head, what should we do now?” After a long while, one of the family guards asked cautiously.
Huang Heng raised his head, his brows furrowed, and said, “Continue to keep an eye on Huang Fei and the others. Report immediately if anything unusual happens.”
The family guard replied respectfully and then stepped back.
“Tomorrow is the family assembly!” Huang Heng watched the retreating guard, tapping lightly on the table beside him. The sound of “bang! bang! bang!” echoed in the quiet hall.
“Reporting to the family head, Marshal Lodar of the Tanghai Empire has arrived!” A moment later, another family guard rushed into the hall and spoke respectfully, breaking the silence.
“Oh, that old fellow Lodar has come.” Huang Heng raised his head, a glint in his eyes, then stood up and headed toward the side room.
Huang Heng naturally knew Lodar’s purpose.
Decades ago, they had both been students at the Divine Wind Academy and close friends. Decades later, things had changed—one had become an empire marshal, the other the head of a major family. Moreover, if they failed to form an alliance, they might even become enemies in the future.
Upon entering the side room, Huang Heng glanced at the tall Lodar sitting there. At that moment, Lodar also looked over.
Instantly, their eyes met, causing a slight disturbance in the air around them.
“Lodar!”
“Huang Heng!”
They spoke at the same time, then laughed at each other as they walked toward one another, patting each other’s shoulders firmly before hugging.
After a while, the laughter ceased, and they sat down to talk about family matters. The atmosphere was quite cheerful.
“Huang Heng, I’ve already reported the conditions your uncle Huang mentioned last time to our emperor!” Lodar suddenly said.
The atmosphere stiffened. Huang Heng straightened up and said thoughtfully, “I wonder what your emperor thinks?” Suddenly, he grew nervous. What if the emperor of the Tanghai Empire disagreed? In fact, he knew his father’s conditions were rather harsh, but he couldn’t change his father’s decision.
Lodar stared at Huang Heng and said, “Our emperor has agreed!” He said it casually, but the tense atmosphere immediately relaxed.
Huang Heng was stunned for a moment, then burst into laughter. “Great, great! I’ll go inform my father right away! Don’t worry, once this is done, at tomorrow’s family assembly, we’ll announce that the Dragon God Clan will pledge allegiance to the Tanghai Empire!”
