Chapter 0551: The First Floor of the Tianchen Temple

When Huang Long and the others opened their eyes again, they were no longer inside the grand hall. The altar had disappeared, and they stood on a vast green plain. As they looked around, everything they saw was green.

A powerful life force, as vast as the sea, washed over them. Before this life force, Bradd and the others felt suffocated, like fish out of water.

“Something’s wrong!” Nyaa’s voice rang out as she looked around solemnly.

Susan and the others also had serious expressions, their eyes filled with confusion.

In previous teleportations to this Tianchen Temple via the altar, the scene had not been like this.

The Tianchen Temple consisted of an inner and an outer hall. They didn’t know how many floors the outer hall had; they had only been able to enter the first three floors, where they were driven back by a group of terrifying, unknown creatures.

Huang Long expanded his spiritual sense and found that it could cover at most about a million miles.

“Be careful!” Huang Long said.

Bradd and the others replied respectfully.

Without saying anything else, Huang Long ordered the Huang family members to follow closely behind him, then took off and flew forward. The first floor of the outer hall was enormous—Huang Long and Susan flew for a whole day yet still saw no end to it.

How big was the Netherworld? From south to north in the Netherworld, Huang Long could fly there in less than half a day. One could imagine just how vast the first floor of the outer hall was.

Along the way, the mountains, plains, and even lakes Huang Long saw were all green—everything was eerily green.

“Be careful!” As they flew, suddenly, a vine shot up from the ground below and rushed toward Bradd, startling Bog and the others.

Bradd condensed his divine power and slashed downward, instantly cutting the vine in two. However, although the severed vine was broken, new branches grew from the stump, continuing to attack Bradd. Then, countless more vines emerged from beneath the ground, attacking Bog and the others—including Huang Long.

Huang Long’s eyes flashed, and the vines attacking him instantly turned into dust.

Bradd and the others launched their attacks as well, their divine powers surging. In the blink of an eye, all the vines disappeared.

Huang Long snorted coldly and slammed his palm on the ground. The ground trembled, and then countless green liquids spilled out, making the already green land even greener.

“What kind of creature is this?” Humphert asked.

These creatures had appeared three times on Tianchen Mountain, and they had never seen such beings before. Judging from their attacks, they were quite powerful—probably on par with high-ranking gods at the Great Perfection stage.

Although they were not afraid, they furrowed their brows. As far as they knew, the higher one went in the Tianchen Temple, the stronger the creatures one encountered. In the first three attempts, those that appeared on the first floor were usually creatures of peerless strength, but now, even the first floor had creatures of Great Perfection strength?! “Let’s go!” said Huang Long, and they continued onward. However, everyone became much more cautious. Though these creatures only possessed Great Perfection strength and posed no threat to them, based on Nyaa and the others’ past experiences, the real threats were the storms, lightning, and black holes that appeared out of nowhere in the temple. These storms, lightning, and black holes could arise at any moment, and even the supreme gods could perish if they weren’t careful. There was one Supreme Divine Weapon on each floor of the outer hall, possibly hidden in various corners. Yet, after two days of searching, Huang Long and the others still hadn’t found a trace of it. Huang Long didn’t take the Supreme Divine Weapon seriously, but it was the key to accessing the next floor, so he had to find it on the first floor before proceeding. Despite not finding the Supreme Divine Weapon, Huang Long and the others had been “harassed” by those green creatures hidden underground for the past two days, killing countless of them along the way. These green creatures resembled ginseng trees, covered in tree roots, with human faces on their trunks. Since no one knew their name, they were simply called ginseng trees. Two days passed, then the third, the fourth—entire months went by without finding the Supreme Divine Weapon, causing Huang Long to frown. “Let’s split up and search!” he said. Though he didn’t care much about the time, it was still better to find it as soon as possible, because Tianchen Mountain only existed for a hundred years. After that, they would be sent away, and the mountain would disappear. Huang Long spoke, and they divided into three groups: one group consisting of the Huang family, another with Bradd, Wayne, Borg, Yamo, and others, and the third with Nyaa and the other supreme gods. Seeing the Huang family form a group, Susan opened her mouth but said nothing. “Sister Susan, come with us!” Huang Yi, seemingly reading Susan’s thoughts, said with a smile. Realizing her thoughts had been seen through, Susan’s cold face turned red. Feeling the gazes of the others, she gritted her teeth and nodded, not daring to look at Huang Long at that moment. Everyone could see clearly what Susan felt for Huang Long and smiled.

