Chapter 169: The Loss of the Divine Realm
“What qualifications do I have?”
A faint smile appeared on Chen Xiao’s face.
“That’s my qualification.”
Chen Xiao stretched out his right hand and, with a single grasp, strands of elemental forces condensed in the air, forming a giant hand that reached out to grab Cassius’s body.
Seeing Chen Xiao take action personally, Suo Hen and the others stepped back slightly, showing no intention of interfering.
When Cassius saw Chen Xiao suddenly attacking, his eyes narrowed slightly. He threw a punch, unleashing his powerful Void God energy straight at the giant hand.
“Delusional.”
Chen Xiao smiled faintly. With one grab, he crushed Cassius’s Void God energy and slapped him across the body.
That single palm strike destroyed countless of Cassius’s Void God laws, leaving his avatar weak and listless in an instant.
“Is this… the power of a deity?” Cassius stared at Chen Xiao in disbelief. What Chen Xiao was using was no longer the techniques of cultivators or Void Gods. That immense power simply shattered Cassius’s spirit. What Chen Xiao had used was the power of the Prime God’s realm—the true might of a Prime God. By gaining control over some of the laws of that realm, Chen Xiao’s strength was now almost on par with that of a true Prime God.
“Do you submit? If not, I’ll keep hitting you until you do.” Chen Xiao stepped in front of Cassius and looked down at him condescendingly.
Cassius gritted his teeth and said, “Your strength is formidable. You’re a true deity. By following you, I’ll also reap great benefits.”
“You’re smart. Smart people usually live longer,” Chen Xiao nodded in satisfaction.
“This is what it feels like to have power. Strength—this is true power. Even the lofty Void Gods bow before me. If I had such power in the outside world and could control everything, what would I fear?” Chen Xiao reflected inwardly.
Cassius made a quick decision and knelt on the ground, worshipping Chen Xiao. He had now witnessed Chen Xiao’s abilities and was almost certain that Chen Xiao was a true deity.
To desecrate a deity could lead to dire consequences—if the deity pursued him, it was entirely possible for it to come to his lair and destroy him.
“Prime God…”
Suddenly, Cassius raised his head and stared at Chen Xiao in horror. A deity was already terrifying enough, but a Prime God was the supreme being in the universe. A Prime God was countless times nobler than a deity—the ruler of all gods.
He had already learned from Xinyang’s reports about Chen Xiao’s identity: a Prime God!
Chen Xiao closed his eyes, carefully absorbing the faith energy he had obtained from Cassius.
“Good, very good.” A ripple passed through Chen Xiao’s mind.
As a Void God, Cassius possessed an incredibly abundant amount of faith energy. Even if Chen Xiao had combined all the faith energy he had obtained before, it would still not compare to Cassius’s alone.
Chen Xiao divided this power of faith into two parts. One part was stored for future use, while the other was further split into two halves. One half was integrated into his soul to accelerate its fusion with the Supreme Godhood, and the other half was applied directly to his physical body, raising his physical strength to the sixth level. The remaining part was incorporated into Chen Xiao’s mental energy, instantly elevating it from the early stage of the sixth level to its peak. He then continued to strengthen this foundation without forcing an immediate rise to the seventh level.
Chen Xiao looked at Cassius. With a wave of his hand, the power of the laws in the Supreme God Space was directed at Cassius, and the various laws of the Virtual Gods quickly condensed within his avatar’s body. In the next moment, the laws of the Virtual Gods that had just been shattered by Chen Xiao grew back, even stronger than before.
“This…”
Cassius stared in disbelief at his own hands, then his face lit up with ecstasy. The laws of the Virtual Gods on his avatar were now twice as many as those on his original body! This meant that once his avatar merged with his original body, his strength would experience a qualitative leap.
“Cassius…” Chen Xiao pondered for a moment before saying, “Next, move your forces to the superhuman world on Earth and expand my Glory Temple.”
“Lord Supreme…” Cassius looked slightly troubled.
“Just call me Young Master. The title ‘Lord Supreme’ must never be revealed,” Chen Xiao interrupted him.
“Yes, Young Master.” Cassius nodded and continued, “It’s easy to move my forces to the superhuman world, but I myself cannot appear there.”
“Hm? Why?” Chen Xiao was surprised.
