Chapter 6: First Arrival at Fangluo Mountain

For thousands of miles around, there were only towering mountains, dense ancient forests, roaring beasts, deep waters and rapid currents everywhere, with mists lingering in the air all year round.
At the heart of these mountains stood a mountain that reached the heavens—Fangluo Mountain.
At that moment, two people were flying toward Fangluo Mountain hand in hand, their swords in hand, feeling joyful and relaxed.
Qu Yi and Bai Man had finally arrived at Fangluo Mountain from the Xianyun Sect.
According to the Voice of the Divine Weapon, there were two reasons to come to Fangluo Mountain: one was to kill monsters and obtain their magic pills, and the other was to examine the space teleportation array at the top of the mountain to see if they could find a way to teleport to other planets.
Qu Yi agreed because he realized that Cui Mu Planet had extremely scarce resources—there were barely over a hundred people at the Golden Core stage, not enough for him to devour. Thus, he needed to find larger cultivation planets to seize Golden Core pills.
“Fangluo Mountain is here!” Qu Yi shouted loudly.
Immediately afterward, he and Bai Man landed on a mountain peak covered with red flowers, holding hands.
“Wow, Qu Yi, the scenery here is truly beautiful,” Bai Man said in admiration as she took in the surroundings.
Qu Yi’s heart skipped a beat. Whenever Bai Man went somewhere, she would always praise the beauty of the scenery. Sure enough, it happened again. But Qu Yi smiled and nodded repeatedly, pretending to fully agree with her.
“Enough. We’re not here to enjoy the scenery. Let’s start preparing to kill monsters now,” the Voice of the Divine Weapon said calmly.
Qu Yi responded with an “oh” and immediately took out the Green Python Sword. Although this top-grade magic weapon was not as good as the Red Nan Sword, it was suitable for Qu Yi at this stage.
Bai Man, whose interest in the scenery had been interrupted by the Voice of the Divine Weapon, reluctantly took out the Locust Snake Sword.
According to their plan, the two would start from the edge of the mountainous area and fight their way all the way to the top of Fangluo Mountain.
Qu Yi and Bai Man immediately flew close to the mountains, using their spiritual senses to detect monsters along the way.
…
A white-eyed spotted tiger strode leisurely through the forests, its head held high. This forest was its territory, its kingdom—no one dared to disturb it.
Suddenly, two figures appeared before the white-eyed spotted tiger.
Roar!
The tiger let out a fierce cry before finally focusing on the two people who had suddenly appeared before it.
Qu Yi and Bai Man smiled amiably, but behind their kindness lay ruthless intent.
The white-eyed spotted tiger was a monster at the mid-Golden Core stage. With a sweep of its spiritual senses, it realized that these two humans were only at the early Golden Core stage. Its wariness vanished instantly, and its eyes burned with intensity.

“Senior sister, should I go first or you?” Qu Yi asked with a smile, ignoring the White-Eyed Spotted Tiger that was closing in step by step.
“You go first; I’ll handle the surprise attack,” Bai Man replied happily.
The White-Eyed Spotted Tiger was already five meters away from them. With a single leap, it could kill both of them at once, its eyes gleaming even brighter.
Suddenly, Qu Yi moved, appearing right behind the White-Eyed Spotted Tiger.
“Cloud-Dispelling Style!” Qu Yi shouted softly, then thrust his Green Python Sword forward. A beam of golden true energy shot out from the sword, aiming straight at the tiger’s rear.
The White-Eyed Spotted Tiger, highly alert, immediately realized that if that true energy hit it, the wound on its rear would be completely destroyed.
Auw!
It quickly twisted around, allowing Qu Yi’s sword energy to pass by. At the same time, it opened its mouth wide and fired ten golden light arrows.
Qu Yi immediately activated the Green Python Sword, sending out layers of sword energy—clearly the Cloud-Dispelling Style from the Cloud Sword Eight Styles. Ten streams of sword energy met the golden light arrows head-on.
At that moment, Bai Man took action.
“Tiger, pay for this!” With a clear cry, she drew her Locust Snake Sword and charged at the White-Eyed Spotted Tiger.
The tiger, which had been facing Qu Yi, now sensed another dangerous force approaching its rear. It quickly twisted around and spat out a ball of true energy.
Bai Man dodged swiftly, only to see the true energy ball hit a large tree behind her, piercing through it and continuing toward the trees further back.
In the forest, hundreds of large trees collapsed one after another with a rustling sound.
Seeing that the White-Eyed Spotted Tiger was attacking Bai Man, Qu Yi immediately swung his Green Python Sword again. A gust of golden true energy formed and rushed toward the tiger.
Auw!
The White-Eyed Spotted Tiger was enraged. Only then did it realize that these two humans had been teasing it all along—alternating attacks aimed at its rear. It was utterly infuriating.
This time, the tiger didn’t twist around. Instead, a golden halo suddenly enveloped its body, used to block Qu Yi’s gust of energy. Meanwhile, it leaped straight at Bai Man.
“You wretch, how dare you!”
Seeing that the White-Eyed Spotted Tiger was finally enraged and acting so fiercely, Qu Yi quickly retracted his Green Python Sword and sent a message to the Sword Spirit.
Bai Man fought desperately, being chased by the tiger through the trees.
Suddenly, two blood mosquito kings the size of a person and about two hundred blood-sucking mosquitoes appeared beside Qu Yi. In an instant, the swarm of blood mosquitoes moved, forming a blood-red stream that flew above the White-Eyed Spotted Tiger.
Punch!

