Chapter 0322: The Chaos Palace
The soul attacks from the army of 1.2 million mutated beasts stripped the entire world of its colors, engulfing Spinn and the other two members of the Bekkar family in this inexplicable darkness.
“Light of Extreme Speed, break through!” Spinn’s furious roar echoed from within the sea of colors. A blinding light burst forth from it, only to be submerged again by wave after wave of darkness.
Although the attacks of a Level 7 Nether King were powerful, they were still not enough to counter the soul attacks of the army of 1.2 million mutated beasts. What would be the consequence of failing to break through? The two Level 6 Nether King elders let out terrified screams before their voices vanished.
Li Yifeng swallowed hard, leaning against Huang Long, fearing he too might be hit by the aftereffects of the army’s attacks. Even Spinn’s attacks, as a Level 7 Nether King, seemed weak in the face of such a massive force—he certainly didn’t think he was stronger than a Level 7 Nether King.
After a long while, silence reigned. On the ground lay only the physical bodies of those two Level 6 Nether King elders. Under the soul attacks of the army, even they perished in agony.
“You brat! How dare you kill someone from my Bekkar family!”
“Just wait until you try to escape!”
“Remember this—never fall into my hands again! Otherwise, I’ll make your life worse than death!”
Spinn’s furious shouts came from afar.
Huang Long smiled coldly upon hearing this. “Then I’ll wait.”
Still, there was no reply from Spinn after a long time; it seemed he had fled far away.
Huang Long wasn’t surprised by Spinn’s escape—everything was as expected. Though the soul attacks of the army were terrifying, they weren’t strong enough to kill a Level 7 Nether King. After all, such a being wasn’t easy to kill.
“Brother Huang Long, Spinn has escaped!” Li Yifeng finally realized this after a while, his face filled with urgency.
“I know,” Huang Long replied in a low voice.
That was too quick of a reaction! It took him so long to even realize where Spinn had gone.
“Then won’t you chase after him?!” Li Yifeng demanded anxiously.
“You want to chase him?” Huang Long looked at Li Yifeng strangely.
Li Yifeng froze, then grew embarrassed.
With an army of 1.2 million mutated beasts at his disposal, Huang Long wasn’t too worried about Spinn. As long as no Level 9 Nether King appeared, he was confident he could handle the situation.
After bringing the army into the Group of Immortals Pavilion, Huang Long walked over to the physical bodies of the two Level 6 Nether King elders. With a thought, he took them in—after all, the divine essence and physical bodies of Level 6 Nether King elders were excellent nourishment for the Tree of the Netherworld.
“Brother Huang Long, do you know what’s inside the great array?” At that moment, Li Yifeng looked at Huang Long with confusion.
Huang Long smiled silently. “You’ll know soon enough.” With that, he stepped outside the array.
At a glance, inside the array, there were waves of soil covering hundreds of miles in all directions, shrouded in gray mist, making it impossible to see clearly. Although the array was complex, it was a piece of cake for Huang Long to break through.
For any array, once the core is found, breaking it becomes easy.
Outside the array, Huang Long’s brow flashed, and then he summoned the Group of Immortals Pavilion. The pavilion appeared in midair and descended straight toward the core of the array.
After a loud explosion, Li Yifeng was delighted to see the waves of soil disappear, revealing everything inside the array. But when he saw what was there, he was stunned, his mouth wide open. “This… this… what is this?”
“Chaos Jade Crystal!” came Huang Long’s voice.
The Chaos Jade Crystal was an extremely rare energy stone from the Chaos Divine Realm. After the array was broken, a magnificent palace spanning dozens of miles appeared at its center, entirely carved from Chaos Jade Crystal.
“Chaos Jade Crystal!” Li Yifeng murmured.
Only then did he understand why Huang Long was willing to anger Shi Bin just to obtain everything inside the array.
If the entire palace was made of Chaos Jade Crystal, what could be inside? At the thought of this, Li Yifeng became extremely excited once he regained his composure.
“Let’s go in,” Huang Long said with a smile.
Li Yifeng nodded again and followed Huang Long inside.
“Chaos Palace!” Before reaching the palace, they saw three ancient seal characters inscribed on its massive gates, hundreds of feet high. As Huang Long looked at those three characters, he felt a stir in his heart. The Demon King’s Temple he had entered in the Sea of Death of the Hengyuan Realm was also written in these ancient demon clan seal characters. Could there be some connection between the two?
Inside the Chaos Palace, the entire hall seemed rather empty. In the middle of the hall was a huge square, surrounded by rooms on all sides.
“Is this a top-tier divine artifact alchemy furnace?!” After entering one of the rooms, they saw a five-pot alchemy furnace standing in the thousands-of-meters-wide room. Seeing it, Li Yifeng was overjoyed. He stepped forward and touched it with both hands.
