Chapter 0206: The Altar Has Fallen!
Upon hearing his daughter Nicole’s words, Simp of the Phoenix Clan showed hesitation on his face. The Dragon Clan and the Phoenix Clan had always been enemies. If he intervened, he certainly wouldn’t hesitate to deal with the Dragon Clan. But doing so would not only draw the Yellow Dragon’s attention but also anger the Thunderflame Mansion and the Dark Forest Temple.
The Yellow Dragon, the Thunderflame Mansion, and the Dark Forest Temple!
Simp’s gaze was filled with uncertainty.
“Father, what are you thinking about? What’s there to think about?!” Nicole grew annoyed seeing her father standing there hesitating and urged him urgently.
“Enough, Keer! Stop making a fuss! Father has his own plan!” Simp couldn’t bear to scold his most beloved daughter as she pouted and argued, so he said solemnly, “If the Yellow Dragon is truly defeated by then, it won’t be too late for father to intervene!”
In the end, between the Yellow Dragon, the Thunderflame Mansion, and the Dark Forest Temple, Simp chose the Yellow Dragon. Yet, he wasn’t in a hurry to act. He wanted to wait until the Yellow Dragon showed signs of weakness before intervening—only then would it demonstrate his importance, and the Yellow Dragon would be even more grateful to their Phoenix Clan.
On the altar, the Yellow Dragon, who was fighting fiercely against Zevi and Wendy, remained calm upon seeing the Dragon Clan’s Bane approaching. He wasn’t panicked; he had anticipated this situation and had been watching Bane’s movements the whole time. With a deep roar, the Yellow Dragon formed a magic seal with his hands. Above, the clouds rolled, and divine thunder like a storm descended upon Zevi and Wendy.
Zevi and Wendy were shocked by the torrent of divine thunder falling from the sky. They struck together and then quickly retreated. After pushing Zevi and Wendy back, the Yellow Dragon turned and threw a punch. Lightning, flames, sword light, and storms converged, scattering Bane’s energy waves and charging at him.
After driving Zevi and Wendy back, the Yellow Dragon turned and shattered Bane’s attack with a single strike, then attacked Bane again with lightning speed. Seeing the Yellow Dragon’s devastating assault, Bane’s expression changed. He had originally thought the Yellow Dragon would be trapped fighting Zevi and Wendy, so he planned to injure him severely with one strike. But now, the outcome was completely unexpected.
“Yellow Dragon, you’ve come at just the right time. I want you to experience the Dragon Flame I’ve refined over two thousand years!” Bane advanced without retreating, his face twisted in a fierce grin as he sneered at the Yellow Dragon.
After speaking, Bane transformed into a hundred-foot-long white dragon. He opened his mouth, and a stream of white Dragon Flame sprayed out, instantly engulfing the Yellow Dragon.
The white dragon flame sprayed out was like a sea of white fire. With a hissing sound, the mist in the air evaporated, causing even Neptune, the Sea God, and Euman, the Queen of the Sea Folk, who were miles away, to feel as if they were in a sea of fire at the earth’s core, filled with shock. This dragon flame was the result of Banei’s two thousand years of painstaking cultivation on the Dragon Coiling Star, where he absorbed the intense core fire from deep within the planet. Combined with his mastery of the Law of Light, its power was so great that even ordinary gods in divine realms would be reduced to ashes upon contact with it. Watching the white dragon flame fill the sky and earth, the Yellow Dragon was also secretly astonished—this flame could even burn away the green lotus and white mist created by the flags around his body. Seeing the Yellow Dragon eventually engulfed and submerged by the dragon flame he had suddenly sprayed, without even time to scream, Banei burst into laughter. Zevi and Wendy, who had been forced back by the Yellow Dragon’s attack earlier, were about to surround him when they witnessed him being devoured by Banei’s dragon flame. Both were stunned, unable to believe it. Had the Yellow Dragon really died like this?! The Yellow Dragon, who even they couldn’t defeat, had been killed by Banei’s sudden attack?! They tried to sense his presence, but found nothing. Not only them, but even the millions of Sea Folk who had just cursed the Dragon Clan as shameless fell silent, stunned by this sudden turn of events. Had Senior Yellow Dragon died?! “Impossible?!” Some Sea Folk warriors who worshipped the Yellow Dragon shook their heads in disbelief. The Yellow Dragon had always been a myth in their hearts, and they couldn’t bear to believe that myth had been shattered. Although the Dragon Emperor Fli and the elders of the Dragon Clan were using their dragon power to heal their ancestor Eino, they heard the crowd’s cries, looked up at the altar, and were filled with joy. Some of the Dragon Clan’s young members even cheered triumphantly, shouting, “The greatness of our ancestor!” Among the Phoenix Clan, Nicole stared blankly, muttering, “Senior Yellow Dragon died? Impossible, impossible! How could Senior Yellow Dragon die?!” Simp frowned upon seeing his daughter’s expression but said nothing. He glanced at the altar. Everything had changed too suddenly. He had planned to intervene after the Yellow Dragon was overwhelmed by the three attackers, but as soon as he spoke, Banei’s dragon flame swallowed the attacking Yellow Dragon. Everything seemed too bizarre. It seemed the Yellow Dragon hadn’t expected Banei to spray the dragon flame either, and he couldn’t escape in time, being reduced to ashes by Banei’s flame. But was the Yellow Dragon really dead? He was puzzled. Logically, the Yellow Dragon shouldn’t die at Banei’s hands like this.
