Chapter 14: Overcome the Tribulation

Qu Yi followed the advice of the Artifact God, realizing that his current strength was not enough to harm those ten beings from the Upper Realm. Thus, he first needed to endure the 99 Heavens Tribulations to enhance his cultivation before confronting them.

Above the Reincarnation Star, Qu Yi’s figure suddenly appeared.
“Qu Yi!”
The ten beings fighting against the Life Core of the Soul-Attracting Flower all noticed him, each expressing surprise, whose voices spread throughout the Reincarnation Star.
“Hehe, everyone. I never expected that such powerful figures as you would be suppressed by just a flower. Well, I’ve appeared here to tell you that once I’ve overcome the 99 Heavens Tribulations, I’ll meet you again,” Qu Yi shouted happily.

Without waiting for their reply, Qu Yi immediately teleported away.
The ten beings from the Upper Realm grew anxious. They had taken a long time to find Qu Yi, and now he was leaving again—how long would it take them to locate him?

So, they all shouted with all their might:
“Soul Flower, suppress!”

In an instant, the various Soul Flowers above their heads emitted an aura that seemed to crush the heavens. The primal energy around their bodies was drawn by the Soul Flowers and shot toward the Life Core of the Soul-Attracting Flower.

Whoosh!
The Life Core of the Soul-Attracting Flower immediately sensed the danger and silently retreated underground, abandoning its fight against the ten beings.

The ten beings didn’t bother to confront the Life Core either. They immediately teleported into space and chased after Qu Yi, who was also teleporting through the stars.

At this moment, Qu Yi hadn’t used the Boundless Star Dots to leave, deliberately allowing the ten beings to leave the Reincarnation Star. It wasn’t until their presence appeared behind him that he activated the Boundless Star Dots, using his primal energy.

“You don’t have to wait long. In half a year, we’ll meet again,” a voice reached the ten beings as Qu Yi’s body disappeared.

The spiritual senses of the ten beings also sensed Qu Yi’s absence, realizing he had escaped using a space-traveling artifact.

“Damn it!” they shouted in anger.

But now, the ten beings were at a loss. After all, five Soul Essences had already hidden inside the Reincarnation Star, and the Reincarnation Star, guarded by the Soul-Attracting Flower, was beyond their control. Without the Soul Essences, they couldn’t determine which planet Qu Yi would go to, and thus couldn’t find him.

The ten beings exchanged glances and immediately flew away.

Of course, these ten people would definitely not give up pursuing Qu Yi. Once they separated, they sat quietly in the starry sky around Reincarnation Star, constantly monitoring the entire planet. As soon as five soul essences emerged from inside, they would immediately capture them to determine Qu Yi’s location in the Five Souls Desolation.

……

At this moment, Qu Yi had arrived on a planet in the inner area of the Five Souls Desolation and then entered the Dimensional Sphere, where he continued to meditate in silence.

The Four Elements Dao explained in detail how four types of energy could be applied to a formation, and his understanding of the five elements’ energies had become extremely profound.

Qu Yi had now scanned most of the Four Elements Dao, with only a small part remaining before he could complete the scan. Once that was done, his soul realm would reach the later stage of tribulation crossing, allowing him to face the Ninety-Nine Heavens Tribulation.

Therefore, Qu Yi decided to continue meditating in the Dimensional Sphere, preparing to endure the Ninety-Nine Heavens Tribulation.

Half a year passed.

Qu Yi, sitting by the lake in the Dimensional Sphere, suddenly opened his eyes, which shone with brilliance, as a faint smile appeared on his lips.

“Vessel God, I have completed scanning the Four Elements Dao. My soul realm has advanced to the later stage of tribulation crossing. The Ninety-Nine Heavens Tribulation will begin in three days,” Qu Yi said calmly.

The Vessel God, lying on a soft chair nearby, turned over and glanced at Qu Yi with a smile. “Three days, huh? Fine. Then go to Reincarnation Star to face the tribulation.”

Hearing this, Qu Yi showed an expression of disbelief and immediately asked, “Vessel God, have you been sleeping for too long? Has your mind gone wrong? Reincarnation Star has Soul-Stealing Flowers. I don’t want to be attacked by them after I complete the tribulation. Moreover, I’m sure those ten guys are somewhere near Reincarnation Star. They will definitely notice the upheaval caused by my tribulation, and they’ll attack me right after it’s over.”

