Chapter 020: Liuyun Hotel

By the time the few idiots in the dormitory returned, it was already past 2 a.m. But since it was Saturday, staying up all night wasn’t a problem.
By then, Chen Xiao had already finished everything and was lying in bed dozing off—familiarizing himself with the sea of consciousness and communicating with the main divine entity, transferring subtle forces from it into his own body.
When those idiots came back, Chen Xiao felt uneasy again. He had left without Qin Mengyao even sending a text to check on him.
…
Early the next morning, at 6 a.m., Chen Xiao got up on time. After brushing his teeth and washing up, he left the dormitory and headed to the bus stop in front of the school.
Soon, the first bus to Jinghua City’s downtown area arrived slowly. It was the weekend, so the bus was quite full, but there were still a few seats. Chen Xiao found a seat by the window and sat down.
At that moment, Chen Xiao felt anxious. It was April 13th, and there were still over ten days before the group military training. He wasn’t sure if the supervisor would be lenient enough to give him an extra month.
The bus sped along, and Chen Xiao’s mind was in chaos—thoughts of the troubles among superhumans, images of Qin Mengyao popping into his head, and then worries about food.
“It seems being a superhuman isn’t any different from before—still can’t win over the girl I like, still can’t solve my food problems,” Chen Xiao thought gloomily.
The bus quickly entered Jinghua City’s downtown area. After changing buses a few times, at 7 a.m., Chen Xiao arrived at the entrance of Liuyun Hotel on time.
Liuyun Hotel was a five-star hotel, with top-notch facilities throughout Jinghua City. Chen Xiao was able to get a part-time job here purely by luck, so he was determined not to give it up.
Liuyun Hotel officially opened at 9 a.m. every day, and Chen Xiao was used to arriving two hours early—first to make a good impression on the supervisor and second to check if there was anything needed to prepare.
“Chen Xiao, you’re here.” By now, many employees were already working there.
A woman in her thirties, still looking stunning, smiled and greeted Chen Xiao.
“Hey, Chen Xiao. I noticed that after a week apart, your skin has gotten so much better.” She looked at him in surprise.
“I spent the whole week studying indoors and hardly went outside, that’s why my skin turned fairer,” Chen Xiao replied with a wry smile, making an excuse. He didn’t want to explain too much. His body had been transformed by the main divine entity, giving him fair and delicate skin—almost several times better than that of ordinary girls.
“I see.” The woman lowered her head and thought for a moment, but still felt something was off. Could staying in the dormitory for a week really make one’s skin that good? By the time she looked up, Chen Xiao had already disappeared.
In the dressing room, Chen Xiao felt a bit depressed. He didn’t like his fair and delicate skin. A man should have tanned skin.
“I need to find a way to restore my skin color,” Chen Xiao said with a wry smile.

“Chen Xiao, you’re here. You…” At that moment, a young man in his twenties or thirties walked in. Upon seeing Chen Xiao, he was briefly stunned, clearly also shocked by her changes.
“Boss Liu, hello.” Chen Xiao chose to ignore Liu Ming’s expression. This Liu Ming was her supervisor, her direct boss.
“Boss Liu, there’s something I’d like to talk to you about,” Chen Xiao said after thinking for a moment.
“What is it? Go ahead,” Liu Ming replied, finally recovering from his shock at Chen Xiao’s changes.
“Well, in May, our school will hold a month-long, fully enclosed military-style training camp. By then…”
“Hmm, I see,” Liu Ming interrupted her. He said regretfully, “You know, our hotel is never short of part-time students. If you take this month off, someone will immediately fill in for you. Moreover, we hire for long-term part-time positions, so I’m very sorry.”
Hearing Liu Ming’s words, Chen Xiao could only nod helplessly. This outcome was just like Qin Mengyao refusing her—she had anticipated it long ago, but it was hard to accept right away.
“Okay, I understand. But there are still two weekends in April…”
“Don’t worry about that. We’ll recruit new staff only when you leave,” Liu Ming said, patting Chen Xiao’s shoulder sympathetically.
Hearing this, Chen Xiao immediately breathed a sigh of relief. She quickly changed into her work uniform and took up her post.
Chen Xiao worked as a server, in other words, carrying dishes and bowls for people. But in such a high-class hotel, it wasn’t too hard work.
……
Murong Zi felt utterly annoyed. She had been surrounded by wealthy young men every day before and was already fed up. Today, her father even forced her to go on a date with Li Chengyun, the person she hated the most, under the pretense of building a relationship.
Had her father gone crazy? Did he think his daughter was a prostitute? Going on a date with that Li Chengyun?
Li Chengyun was a member of the Li family in the capital. The Li family’s influence extended to the military, politics, and finance sectors of Huaxia Country, giving them immense power.
Although Li Chengyun wasn’t exactly a criminal, he still had all the bad habits typical of wealthy young men—drinking, gambling, and the like were commonplace for him. Murong Zi truly despised such aristocratic boys.
But since she couldn’t disobey her father, Murong Zi had no choice but to tough it out and “go on a date” with Li Chengyun for an entire morning to “build a relationship.”
“Zi-er, it’s noon. Let’s go eat,” Li Chengyun suggested after wandering aimlessly in the capital all morning.
To be honest, Li Chengyun was handsome and tall, with a gentle smile on his face at all times. If Murong Zi hadn’t known his true nature, she might have developed feelings for him too.
“Okay, where to?” Murong Zi asked casually, uninterestedly.
“Let’s go to Liuyun. Their dishes are very distinctive. I’m sure you’ll like them,” Li Chengyun smiled, unfazed by Murong Zi’s attitude, because he knew this breathtakingly beautiful woman was already destined to be his wife by his family.

The Murong family also held immense influence in Huaxia Country. If these two got together, it would undoubtedly bring tremendous benefits to both sides. A powerful alliance like this would be enough to intimidate other families and factions across the country. Murong Zi nodded without objecting. Soon, Li Chengyun’s Ferrari stopped in front of the Liuyun Hotel. “It’s Li Chengyun from the Li family and Murong Zi from the Murong family?” As soon as Li Chengyun and Murong Zi got out of the car, the hotel manager immediately noticed them. “Send someone smart to treat these two well. Under no circumstances should they be neglected,” ordered Gu Weihé, the manager of Liuyun Hotel, to his staff. Liu Ming thought for a moment before saying to Chen Xiao, “Chen Xiao, you’re in charge of serving these man and woman. Make sure you treat them well—no mistakes allowed.” “Don’t worry,” she replied with a smile. She had seen many wealthy young masters and ladies like these before. If she served them well, tips would definitely follow. Chen Xiao loved handling such clients the most. Moreover, although she would feel shy and blushing around Qin Mengyao because she liked her, she could still handle other people calmly. Especially now that she had merged with the Main Godhood and become an abler person, a sense of confidence naturally emanated from her.
