Chapter 0489: The Demon Mountain
Huang Long decided to head to Tiandu Peak and told everyone about it that very day.
Since Huang Long had made the decision, there was nothing left for others to say.
So, that day, Huang Long and the others left Tang Ancient City and set off for Tiandu Peak, with Wayne following them as well.
However, although Tiandu Peak and Baicao Peak both belonged to the Guangqing Region, the two peaks were not close to each other—Tiandu Peak was located in the far east of the Guangqing Region, while Baicao Peak was near its center.
Hell, Colin Continent.
“Huang Long went to the Realm of the Light Supreme God?!” General Xik of the Red Demons was shocked.
General Eidi replied respectfully, “Yes, General. According to our investigations, Huang Long is now at Baicao Peak in the Guangqing Region of the Realm of the Light Supreme God. He clashed with the Dogra family in Tang Ancient City at Baicao Peak.”
“Heh, this Huang Long never stays put!” Xik sneered. “Huang Long, I didn’t expect you to hide in the Realm of the Light Supreme God. But do you really think you’re safe there?” He had been frantically searching for Huang Long these days. It made sense now that he hadn’t seen Huang Long around recently.
“General,” Eidi hesitated.
“What is it? Speak up,” Xik said, frowning.
“According to reports, when Huang Long clashed with the Dogra family at Baicao Peak, he summoned tens of millions of Red Demon Prison Beasts,” Eidi said gravely.
“What?! Tens of millions of Red Demon Prison Beasts?! Are you saying it’s Huang Long?!” Xik, who had initially been indifferent, changed his expression upon hearing Eidi’s words and blurted out.
Eidi nodded solemnly. “Yes, General!”
Even Xik, a powerful Upper Divine at the peak of his strength, couldn’t help but gasp in shock.
“General, this Huang Long is too terrifying. I think we should abandon the matter of the Rebirth Stone…” After a while, Eidi cautiously suggested.
Xik raised his hand, snorted coldly, and said, “I have my own plans for this!”
Seeing this, Eidi dared not speak further.
In fact, if it were just the Rebirth Stone, Xik wouldn’t have pursued it further. But now, the Rebirth Stone no longer mattered.
The Supreme Divine Artifact! A glint appeared in Xik’s eyes. No matter what, he would not give up this Supreme Divine Artifact. Even if Huang Long was extremely powerful, nothing else mattered in the face of such a treasure.
“Eidi!” After a while, Xik spoke.
“Here, General!” Eidi replied respectfully, tense.
“Issue orders to withdraw and return to the Red Demon Valley,” Xik said firmly.
Huh?! Upon hearing this, Aidi was stunned and looked in shock at their commander-in-chief—retreat? Right now, their Scarlet Demon clan was forcing the god-tier warriors of the Colin Continent to retreat step by step. Were they really planning to withdraw to Scarlet Demon Valley?
“Retreat!” Sik repeated, paused for a moment, then added, “So far, hundreds of millions of god-tier warriors from the human race have died at the hands of our Scarlet Demon clan. Our anger over the Cycle Stones has also been satisfied. If we don’t retreat, do we really intend to conquer the entire Colin Continent?”
Conquer the entire Colin Continent? That was utterly impossible, because the God of Colin, who ruled over it, would never stand by idly.
At present, it was just minor skirmishes, and the God of Colin wouldn’t interfere. But everything has its limits; once crossed, things become uncontrollable.
Moreover, right now, Sik needed to head to the realm of the God of Light and couldn’t attend to matters on the Colin Continent.
“Yes, Commander-in-Chief!” Aidi replied respectfully before stepping back to issue orders for retreat.
Before long, the powerful gods of the Colin Continent were astonished to see that the Scarlet Demon clan, which had already occupied three provinces of the continent, was actually retreating!
At first, the gods didn’t believe it, but when they saw groups of Scarlet Demon beasts gathering and leaving the Colin Continent to return to Hell, they finally believed it.
Yet, even though they had survived, the gods still found it strange that the Scarlet Demon beasts were retreating. They wondered what their intentions were, with some even speculating that it might be a trick—using the retreat to deceive the gods so they could attack again when they let their guard down.
While the Scarlet Demon clan retreated to Scarlet Demon Valley in Hell, their commander-in-chief, Sik, used the teleportation array of the Colin Continent to reach the realm of the God of Light.
Huang Long and the others who left Tanggu City were unaware of the Scarlet Demon clan’s retreat.
After leaving Tanggu City, Huang Long and the others rushed straight toward Tiandu Divine Peak.
Months later, in the far east of the Guangqing Region, a group of figures appeared out of thin air—Huang Long and the others who had come to Tiandu Peak.
