Chapter 38
“Uuuu…” A low groan came from the guard’s throat as he stared wide-eyed at his companion across from him. The person across was splashed with blood from his throat, opened his mouth to shout, but no sound came out. Two members of the secret team behind him cut his trachea while another stabbed him in the heart.
Jiang Sen and the other two slowly laid down the two corpses, waved their hands a few times behind them, and continued moving forward. When they were twenty meters away from the building, the three of them crouched in the grass, observing the situation at the entrance. There were four guards standing there; it was already early in the morning, so they were listlessly leaning against the building wall, smoking and chatting intermittently.
Jiang Sen pondered how to deal with these four without alerting them. Sighing, he thought it would be much easier if they had silenced pistols, but for now they could only use knives. After thinking for a while, Jiang Sen slowly retreated to where his teammates were and whispered, “Ying, come here!”
A strikingly beautiful young girl approached him. Without saying much, she listened to Jiang Sen’s instructions. Jiang Sen leaned close to her ear and said softly, “Ying, later you…” The girl named Ying was only eighteen years old. No one knew her gender, as she had never mentioned it to anyone. Everyone knew she had lost her parents at a young age and grown up with her aunt. At thirteen, she ran away from her aunt’s house and has been living on the streets ever since.
After Wen Dong defeated He Xueyong, Ying joined Wen Dong’s group. Jiang Sen took a liking to her at first sight and selected her for the secret team—not only because she was beautiful and intelligent but mainly because of her coldness and cleverness. The team members had never seen her smile; they called her the “Ice Beauty.”
After hearing Jiang Sen’s words, Ying nodded, moved to the side, and stopped when she was thirty meters in front of the guards. There was a lot of overgrown grass there, and it wasn’t far from Chang’an Road, making it less likely to arouse suspicion. Jiang Sen and the others hid in the nearby grass.
Ying made a few cuts on her clothes with a knife, untied her ponytail at the back, making it look messy, then sat down on the ground, emitting faint moans. The sound wasn’t loud, but in the quiet early morning, it carried far, just enough for the guards downstairs at the Brothers’ Alliance headquarters to hear it.
The four guards were stunned upon hearing the woman’s voice and exchanged puzzled looks. A man with a scar on his face asked the others, “Huh? Did you hear a woman’s voice?” He looked around, but saw nothing in the darkness.
The three others nodded. “Damn, I thought I heard it wrong. You all heard it too.”
“Shut up! Let’s go take a look!”
Scarface stopped the three of them: “This is a critical moment. Don’t be idiots—could this be a trap set by the Triads!”
“Damn it, what time is it even? Daybreak is coming soon. There’s no way they’d launch a surprise attack now! If you’re not going to stop us, get out of the way!” A young man with small eyes glared at Scarface and walked forward with the other two. These men had been in the headquarters building for almost ten days without touching a woman, and now that they heard a woman’s moans, they acted like flies drawn to rot.
Seeing the three walk ahead toward the sound, Scarface hesitated for a moment but didn’t follow. He stood there, watching his companions. After taking a few steps, the three turned back to look at Scarface standing there and said in unison, “What idiots!” Then they burst into laughter.
After walking for a while, they arrived near Ying and saw a girl sitting on the ground. Looking around, there were only weeds and no one else. They took a closer look at Ying and found her quite pretty. Delighted, their six eyes wandered over her body. The guard with small eyes started talking nonsense, asking, “Miss, what are you doing here so late?”
Ying lowered her head and spoke in a trembling voice, “I was robbed by two men on my way home earlier. They tried to assault me. I ran away to get rid of them, but I sprained my ankle and can’t walk. It hurts so much!”
Although Ying’s story was full of holes, the three men didn’t pay any attention to what she said; their focus was entirely on her curvaceous body. Ying sneered inwardly as she looked at them, then pleaded, “Big brothers, could you take me home?”
Hearing her words, the three men realized what was going on. One of them even knelt down and held one of Ying’s feet in his hands, saying, “Oh… it’s a sprained ankle. Let me take a look!” He tried to remove her shoe. The guard with small eyes, annoyed, kicked him away, “Damn you! You think you can take care of this? Miss, let me help you up!”
The man with small eyes bent down and wrapped his arms around Ying’s waist. The scent of the girl instantly confused his mind, and he started touching her body randomly. The other two saw this and bent down to pounce on Ying on the ground.
Upstairs, Scarface waited anxiously. Hearing faint moans from a woman, he could easily guess what was happening. cursing under his breath, he thought, “Those bastards are off enjoying themselves. Why do I have to stay here freezing? Damn it!” Unable to hold back, he stretched his neck and shouted in a low voice, “Damn, is that girl pretty?”
The man with small eyes, still touching Ying, casually replied, “Damn, she’s ugly as hell. We’ll be back soon!”