Top-tier divine artifact alchemy furnaces were extremely rare throughout the Netherworld, priceless, and usually kept by the great families there. Even Li Yifeng had never found a suitable one.
“This is at least an eighth-tier top-quality alchemy furnace, and it might even be ninth-tier!” After a while, Li Yifeng’s excited voice rang out again. But soon after, he looked at Huang Long with an apologetic expression.
Huang Long immediately understood what Li Yifeng meant. He shook his head and smiled, “I already have an alchemy tool.” Indeed, although this alchemy furnace was of high quality, it was still not as good as the Fifth Prison Divine Cauldron, a fifth-tier immortal artifact, for Huang Long.
Without hesitation, Li Yifeng took the alchemy furnace for himself. Then, the two continued searching.
It wasn’t long before they divided up everything. In the end, the Chaos Hall was given to Huang Long. After storing the Chaos Hall in the Group of Immortals Pavilion, Huang Long immediately summoned a top-quality flying immortal artifact and, along with Li Yifeng, they vanished into the canyon as a streak of light.
The canyon returned to peace.
Meanwhile, as Huang Long and Li Yifeng left the canyon and headed back to the Giant Dragon Mountains, millions of miles away, Spin spat out in hatred, “Damn it!” This time, he had suffered a setback, being outwitted by a mere mid-tier god!
“Oh, isn’t this my little brother Spin?” A mocking voice rang out, and soon after, a blond young man appeared in mid-air.
“Saxton!” Spin, who had been filled with anger, frowned upon seeing the blond young man.
This blond young man was none other than Saxton from the Beikar family, the same family that Huang Long had encountered earlier while hunting the Chaos Primal Beast, the Wind-Flame Dragon Scale.
As a seventh-tier Dark King, Spin was also a direct descendant of the Beikar family, just like Saxton.
“Spin, it’s rare to see someone get injured,” Saxton said, though his tone was mocking, he was also somewhat surprised. Spin’s strength was comparable to his own—could he be an eighth-tier Dark King?
Spin snorted coldly, his expression darkening.
“Where are Denver and the others?” Saxton asked.
Denver was one of the two sixth-tier Dark King elders who had been with Spin earlier.
“Dead!” Spin replied with hatred.
“Dead?!” Saxton was stunned, then his expression turned serious. “What happened?” Although the two had always been rivals, they were both direct descendants of the Beikar family, so family interests must come first when necessary.
“Killed by a mid-tier god?!” Spin muttered.
“What? By a mid-tier god?!” Saxton exclaimed in shock, looking puzzled.
A mid-tier god killed two sixth-tier Dark King warriors? And it seemed Spin had managed to escape.
“He’s a beast tamer!” Spin said, ignoring Saxton’s strange expression.
“A Beast Tamer!” Saxton was stunned, then his expression changed as he realized something: “Could it be, a senior Beast Tamer?!”
Spin nodded, and Saxton gasped in shock.
“What’s going on?” After a while, Saxton asked solemnly.
Spin then explained what had happened.
“Over a million mutated beasts?!” Yet even when Saxton heard that the other party controlled over a million mutated beasts, he still couldn’t stay calm. “Are you sure it’s over a million mutated beasts?!”
A senior Beast Tamer was already terrifying, so what about one who commanded over a million of them? Now he finally understood why Spin had been pushed to such a desperate situation.
Just over a million mutated beasts?! In the entire Netherworld, he had never heard of any senior or even legendary Beast Tamer who could control that many.
Spin took a deep breath. “It’s absolutely true!”
Saxton also took a deep breath before saying, “Let’s go. We need to go there.” He really wanted to see this senior Beast Tamer now.
It wasn’t long before Spin brought Saxton back to the top of the canyon.
Flying down, they saw that the large formation had been destroyed and was now empty. Spin said, “It seems this person is also a formation master.”
That formation wasn’t simple. Only a master of formations could destroy it in such a short time.
Saxton said nothing and looked around.
Although formation masters were noble, their status paled in comparison to that of a senior Beast Tamer.
“Let’s go back to the family headquarters. We need to report this to the elders,” Saxton said solemnly after a while. Spin nodded.
The two of them vanished from the canyon in an instant.
Four months later, Huang Long and Li Yifeng returned to the Dragon Mountain Range aboard high-grade flying immortal artifacts. But as soon as they arrived, Huang Long frowned upon seeing the mountains in ruins, clearly the aftermath of a fierce battle.
Something had happened on Taiyi Peak!
When Huang Long and Li Yifeng appeared above Taiyi Peak, Huang Long was filled with murderous intent, and the air around him churned violently.
What used to be a paradise-like place was now covered in ruins. The entire peak was devastated—palaces had collapsed, and the Four Seas Dragon Palace had long disappeared.
The smell of blood filled the air.
Li Yifeng opened his mouth but ultimately didn’t dare speak.
Huang Long descended swiftly, his expression dark.