“Brother Huang Long, I… I also want to join you!” At that moment, Li Yifeng’s shy voice was heard, shocking everyone. Huang Liang smiled ambiguously and said, “Brother, Sister Susan wants to be with my second brother. What about you?” Then he winked at him.

No matter how thick-skinned Li Yifeng was, he still blushed and looked at Huang Yi. Huang Yi stood there, already bowing her head, too afraid to look at anyone else. Li Yifeng then turned to his father, Nia.

“Enough, you kid! Now that you have a sweetheart, you don’t even want your father anymore. Get lost! Staying by my side, you’re just an eyesore!” Nia looked gloomy, clearly heartbroken.

Everyone burst into laughter.

And so, they split into three groups to search separately. Bog, Humphert, and the others said goodbye to Huang Long before flying away.

“Let’s go too!” Huang Long glanced at Susan before flying forward. Seeing him look over, Susan avoided his gaze. When she saw he didn’t object, she was secretly pleased and flew behind Huang Long with Huang Yi and the others.

“Sister Susan, I heard that the first time you met my second brother, he had just joined the Runing family, right?” Huang Yi asked with a smile.

Unprepared for Huang Yi to suddenly bring up this topic, Susan blushed. She glanced at Huang Long ahead and nodded. She couldn’t help but recall the time when Kennedy brought Huang Long to the Main God’s Space to “meet” her. Back then, Huang Long was just a mid-tier god, but now…

Susan couldn’t remember exactly when Huang Long’s image had been imprinted in her heart—was it during the mutation of the Ancestral Dragon Pool? She still remembered arriving at Ancestral Dragon Mountain after receiving Kennedy’s report. There, Huang Long was sitting in the Ancestral Dragon Pool, his immense aura and the results of three days and nights of evolution shocking her greatly. It was then that Huang Long’s image seemed to be imprinted in her heart, though faintly. As Huang Long “revealed” his twelve divine avatars in the Land of Forgetfulness, that image became a bit clearer. Later, during his journey to hell and his breakthrough as an unparalleled warrior, the image became even clearer. The scene where Huang Long killed the Water Domain Lord Eirwen left her deeply astonished.

Recalling all these moments, Susan’s gaze became distant. Sensing Susan’s unusual look, Huang Long turned back and met her eyes. Seeing the tenderness in her gaze, he was stunned.

Susan looked extremely similar to the Queen Mother of the West; aside from one being cold and elegant and the other charming, they were practically identical. Thus, when Huang Long first saw Susan, his heart was stirred beyond control. However, over time, he wasn’t sure whether his feelings for Susan were love or merely an alternative form of longing for the Queen Mother of the West. So, he let things take their course without forcing anything further. Now, seeing Susan’s dreamy and tender gaze, his heart stirred again.

Huang Long turned away, flying in silence. Seeming to sense something unusual between his second brother and Susan, Huang Yi said nothing more. Ten days passed in this manner.

One day, as Huang Long and the others were flying, suddenly, lightning flashed in the sky, and purple lightning pillars crashed downward, covering an area of thousands of miles. These purple lightning pillars pierced through space, and their terrifying power made Huang Liang and the others feel threatened by death. In shock, they all summoned their divine weapons and attacked the purple lightning pillars.

Huang Long immediately took to the air and threw a punch. As his punch struck, the purple lightning vanished.

Just as Susan and the others were attacking the descending purple lightning, suddenly, a huge black hole appeared not far behind Susan. A powerful sucking force emanated from it, trying to devour Susan. Caught off guard, she flew backward toward the black hole, her face filled with panic as she let out a cry.

Hearing Susan’s cry, Huang Long quickly turned around. Seeing her in danger, he grew anxious, shouted loudly, threw another punch, then dashed toward her.

His punch struck the black hole, causing its sucking force to spin and stall. By then, Huang Long had reached Susan and instantly wrapped her in his arms, pulling her away. At the same time, with a thought, he summoned the Five Directions Spirit Flags to protect the surrounding area.

Spirit energy from the five directions poured out from the flags. When the purple lightning pillars hit them, they trembled. Then, Huang Long unleashed his divine power, enveloping everyone, and they quickly exited the range of the purple lightning pillars.

By the time they stepped out, the purple lightning pillars in the sky and the black hole had mysteriously disappeared.

“Are you okay?” Huang Long asked, looking at Susan.

Feeling the warmth from Huang Long’s hands on her waist, Susan avoided his gaze and said softly, “I’m fine.” In truth, even without Huang Long, she would have been fine—just caught off guard by the suddenness of the situation.

“Second brother, you’re biased!” Huang Yi said with a pout.

Huang Long smiled inwardly; so this girl was blaming him for acting first to save Susan?