Yet, the presence of the Yellow Dragon indeed no longer existed. He couldn’t sense it either. On the altar, the Sea Queen Euman trembled slightly, her expression unnatural. Seeing the culprit who had indirectly killed tens of thousands of Sea Tribe warriors die at Bane’s hands, she couldn’t feel joy—instead, she felt a sense of loss. The Sea God Apton remained calm, unshaken by shock or surprise like the others. Watching Bane laughing in midair, he sneered inwardly. He practiced the laws of water, and the moisture within ten miles around him was all under his surveillance. He knew every detail of every corner of the altar. The Yellow Dragon had disappeared, but not because it had been consumed and reduced to ashes by Bane’s Dragon Flame—rather, it vanished mysteriously. Though he didn’t know what secret technique the Yellow Dragon had used, he was certain it was still alive. He recalled some rumors that when the Dragon Clan and the Church’s army threatened them, the Yellow Dragon had intercepted them along the way, killing two members of the Holy Land each day—probably using the same secret technique to disappear from their sight. That’s what Sea God Apton thought to himself. In fact, Bane and the others had also considered this possibility. But Bane was too confident in his Dragon Flame, which he had cultivated for two thousand years. He preferred to believe the Yellow Dragon had died under his own Dragon Flame. The entire square fell silent. Bane’s laughter stopped. By now, more than a dozen blinks had passed since the Yellow Dragon was consumed by the Dragon Flame. Most people believed it was dead. Bane turned to look at the Blue Whale Clan with a cold smirk. The Yellow Dragon was dead, but that wasn’t enough to satisfy his hatred. Everyone related to the Yellow Dragon would have to pay for its foolishness. “Chieftain of the Blue Whale Clan, your name is Kri, right? You think by associating with the Yellow Dragon, your clan can regain its former strength? Knowing full well that the Yellow Dragon is an enemy of the Dragon Clan, you still dared to be with him,” Bane sneered, his voice reaching every corner of the square. Everyone understood that Bane intended to punish the Blue Whale Clan as a warning to all other clans: standing with the Yellow Dragon meant becoming enemies of the Dragon Clan, and the consequences would be dire. In the Thunder Flame Mansion, Dylan also stared at the Blue Whale Clan with gleeful cruelty. The Yellow Dragon was dead! Though he regretted it wasn’t at the hands of Lord Zewei of their Thunder Flame Mansion, now he could finally retaliate against the Blue Whale Clan without restraint and vent his anger. Hearing that the Dragon Clan’s ancestor, Bane, intended to punish the Blue Whale Clan, he even hoped the Dragon Clan wouldn’t exterminate them completely, leaving some for him to torment.
“Are you the servant by Huang Long’s side? Huang Long is dead, alone all the way—I’ll send you to hell to be with him!” At that moment, Banei glanced at Nat, who stood beside Kri, then sneered viciously. Ignoring his status, he launched a clawed attack at Nat from across dozens of miles.
Just as Banei was about to kill Nat, suddenly, a cold laugh rang out from the sky: “I’m dead? Or should I send you down first?”
The sudden voice shocked Banei and everyone else.
As Banei was stunned, the previously clear sky suddenly darkened, and a terrifying force pressed down from above.
What was this? Banei looked up in shock and saw a gigantic triangular mountain, likely spanning dozens of miles, descending upon him.
Panic filled Banei’s eyes, but he had no time to wonder why Huang Long was still alive. With a fierce roar, his hundred-zhang-long body shook violently, sending waves of energy through the air. He tried to fly out of the mountain’s crushing range like an arrow, but to his horror, the mountain emitted an absorbing force that slowed his speed.
By then, the mountain was already hundreds of feet above him, and its fierce winds even pressed his dragon body lower.
“No!” Banei roared inwardly.
“Dragon’s Fury!”
His white dragon scales tightened, his horns and claws transformed, and then he raised his eyes. His huge dragon eyes turned blood red as he fired two red beams of light.
The two red beams pushed back the fierce winds and struck the triangular mountain head-on. The mountain trembled violently and paused for a moment.
Banei channeled all his dragon power, his body shaking as he shot upward.
Just as he escaped, a deafening explosion rang out behind him, as if the world itself were splitting apart.
On the square, millions of sea creatures were terrified. With that explosion, the entire Island of Eternity seemed to sink.
Banei, who had barely escaped, turned around in shock, his dragon scales covered in cold sweat.
The giant triangular mountain was crushing the altar, and the entire altar had collapsed!
The sacred altar, passed down by the sea creatures for tens of thousands of years, was now reduced to rubble spanning dozens of miles!
The Dragon Clan, the Leiyan Mansion, and the Phoenix Clan, who were closest to the altar, fled and scattered the flying debris. But when they turned back to see what lay behind them, they staggered and collapsed to the ground.
The warriors of other sea clans who were fleeing also froze in horror.
The altar… was gone!