Others who faced tribulation would choose a remote place to avoid interference, but the Vessel God actually wanted him to go to the most dangerous Reincarnation Star—Qu Yi found this hard to understand.

As if he hadn’t heard Qu Yi’s words, the Vessel God laughed again and said, “Don’t worry. During the tribulation, none of them will dare to attack you. So you’ll be safe throughout the process. In fact, the main reason I want you to go to Reincarnation Star is those five soul essences.”

“Five soul essences?” Qu Yi looked at the Vessel God in confusion.

The Vessel God nodded and suddenly wore a strange smile, asking softly, “Qu Yi, have Qing Wu Gui and Mu Han gone to the Five Elements Extreme Realm?”

The Five Elements Extreme Realm, like the Five Souls Desolation, was one of the two extreme realms in the cultivation world.

Qu Yi looked at the Artifact God with a puzzled expression, unable to understand how his thoughts had jumped to the Realm of the Five Elements. What did that have to do with his own tribulation?

The Artifact God observed Qu Yi’s expression for a while, then laughed heartily and said, “Qu Yi, head to Reincarnation Star first. After you go through the tribulation, you’ll understand my intentions. There’s a tremendous opportunity waiting for you.”

Qu Yi shook his head, realizing that the Artifact God was keeping things from him. Since he couldn’t figure it out, he decided to follow his words.

Soon, Qu Yi left the Tiny Realm Sphere and, through a series of teleportations, returned to above Reincarnation Star, preparing to face the Nine-Nine Heavenly Tribulation.

……

At that moment, Reincarnation Star was once again covered in flowers. The Soul-Collecting Flowers returned to the ground, causing all their stamens to bloom once more. Naturally, the life core of the Soul-Collecting Flowers was underground; it wouldn’t emerge without sensing a powerful presence.

The five soul spirits, just like the life core of the Soul-Collecting Flowers, dared not show themselves on the surface. Clearly, they were terrified by the strength of the ten beings from the upper realm. Moreover, they had gained intelligence and knew those ten wouldn’t let them go easily. So, they planned to stay on Reincarnation Star for a long time, emerging only after those ten left.

Meanwhile, the ten beings from the upper realm remained outside Reincarnation Star, their spiritual senses outstretched, monitoring any changes on the planet and keeping an eye on the five soul spirits. The moment they appeared, they would act to capture them.

Both sides remained calm.

Qu Yi’s sudden appearance was noticed not only by the Soul-Collecting Flowers on Reincarnation Star but also by the ten beings in the starry sky, who immediately spotted him.

“Haha, Qu Yi, now I’ll see where you run. Space Seal!” As soon as the ten beings saw Qu Yi, they teleported over, flipping their palms to release primordial energy, aiming to seal the space where he was.

However, before those ten could reach him, Qu Yi teleported away immediately.

“You ten bastards! Don’t think just because you’re strong, you can deal with me. Before long, you’ll be waiting to be killed one by one by me!” Qu Yi shouted loudly from the surface of Reincarnation Star.

Hearing this, the ten beings from the upper realm each smiled faintly before trying to teleport over again to chase Qu Yi.

But at that exact moment, clouds gathered above the area where Qu Yi was, along with swirling spiritual energy. Countless energies from heaven and earth converged—not only the spiritual energy of Reincarnation Star but also endless energy from the starry sky.

“What? This kid is about to go through a tribulation!”

The ten beings from the upper realm immediately stopped in mid-air, shouting in disbelief.

The heavenly calamity is a punishment from heaven, one that can only be endured by the person undergoing it. If anyone dares to enter the area where the calamity strikes, they are defying heaven’s will and will immediately suffer its punishment—death. Thus, the ten beings from the upper realm did not dare to attack Qu Yi at this moment; they did not want to be killed by the heavenly calamity. So, all ten of them stayed in the air, waiting patiently for the calamity to pass before capturing Qu Yi. The Soul-Connecting Flowers on the Reincarnation Planet also sensed the changes in heaven and earth, realizing that someone was about to undergo a calamity. They immediately retracted their stamens from the entire planet’s surface, exposing it completely. Seeing the heavenly calamity approaching, Qu Yi waved his hand at the ten beings in the air, then calmly waited for it to strike. In the sky, storm clouds had formed; red clouds roared across the sky, lightning flashed like dragons, and thunder rumbled like waterfalls. Colorful clouds were clearly distinct, exuding an apocalyptic power that shook heaven and earth. The nine-nine layers of heavenly calamity had now taken shape.