Scarface knew how Little Eyes was. If he wanted that woman to look ugly, she would have died long ago—how could she still be alive?! Scarface snorted and walked forward. When he arrived, he saw three men piling on top of a woman like hungry wolves, her clothes torn to shreds. He glanced around warily but found nothing, so he relaxed and joined in with ahehe smile smile.
Just as Little Eyes was about to reach into Ying’s underwear, Ying effortlessly pulled a sharp blade from her hair and swiped it in front of Little Eyes. Little Eyes froze instantly, blood oozing from her throat. Her wide eyes stared at Ying in disbelief as she tried to speak but couldn’t utter a sound, her head falling onto Ying’s shoulder.
The three men nearby didn’t notice anything amiss with Little Eyes and continued with their actions. Jiang Sen and the others hiding in the bushes had already moved behind the three guards the moment Ying drew her knife.
“What the hell is this?” Scarface asked, puzzled as he felt a sticky liquid on his hand. As he spoke, Jiang Sen covered his mouth and stabbed him in the neck. The other members of the secret team silently took care of the remaining two.
Someone helped Ying up, and Jiang Sen nodded in approval, admiring her calmness and cleverness. Suddenly, he had an idea and said, “Ying, after this mission, you’ll follow Brother Dong! You’ll be his shadow—your task is to protect his safety at all times! Can you do that?”
Ying was stunned for a moment, silent but nodded. She had been part of the secret team for some time but had only seen Xie Wendong a few times, always from a distance. In her memory, he was a young man, and she didn’t know much about her “boss.” She was displeased with Jiang Sen’s decision, as it had only recently made her feel like she belonged at the team. She wondered what would happen to her if she followed Xie Wendong. But she didn’t dare disobey Jiang Sen’s orders, so she simply nodded in agreement. Jiang Sen wasn’t only strict in training the team members but also instilled in them a military-like attitude—unconditional obedience to superiors!
Jiang Sen continued, “Ying, go change your clothes back there. You’re not needed here! From now on, your life is tied to Brother Dong’s—remember that!” With that, he led the team to sneak toward the building. Once downstairs, they scanned the area and eliminated all the scattered guards. Then Jiang Sen sent a signal to Xie Wendong and the others in the distance.
Sanyan took the telescope and smirked, then said to Xie Wendong beside him, “Brother Dong, Lao Jiang has taken care of ‘the Whistle’—let’s go in!” Xie Wendong nodded, waved at the people behind him, and led the way forward. When they reached the downstairs area, Sanyan stopped Xie Wendong and whispered, “Brother Dong, just wait down there. We’ll go in and deal with Pang Jian!” Xie Wendong shook his head and said, “I must go with you this time. No more talking—hurry up!” Sanyan sighed, knowing it was hard to change Xie Wendong’s decision, so he stopped arguing and entered the building with Jiang Sen first. The interior was similar to an ordinary office building—right at the entrance was a long corridor with rows of doors on both sides. Jiang Sen led the way, with Sanyan close behind. At the end of the corridor was a small square room with stairs leading to the second floor. Two guards stood on either side of the stairs, fighting against Mengshen with lowered heads. Sanyan and the others hid behind the wall at the corner of the corridor and the room. Jiang Sen peeked out, raised two fingers toward Sanyan, then lowered one back. Sanyan understood—he meant to kill one and keep the other. Sanyan nodded, pointed at himself, then brushed his neck with the side of his hand. Jiang Sen nodded and smiled. The two of them quietly approached the two guards. One guard, with his eyes closed, suddenly sensed movement in front of him. When he opened his eyes, he saw Sanyan and the other approaching. He asked in surprise, “Huh? Who are you…” Sanyan interrupted him, saying as they walked, “Damn, you don’t even recognize me?” The guard was stunned by Sanyan’s words but couldn’t recall who he was. “Damn it, let me tell you who I am…” Sanyan rushed up to him and waved his hand quickly. The guard saw a flash of light, felt a chill on his neck, and then everything went dark. The other guard, hearing voices, opened his eyes just in time to see his companion falling to the ground, blood spraying from his throat. He opened his mouth to shout, but Jiang Sen covered his mouth with one hand and placed a knife against his neck. “If you want to live, don’t scream!” Jiang Sen said viciously. The guard was so scared his pants got wet. He didn’t know how two ruthless men in black had appeared at the headquarters. Hearing Jiang Sen’s words, he nodded blankly. Jiang Sen and Sanyan pushed the guard against the wall, pressing sharp knives against his throat. Jiang Sen removed his hand and asked, “Where is Pang Jian?” The guard trembled and said in a shaky voice, “I… I don’t know!”
San Yan thrust the knife forward, and blood immediately flowed from the guard’s neck. He snarled, “Don’t mess with me, or I’ll make you die a horrible death!” The guard cried out, “I said I’d die even worse! The boss will kill my whole family!”
