Chapter 45
Li Feng was lying on Gao Huiyu, tearing off her underwear, when there was a knocking at the door.
“Damn it, get lost!” Overcome with lust, Li Feng was annoyed to be interrupted and shouted angrily. The knocking stopped, but soon started again.
“Damn you! Give me a good reason, or I’ll kill you!” Li Feng stood up, grabbed a dagger, and opened the door. It was one of his men knocking. Angered, he snapped, “What the hell do you want? Can’t you stay outside? Who’s knocking? Come here!”
One of the men stammered, “Brother Feng, it’s… it’s me who knocked.”
Li Feng slapped him across the face. “Damn it, speak up! What do you want?”
The man raised his hand and held it in front of Li Feng, whispering, “Brother Feng, I… I saw this!”
Li Feng looked down and saw a black card in the man’s hand, with a blood-red character for “kill” prominently displayed. He took the card and examined it closely, his heart pounding uncontrollably. After a while, he muttered, “This is… a death notice!” He grabbed the man’s clothes and demanded, “Where did this come from? Tell me! Why do you have it?” The reputation of these death notices was well-known in J City’s underworld—none who received them survived, which was why they were also known as “blood kills.” Though backed by the Triad, Li Feng still felt his blood rush at the sight of the death notice.
His man was terrified, trembling as Li Feng grabbed his collar. “It… it was just on my back, Brother Feng! Save me! I don’t want to die!” He clung to Li Feng’s sleeve and screamed.
“Damn you!” Li Feng kicked him away and yelled at him, “Look at what kind of coward you are! What are you afraid of? I’m not even scared of Xie Wendong coming here—how could I be scared of a piece of paper?” Though he was scolding his man, he was also trying to boost his own courage. In truth, he was more afraid than anyone else. Looking at his five or six men, all pale-faced, he cursed them as weaklings and shouted, “Listen up! Stay at the door. No one leaves. Otherwise, don’t blame me, Li Feng, for being ruthless!” With that, he returned to the room and picked up the phone to call for reinforcements.
After sitting on the sofa for a while, Li Feng felt no fear. His father would send people soon, and it was unlikely Xie Wendong would dare attack him here, as it was a place frequented by government officials. Thinking this, he played with the black card in his hand and smiled.
On the bed, Gao Huiyu saw what Li Feng was holding and felt delighted. She shouted, “Li Feng, release me quickly! Otherwise, Wen Dong will not spare you!”
Gao Huiyu’s voice interrupted Li Feng’s thoughts. Seeing that she mentioned Xie Wendong again, he got up, went over to her, and slapped her hard across the face. Then he grabbed her neck with one hand and growled, “I’m telling you now—stop using Xie Wendong to scare me! He means nothing to me! Do you understand? He’s nothing!” With that, Li Feng, his eyes red, ripped off Gao Huiyu’s underwear. Seeing her bare, white breasts, he reached out and touched them. “You still think about him, don’t you? Haha! Today I’m going to have some fun with his woman. I hope she’s still a virgin!”
At that moment, there were more knocks at the door. Li Feng was on the verge of going crazy due to unfulfilled lust. With a roar, he rushed to open the door. “Damn you all! Is it never going to end…?” Li Feng suddenly stopped talking because the people outside weren’t his subordinates but three men and three women, strangers. His subordinates were lying on the ground, their fate unknown.
Startled, Li Feng quickly asked, “Who are you? What do you want?”
One tall, thin man among the six said, “Since you’ve accepted the death notice, we’re here to claim your life!” With that, he kicked Li Feng in the stomach. The kick was so powerful that Li Feng stumbled back several steps and fell to the floor. The six of them efficiently dragged Li Feng’s subordinates into the room and closed the door tightly behind them.
The leader of the group walked ahead, knelt in front of Li Feng, and said coldly, “You’re going to die today!”
Enduring the pain in his abdomen, Li Feng raised his head and asked, “You… who are you for the Wen Dong Gang? Release me, and I’ll give you money—whatever amount you want. If you’re afraid of retaliation from the Wen Dong Gang, you can join the Qing Bang. I’ll make you the leader! How about that?”
The young man didn’t speak. He waited patiently for Li Feng to finish before suddenly punching him in the mouth. Li Feng screamed as two of his front teeth were knocked out. “That’s a small lesson for being rude!” The young man stood up, glanced at Gao Huiyu and her sister on the bed, then quickly pulled his head back and whispered to his three female companions. The three women understood and went to the bed to release Gao Huiyu and the other woman.
Once freed, Gao Huiyu quickly covered herself with the blanket and started crying. One of the women took off her coat and covered her with it. Gao Huiyu looked at her gratefully and asked, “Who are you…?”
The woman smiled and said, “We’re members of the Wen Dong Gang’s secret group!”
Upon hearing this, Gao Huiyu’s worried heart finally settled, and she threw herself onto the woman’s shoulder, crying bitterly. The three young men surrounding Li Feng exchanged glances, smirked, and thought to themselves that women were such a hassle! Li Feng, no longer imposing as before, with blood all over his mouth, knelt on the ground waiting for his fate.