The White-Eyed Spotted Tiger detected the Blood-Sucking Mosquitoes, but it had no way to resist their attacks. Nearly 200 of those Blood-Sucking Mosquitoes rushed into the Tiger’s body at almost the same time, and soon the Tiger began to wither rapidly.
After the Artifact God successfully bred the Blood-Sucking Mosquitoes, they finally proved useful—immediately claiming the life of a White-Eyed Spotted Tiger in the middle stage of the Golden Core phase.
“The effect is excellent. With these Blood-Sucking Mosquitoes, no matter how many demonic beasts come, they’ll all lose their lives,” said the Artifact God joyfully.
Qu Yi was too lazy to reply. He immediately flew over to Bai Man and asked anxiously, “Senior sister, are you okay?”
Bai Man retracted her Locust Snake Sword and said angrily, “You had these Blood-Sucking Mosquitoes—why didn’t you use them from the start? Did you want the tiger to eat me?”
Qu Yi was speechless and stood there frozen.
“What are you standing around for? That tiger has already been eaten by the Blood-Sucking Mosquitoes. Go and get that demonic pill now!” Bai Man shouted angrily again.
Qu Yi quickly drew his Green Python Sword, split the White-Eyed Spotted Tiger open, and found a golden demonic pill.
Those Blood-Sucking Mosquitoes only fed on the essence and blood of demonic beasts and showed no interest in the pill.
“The demonic pill is in your hands now. Let’s keep moving forward,” Bai Man said irritably.
Qu Yi’s head was about to explode. He hadn’t expected Bai Man to get so angry after being chased by the White-Eyed Spotted Tiger for just a few steps. How could he persuade her?
Oh, right.
“Senior sister, these Blood-Sucking Mosquitoes are amazing, right? How about I give them to you?” Qu Yi called out cheerfully.
Sure enough, upon hearing this, Bai Man immediately flew over to Qu Yi, wearing a dazzlingly beautiful smile and looking extremely happy.
Qu Yi realized that Bai Man wasn’t really angry. She had become interested in the powerful lethality of the Blood-Sucking Mosquitoes but didn’t want to ask him directly, so she had said those indifferent words.
“Good thing I’m quick-witted. Otherwise, I would’ve suffered a lot these past few days,” Qu Yi thought to himself.
A moment later, Bai Man took out a spirit bag, dropped blood on the foreheads of the two Blood Mosquito Kings, and cast a spirit-binding mark, turning them into her own demonic pets. Then she put all the Blood-Sucking Mosquitoes into the spirit bag.
“Qu Yi, thank you,” Bai Man said happily.
“It’s nothing. Anything you want, I’ll definitely give it to you,” Qu Yi laughed.
With these Blood-Sucking Mosquitoes, Bai Man’s safety would now have at least one more layer of protection, which put Qu Yi at ease.
……
“Senior sister, there’s an Iron-Headed Lion ahead—early stage of the Golden Core phase. Let’s go,” Qu Yi called out cheerfully in the air.

Sensing the spiritual energy, Qu Yi knew what to do and guided Bai Man in the right direction. After obtaining the Blood-Sucking Mosquitoes, Bai Man became extremely excited and vowed to kill all the Golden Core-level monsters in Fanglao Mountain. Although Qu Yi was shocked by her ambition, he didn’t object and stayed with her as they explored the mountain. Soon, they arrived above a rocky mountain, where atop it stood an Iron-Headed Lion, looking down on everything below. “Senior sister, shall I kill this lion or shall you?” Qu Yi asked with a smile. “With me here, there’s no need for you to intervene. Watch me,” Bai Man immediately refused his help and flew excitedly toward the mountain top, her hand already on her spirit bag. Roar! The Iron-Headed Lion detected the visitors in the air and roared to warn Bai Man not to come down. “Hello, lion. Die!” Bai Man emitted a trace of true energy from her hand and opened her spirit bag. Instantly, two hundred Blood-Sucking Mosquitoes rushed forward, forming a red swarm that flew straight at the Iron-Headed Lion. Roar! Roar! The lion screamed in terror twice—it had sensed that among those two hundred mosquitoes, ten were of Golden Core strength. It was utterly unable to resist them. In panic, the lion jumped off the mountain top. Facing certain death, it chose to leap off a 2,000-meter-high cliff to save itself. The Blood-Sucking Mosquitoes missed their target. Bai Man was stunned for a moment before clenching her fists and shouting, “Blood-Sucking Mosquitoes, chase the lion down the mountain!” Following her command, the mosquitoes flew down the mountain, determined to devour the dying lion alive or at least eat its corpse. Qu Yi shook his head in the air and had no choice but to follow Bai Man down the mountain. Soon, they arrived at the foot of the mountain and saw that the Iron-Headed Lion was barely alive, but the Blood-Sucking Mosquitoes showed no mercy, quickly flying over and eating the dying lion completely. “These Blood-Sucking Mosquitoes are so heartless, cruel, and unreasonable,” Qu Yi remarked upon seeing the lion eaten up. Bai Man immediately pinched his waist and said indignantly, “Don’t say that. The Blood-Sucking Mosquitoes are very brave.” Qu Yi didn’t say a word despite the pinch, but his gaze fell on a strange monster about a hundred meters ahead.
