Chapter 0012: Ignorance

A night with strong winds and dark moonlight—perfect for murder, not to mention a stormy night!
Dozens of miles away, fifty or sixty men in all-black clothing, with only their eyes visible, were steadily approaching Huang Long and his group’s camp.
“We’re almost there. Remember, the master ordered that this mission is to kill that super-genius kid from the Huang family! Once he’s dead, we withdraw!”
“Yes, leader!”
Huang Long sneered inwardly. He hadn’t expected the target of this mission to be himself. It seemed that his results from the recent talent test had posed a threat to some people, who now wanted to eliminate him.
“Are you here for me?” At that moment, Huang Long and his two pets appeared in midair. However, the pets remained in their mini form, held in Huang Long’s arms.
As the men in black neared their target, a voice suddenly rang out from above, startling them. They looked up at the source of the voice, their expressions changing rapidly.
Standing high in the air!
A terrifying word flashed through their minds—Saint Realm powerhouse!
Good heavens, it was a Saint Realm powerhouse!
On the Continent of Hengyuan, Saint Realm powerhouses were extremely rare, considered legends. It was generally believed that those at the peak of the continent were Saint Realm powerhouses.
When various nations went to war, there was a rule recognized even by the five great empires: Saint Realm powerhouses were not allowed to participate in battles. After all, their destructive power was terrifying—mere gestures could destroy entire cities.
No matter how impressive ninth-level mages or warriors might seem, in front of a Saint Realm powerhouse, they were nothing but prey.
“P-precursor, I wonder what brings you here?” The leader of the men in black, a ninth-level mage, stepped forward and asked cautiously.
Due to the dark night and heavy rain, visibility was poor, so they didn’t realize at first that the “precursor” before them was their target.
“What’s the matter? Can’t you even recognize your target before trying to assassinate him?” Huang Long mocked them from above.
Only then did the men in black notice the appearance of the “precursor” in the air. Upon seeing him, they were shocked.
Amidst the stormy rain and lightning, the Saint Realm powerhouse standing high in the air was actually a child!
Upon closer inspection, it was none other than their target—the Huang family kid who had been rated a super magic genius in the recent talent test!
The ninth-level mage, stunned, pointed at the figure in the air: “You… you!”
In his shock, he couldn’t speak clearly.
They knew that the Huang family kid was only six years old, having just taken the talent test.
Six years old—usually the age when one begins training on the Continent of Hengyuan. But how could such a young child be a Saint Realm powerhouse?

They were even more astonished than the Cave Dragon and the Golden-Eyed Purple Ape when they first saw the Yellow Dragon.
“Speak up. Who sent you?” the Yellow Dragon asked indifferently, staring at the men in black.
The ninth-level mage was initially puzzled but then calmed down, laughing heartily as he pointed at the Yellow Dragon and said arrogantly, “It’s you, little brat! I almost fell for your trick.”
A trick? The Yellow Dragon was confused.
“Kid, you’re ignorant. Don’t think that just because you can use some secret scrolls to float in the air, you can scare us. How ridiculous! Do you really think you’re a powerhouse of the Holy Land, a six-year-old one? Do you take us for idiots?” the ninth-level mage snapped, acting very smart.
“Haha, fate favors me! I was worried that those two ninth-level powerhouses from the Huang family would cause trouble, but now that I’ve killed you, no one will know!”
“Go! Kill this little brat!” the ninth-level mage roared before standing aside.
“Yes, leader!”
Immediately, the assassins in black charged at the Yellow Dragon with their swords and knives.
With combat energy surging, blades flashed as attacks came from all directions.
Several mages stood behind the ninth-level mage, remaining motionless.
The ninth-level mage beamed with joy, “I never expected this mission to go so smoothly. Killing this little brat was so easy. If I had known, I wouldn’t have had to get involved.” But the next moment, his smile froze.
With a look of utter terror, the two miniature pets in the little brat’s arms suddenly leaped out, growing huge instantly. A terrifying aura emanated from them, making it hard for him to breathe like a dehydrated fish.
After revealing his mountain-like true form, the Cave Dragon Piel let out a fierce roar. His legs, thick as those of several men, stomped down, crushing several seventh-level warriors into meat pies.
As the ground shook violently, an area of hundreds of meters turned into a muddy swamp. Once all the assassins who couldn’t escape in time were trapped in the mud, the swamp disappeared, returning to solid soil.
The internal organs of those dozen assassins buried in the soil had been completely shattered.
The earth-type ninth-level spells “Muddy Swamp Everywhere” and “Muddy Swamp Restoration” were perfectly demonstrated under the feet of this earth-type Holy Land magical beast, the Cave Dragon Piel.
Then, the Golden-Eyed Purple Ape didn’t lag behind. Slapping his chest, he spat, turning an area of hundreds of meters into a sea of fire. Even more terrifyingly, the fire kept burning without stopping.
It was the fire-type ninth-level spell “Wildfire!”
An instant cast spell, and a ninth-level one at that!
A Holy Land magical beast!

The twenty-some assassins who managed to escape retreated beside the ninth-level mage, staring in horror at their thirty-some companions who had died in an instant. Sweating profusely, even though they had seen many fierce battles before, their hands and feet turned cold. The ninth-level mage’s mind was completely blank. A Sacred Realm beast! It was actually a Sacred Realm beast! Yet the nightmare had just begun. When he realized he needed to flee, he suddenly found himself unable to move, as the surrounding space was sealed off. A spatial domain! Like the other assassins, his face turned deathly pale as he understood what was happening. The powers of the Sacred Realm could control their own domains, making them the rulers within those domains—this was one of the reasons why there was such a huge gap in strength despite only one level separating ninth-level mages from those of the Sacred Realm. Of course, it took time for the Sacred Realm powers to use their “spatial domain” abilities, just as it took time for a ninth-level mage to cast a ninth-level spell. But they had been stunned by the astonishing actions of the two Sacred Realm beasts, Pitil the Underground Dragon and Endi the Golden-Eyed Purple Ape, which bought them some time. Huang Long slowly flew in front of the assassins and stared at the terrified ninth-level mage, saying, “Speak. Who sent you?” The ninth-level mage snorted coldly and ignored Huang Long. But like his subordinates, his heart was in turmoil. Good heavens! A six-year-old child possessed two Sacred Realm pets—what did that even mean? If word got out, it would shock the entire Hengyuan Continent. Looking at this half-grown six-year-old, his expression was complex and indescribable. “Won’t you talk?” Huang Long sneered and gave a subtle signal to Endi the Golden-Eyed Purple Ape beside him. Endi understood his master’s intent, reached out, lifted one of the assassins, and crushed his neck under his grip as the assassin screamed in agony. The other assassins cried out in shock. “You speak,” Huang Long said coldly, turning to an eighth-level mage beside the ninth-level mage. The eighth-level mage was filled with terror, his voice trembling, “I, I’ll talk.” “Dare you! Don’t forget your family!” the ninth-level mage shouted fiercely. Just as the eighth-level mage was about to reveal the mastermind, he stopped at the ninth-level mage’s shout, seemingly recalling something terrifying, his eyes filled with fear. “Even if we die, we’ll never tell you, kid,” the ninth-level mage sneered, before black blood spilled from his mouth and his breath ceased. The same was true for the other assassins.

Poison? Huang Long frowned. It was unexpected—these assassins actually had poison in their mouths. However, his spiritual core was severely damaged. Although it had taken years to recover, his spiritual awareness remained too weak to use soul-searching techniques. Otherwise, he would have used them on these men in black right away.