“Tiandu Peak is so terrifying!” Riding on a flying cloud beast, Huang Yi stared in awe at Tiandu Peak, suspended in white mist ahead.
Above Tiandu Peak stood a massive mountain—actually, it would be more accurate to call it a giant demon tree. This mountain stretched in all directions and upward from the surface of Tiandu Peak, with countless tendrils that resembled tree branches. Above the entire mountain, cold black winds howled incessantly, sounding like the wails of ghosts, creating a sense of dread.
Huang Long also frowned. Although he hadn’t yet reached Tiandu Peak, it gave him a sense of danger. However, when Huang Long extended his divine sense, he found nothing. Under the Eye of Heaven, he saw only clusters of black mist. Still, he carefully summoned the Five Directions Spiritual Flags and then led everyone into the Immortals Pavilion before carefully flying down to Tiandu Peak with Brade. As soon as Huang Long and Brade landed on Tiandu Peak, they felt a piercing coldness sweeping over them. Fortunately, Huang Long was prepared. With a thought, the Five Directions Spiritual Flags glowed, blocking the cold wind. Under their protection, the incoming cold wind reversed, causing cracks to form in the ground around them. Huang Long and Brade were astonished—such a minor gust of wind had such power, likely comparable to a strike from an eighth-level Water-type warrior. Seeing this, they became even more cautious. They flew low, approaching the giant mountains on Tiandu Peak. Though these mountains seemed close, it took several days for Huang Long and Brade to reach them after flying carefully. As they got closer to these strange, tree-like mountains, the cold winds grew stronger, and snow and rain began to fall from the sky. This snow and rain carried an icy chill that was extremely freezing. As for the legendary devouring power, Huang Long and Brade encountered none. “Young master, this demon mountain is strange,” said Brade solemnly as they stood before it. Huang Long nodded. The closer they got to the mountain, the clearer the humming sound emanating from it became. This humming had a confusing and penetrating effect, capable of inducing hallucinations and soul tremors. Instead of entering the mountain directly, Huang Long and Brade flew carefully around it. “Young master, look,” Brade suddenly said while flying. In the direction he pointed, several human skeletons in various poses were hanging upside down. Clearly, they were human divine-level warriors who had perished on Tiandu Peak. However, after transforming their bodies in the Divine Transformation Pool, even if they died, their bodies wouldn’t rot. It seemed these warriors had been torn apart by some force after death, turning them into skeletons. Huang Long extended his divine sense to monitor the surroundings within a million miles and approached these human skeleton bodies with Brade. When they landed above them, they found that aside from the absence of flesh, these bodies were otherwise intact.
“These people are all high-ranking gods, and they’ve been dead for not long—probably less than a hundred years,” said Huang Long.
Brad was astonished, not knowing how the young master had figured that out.
Noticing Brad’s confusion, Huang Long was about to speak when suddenly his expression changed. A force of divine energy enveloped Brad, sending him flying tens of thousands of miles away in an instant. Just as Huang Long and Brad had dodged, countless black ants shot up from beneath the skeletal bodies of those gods.
These black ants were the size of fists, dark brown in color, with a faint glow all over them. As they moved their eight legs, a cold light flashed from them, and blood-thirsty blades appeared at the corners of their mouths. Terrifying chewing sounds kept coming from their mouths.
“What kind of monster is this?!” Brad exclaimed in shock.
Huang Long also narrowed his eyes. Although he couldn’t identify these black ants, he was sure they weren’t cloud beasts from the realm of the Supreme God of Light. But if they weren’t cloud beasts, then how could they appear in this realm?!
As Huang Long and Brad were filled with confusion, the swarm of black ants buzzed and rushed toward them like a huge dark cloud, moving swiftly with their eight legs.
Seeing this, Huang Long snorted coldly, formed a magic seal, and created tens of thousands of avatars. They all unleashed the Green Rainbow Sword and the Great Extinction Sword Formation in unison.
After a burst of dazzling sword light, the strange black ants fell to the ground one after another with continuous “thwack” sounds.
Brad, who was about to act, stopped and stared in shock at the tens of thousands of avatars created by Huang Long. Though he knew that as Huang Long’s cultivation grew stronger, he would be able to create more “divine avatars,” it was the first time he had seen him use so many of them.
After a while, the sword light disappeared. With a thought, Huang Long recalled his avatars. At that moment, Brad saw that all the black ants had fallen to the ground. To his surprise, they hadn’t died—some were still struggling.
With Huang Long’s current strength and the power of the Great Extinction Sword Formation wielded by his avatars, even an eighth-level warrior would be destroyed. Yet these few black ants could still move, indicating that they had reached the peak of the eighth level.
Huang Long flew above the swarm of black ants. Seeing those few still struggling, he had an idea. He opened his right hand and sucked hundreds of those black ants into it.
