Chapter 155: The Great Domain
“The God of Freedom? The Temple of Freedom?”
Chen Xiao was momentarily stunned. Subconsciously, he thought some faction had copied his idea and created such a temple as well.
“Explain in detail,” Chen Xiao said, looking at Wan Hu. Even Fu Yun showed great interest.
“The Great Domain of Japan experienced a wave of evil spirits yesterday. Although it was far weaker than the previous wave in the Flame Soul Domain—with few blood-colored evil spirits present—it still managed to break through their first and second protective barriers,” Wan Hu said. “But just then, a green temple descended from the sky, killing all the evil spirits around it. Then, the green temple landed in the center of the Great Domain, establishing a temple there.”
Chen Xiao was speechless. He was convinced that some supernatural faction was trying to create mystery and expand its influence under the guise of a temple.
“What does their establishment of a temple have to do with our Glorious Temple?”
Wan Hu hesitated for a while before saying, “From that Temple of Freedom, a so-called messenger of the gods emerged. That messenger seemed to have long heard of the deeds of the God of Glory. As soon as he appeared, he declared that the God of Glory was a fake deity, and the Glorious Temple was a fake temple that deceived people, calling for all the major forces in the supernatural world to unite and attack it.”
“The few supernatural beings I sent to gather information were also killed by them, and their heads were hung in front of that temple.”
Chen Xiao sneered coldly, his expression darkening.
“Targeting our Glorious Temple directly? Trying to rise to power by exploiting our name?” Chen Xiao instantly understood the intentions of this so-called Temple of Freedom. “Calling on all the major forces in the supernatural world? How many will respond?”
“The supernatural forces of Japan, and those in other regions of the supernatural world, haven’t heard of it. It seems they’re all observing secretly. Young master, should we retaliate?” Wan Hu asked cautiously.
“Retaliate? Of course we must,” Chen Xiao snarled. “Those Japanese supernatural beings and that so-called Temple of Freedom probably covet this sunny region in the Flame Soul Domain, so much so that they’re willing to use all their national forces to seize it. They’re just fools. Fu Yun, focus all your efforts on crafting evil spirit puppets. Make sure to finish making those 30,000 puppets before the Temple of Freedom attacks.”
Noticing Chen Xiao’s expression, Fu Yun didn’t dare refuse. He could only nod repeatedly.
“Wan Hu, call Shidley and tell him to issue a call to all the major supernatural forces in China. Say that the Japanese supernatural beings are coveting this sunny region in the Flame Soul Domain, so they created a fake temple to seize it under the guise of a deity.”
Wan Hu nodded upon hearing Chen Xiao’s words.
“Inform Shadow Wing to take four Dark Temple Protectors and go to the various regions of the supernatural world in Japan to assassinate some of their key figures, throwing them into chaos. As for that Great Domain, don’t take any action until we understand their true intentions better.” A sinister smile appeared on Chen Xiao’s lips. “Since you’ve set your sights on me, I don’t mind turning Japan into a mere secular world, free of any supernatural beings.”
Hearing Chen Xiao’s words, Wan Hu and Fu Yun couldn’t help but shudder, not even Leng Shi was an exception.
“Young master,” Fu Yun spoke up at that moment, “that so-called Temple of Freedom already knows our strength yet still dares to target us like this. It’s possible they have some hidden cards.”
A hint of confidence appeared on Chen Xiao’s face. “If they have hidden cards, don’t I have any? Behind the Temple of Glory are true gods.”
Leng Shi, on the side, showed a trace of shock upon hearing Chen Xiao’s words. He had now recovered slightly from the weakness caused by his soul memories being extracted, and his mind had become a bit clearer.
He finally understood where he was—inside the Temple of Glory, the legendary place where gods manifested. Earlier, Leng Shi had thought that the so-called divine being was the white-haired, white-clothed, somewhat mad-looking fourth-level domain expert before him. But after hearing Chen Xiao’s words, he was utterly astonished.
Were there really gods?
After all, even the Sea God Temple of the Atlantis Empire was nothing but an empty shell. Although it worshipped the Sea God, that so-called Sea God had never appeared before—it was merely a product of the Atlanteans’ delusions and a tool used by successive sea kings to control people’s hearts.
Leng Shi didn’t doubt Chen Xiao’s words. After all, even a fourth-level domain expert was submissive in front of Chen Xiao, which made it hard for Leng Shi to gauge Chen Xiao’s true strength.
“Hmm, if such a fourth-level domain expert were to go to the capital of Atlantis, perhaps only the Sea King himself, by performing the Sea God Ritual, could subdue him…”
Leng Shi silently weighed the pros and cons. But with his soul damaged, he forgot that all his soul memories had already been read by Fu Yun. All the secrets of the Atlantis Empire he knew were now in Fu Yun’s hands.
“Fu Yun, after dealing with this Temple of Freedom, head straight to Atlantis and capture an old priest from the temple. I need to master the method of obtaining the blessing of the East Sea God as soon as possible,” Chen Xiao said after some thought. “As for the Heavenly Dragon Secret Repository, there’s no movement from the Soul of China or the vampires for now. It seems there’s still some time before anything is unearthed, so there’s no need to rush.”
“Young master, then what about you now…” Fu Yun looked at Chen Xiao’s expression, hesitating to speak.
“Hmph, I’ll go meet that so-called Temple of Freedom first to find out exactly who they are.”
A warm smile appeared on Chen Xiao’s face.
……
The Great Domain was the largest domain in the Japanese supernatural world and also the location of the Japanese Supernaturalists Association headquarters. The fierce wave of monsters from yesterday was equally brutal—although there were only seven Blood-colored Monsters, the other ordinary monsters were all powerful beings at the fourth, even fifth or sixth levels.
Although such a wave of monsters wasn’t as severe as the Blood-colored Monster Wave, it was still unprecedented in the history of the supernatural world. With unified command, such a wave could easily shatter two layers of defenses.
But just after the horde of evil spirits slaughtered many supernatural beings from Japan, a emerald-green temple descended from the sky, emitting countless beams of divine light that instantly wiped out those evil spirits. However, the light from that temple paled in comparison to that of the divine priests; it merely eliminated all the evil spirits in the horde.
Subsequently, the temple settled at the center of the Great Domain, where the Free Temple was established to worship the God of Freedom. What happened next was that the Free Temple directly targeted the Temple of Glory, accusing its deity of being a false god.
Chen Xiao was still the same aristocratic young master as before, looking exactly like Shang Weiting from the Chi Meng Domain.
“Is there really divine power in this temple?” Chen Xiao couldn’t help but show surprise as he stared at the emerald-green temple before him.