“That superhuman world is also known as the Land of Godly Collapse. It’s a taboo among the gods. Not even Virtual Gods, let alone actual gods, dare to descend there,” Cassius explained. “Moreover, the entrance to the Land of Godly Collapse—that planet called Earth—is guarded by a terrifying force. Many gods have tried to take control of that planet, but they were all killed by that force and failed.”
“If not for this, we wouldn’t have sent our pawns there with our Virtual God Transmission Array to gather strength in the superhuman world. We would have descended directly to that Celestial Dragon Secret Realm.”
“What?!” Chen Xiao was shocked. More than one god had been killed? This was no trivial matter—only a god could kill another god. And there were real gods on Earth?
Suddenly, Chen Xiao remembered what Yingyi had said before—he had been thrown into the superhuman world after advancing to the Source Realm, with a warning not to appear in the secular world. Also, the superhumans in the secular world didn’t dare to be too reckless, likely due to that mysterious force.
“Tell me everything you know about the superhuman world and Earth,” Chen Xiao said with a grave expression. If there truly was such a terrifying force on Earth, he would need to reconsider his plans.
Cassius shook his head. “The legends about Earth and the world of superpowers are just that—legends. I don’t know much about them. But after my pawn Lian Shang entered Earth, he indeed received a warning from a mysterious force, forbidding him from causing trouble in the secular world of Earth. In fact, he could appear there at most three times.”
“That’s it. It seems it really is the case,” Chen Xiao nodded. Then he lowered his head slightly, thought carefully for a while, and asked, “Cassius, where are you? In the Divine Realm?”
Cassius shook his head and said, “I, along with many virtual gods and true deities, are in a place called the Source Continent. It’s a huge world floating in the universe, completely different from inferior planets like Earth.”
As he spoke, Cassius glanced at the glowing dots floating in the Main God Space, which were clearly other worlds.
“Around the Source Continent, there are also other small worlds. My faction is located in a small world called Langya World,” Cassius continued. “As for the legendary Divine Realm, it now exists only in legends. The Divine Realm… has been lost.”
“The Divine Realm lost?” Chen Xiao blinked. It seemed he had heard an extremely amusing joke.
“That’s right, it’s lost. The Divine Realm, along with the ancient deities that once existed there, has all disappeared. No one can find the whereabouts of the Divine Realm, and even those ancient deities have vanished without a trace, never to reappear. Most of the deities we have now rose to power after the loss of the Divine Realm. Of course, deep within the Source Continent, there are still ancient deities.”
Cassius nodded and spoke slowly. The loss of the Divine Realm and its deities seemed incredible even to Cassius, but it was the truth, as confirmed by countless virtual gods and true deities.
It wasn’t that the gates of the Divine Realm had been closed to prevent new deities from entering; rather, the void where the Divine Realm once was had turned into nothingness, and the world of the Divine Realm was nowhere to be found.
Chen Xiao frowned slightly. His mental energy immediately connected with Shui Miao, who was watching from the side.
“Shui Miao, do you know what’s going on? The Divine Realm lost?” Chen Xiao asked in confusion.
“This is beyond your current understanding,” Shui Miao hesitated for a moment before saying, “The Divine Realm has indeed been lost. As for the reasons behind it, I’m not very clear either.”
Although Shui Miao said this, Chen Xiao knew she must be aware of some details. But Chen Xiao didn’t press further. Whether the Divine Realm was lost or not didn’t concern him. He was just a sixth-tier superhuman—strengthening his power and expanding his influence was what truly mattered.
“Also, Chen Xiao, it’s best not to bring the forces of these virtual gods to Earth right now. For you, Earth or that world of superpowers is just a shallow pool. The Source Continent is your real stage.”
Hearing Shui Miao say this, Chen Xiao took a deep breath and slowly said, “If one can’t even conquer a shallow pond, how can they talk about a grand stage? But Cassius’s forces can serve as a nail buried in the Land of Origins, and at the same time, help me develop my power of faith.” With a wave of his hand, a statue and an extremely powerful virtual divine artifact appeared before Cassius. “Place this statue in your forces to help me grow faith. As for this virtual divine artifact, it will be used by you to suppress your enemies.” The face on that statue was that of the Divine Master, the God of Glory. Since Chen Xiao was still weak at the moment and couldn’t appear in person to openly receive worship and absorb faith, he used this method instead. As for the virtual divine artifact, it was taken from the main god’s treasure vault. Its inherent laws of the virtual gods were almost on par with those of the Nest Mark—just one step short of becoming a true divine artifact.