After discussing for a while, the young men decided not to kill Li Feng for now, thinking he might still be useful. They lifted him up, and together with Gao Huiyu and the other woman, they left the room. As they went out, one of the young men pressed a knife against Li Feng’s back and said in a low voice, “I’ve decided not to kill you, but you have to come with us. It’s best if you don’t make a sound when we leave, or don’t blame me if I’m ruthless!”
Hearing he could survive, Li Feng didn’t care about anything else and nodded repeatedly in agreement. The young man took out a handkerchief to wipe the blood from Li Feng’s mouth, so as not to arouse suspicion when they left. Unharmed and unnoticed, the group left the Pafel Hotel and got into a van that had been waiting for them, driving away. By the time Li Shiming sent people there, the room was empty—no living people at all, only five corpses on the floor. Li Feng was nowhere to be seen, vanished without a trace.
Li Shiming had only one son, whom he doted on greatly. Hearing that his son was missing, he nearly fainted. He ordered all his men to search the entire city to find him at any cost, forcing him to abandon his plan to launch a surprise attack on the Wendong Gang. This inadvertently gave the Wendong Gang ample time to prepare. As for why the members of the secret group suddenly appeared in Pafel, that would be explained later.
At Beibei Di Hall, Jiang Sen rushed there with a few of his men. Seeing Xie Wendong and the key members of the gang, they all breathed a sigh of relief. Jiang Sen rushed up to Xie Wendong and said loudly, “Brother Dong, we have news about Gao Zhen!”
Xie Wendong was shocked and quickly asked, “Where?”
Jiang Sen replied, “Gao Zhen is currently under house arrest in his own home! There are no more than fifteen guards!”
“At Gao Zhen’s home?” Xie Wendong was alarmed. Li Shiming really had a lot of nerve to hide Gao Zhen in his own house—truly unexpected. Suddenly feeling uneasy, he asked anxiously, “What about Xiao Yu and Xiao Mei?”
Jiang Sen laughed and said, “Brother Dong, don’t worry about them. They’re both under my protection and will be fine!”
Relieved, Xie Wendong patted Jiang Sen’s shoulder in gratitude, then turned to the others and said, “Xiao Shuang, Qiangzi, take a few people with me to rescue Gao Zhen. The rest go back to their respective groups and stay on standby, ready to attack at any moment! Lao Sen, keep watching the Qingbang’s every move and let me know immediately if anything happens!”
Jiang Sen nodded in agreement, then looked around before leaning in close to Xie Wendong’s ear and saying, “Brother Dong, there’s another good news. Li Shiming’s son, Li Feng, is in my hands!” With that, Jiang Sen smirked.
Xie Wendong asked curiously, “How did you get him?”
Jiang Sen checked his watch—it was almost eight o’clock. He smiled at Xie Wendong and said, “Brother Dong, it’s a long story. I’ll tell you later! Right now, saving Gao Zhen is the top priority. There’s still time for more later!” Xie Wendong nodded, shaking his head at Jiang Sen’s deliberate mystery, unable to figure out how he had captured Li Feng. They took Li Shuang, Gao Qiang, and the others with them and headed to Gao Zhen’s house by car.
At exactly eight o’clock, Xie Wendong and the others arrived downstairs at Gao Zhen’s house. A person rushed out from a corner, approached the car, and bent down to speak to Xie Wendong, “Brother Dong, I’m from the undercover team. Brother Jiang sent me to guard here!”
Xie Wendong got out of the car and asked, “Is there any movement upstairs?”
The man replied, “No. No one has come out or gone in during this time.”
Xie Wendong nodded and waved at Li Shuang and the others before running up. Reaching Gao Zhen’s front door, he stared at the iron door, thinking about how to get in. The undercover team member walked up to the door and whispered to Xie Wendong, “Brother Dong, I can open this door. I used to do this kind of work before, and I’ve learned a few tricks from Brother Jiang. It’s easy!”
Xie Wendong asked eagerly, “How fast can you open a door like this? It has to be as fast as possible!”
The man thought for a moment, examined the lock, and said carefully after a pause, “I’m confident I can do it in twenty seconds!”
Xie Wendong lowered his head in thought before saying, “Alright. Try not to make any noise when unlocking it, understand?” The man nodded. Xie Wendong turned to the others and said, “Once the door opens, go in and don’t hold back. Leaving anyone alive will cause trouble! But try to shoot as little as possible!” Everyone nodded in agreement and drew their knives and guns.
After waiting for a while, Xie Wendong said to the man, “Start!” With that, he pulled out a dagger.
The man’s lock-picking skills were indeed extraordinary—he made no sound at all. Fifteen seconds later, the lock clicked, and the door opened. Xie Wendong rushed in first. A person was walking towards him. Xie Wendong reacted quickly, stabbing the man in the chest before the man could react. He quickly pulled his knife back and turned to the others, saying, “Split up and look for them!” As soon as he spoke, everyone dispersed and started slashing at anyone they saw. The more than a dozen men sent by Li Shiming didn’t understand what was happening before they were all knocked to the ground.
