Chapter 019: Guidance (Part 2)
After being nourished by the Main Divine Entity for several days, Chen Xiao’s mental power had become incredibly strong. Though it was only a short period, it was enough to bring him immense benefits.
Chen Xiao exerted all his strength to release his mental power, which instantly covered the entire library. Under his mental power, the contents of these books appeared clearly in his mind.
“There it is.”
After a while, Chen Xiao finally found the book marked with the words “Guidance.” He walked over quickly.
On a shelf, hundreds of books on guidance techniques were neatly arranged. Since each superhuman had different needs, they required different guidance techniques. Even within the same category, different types required different techniques. Chen Xiao’s ability was related to water, so Lin Tianchi’s fire-based guidance techniques were useless to him.
Chen Xiao searched rapidly on the shelf and finally found a guidance technique for water-type spellcasters.
As the name suggests, guidance techniques involve channeling the power contained in a superhuman’s blood into spiritual energy and creating a mental sea within their body to store this energy.
Most abilities are inherited through bloodlines. The only difference lies in the concentration of such abilities in the bloodline. Those with strong ability bloodlines will experience an awakening when they reach a certain threshold. The role of guidance techniques is to fully extract the abilities from those who have just begun to develop their powers.
If the ability in the bloodline is strong, guidance techniques can help create a mental sea, transform it into spiritual energy, and enable the individual to reach a certain rank. If the ability in the bloodline is weak, it’s impossible to reach any rank without external assistance.
However, Chen Xiao’s situation was extremely special. He didn’t have a superhuman bloodline at all; his source of power came from the Main Divine Entity in his chest. All he needed to do was use guidance techniques to channel the power of the Main Divine Entity and create a mental sea.
“Tianling Water Art: Guidance.”
Chen Xiao picked up the small booklet, which consisted of just three pages, and flipped to the first page.
“Good, I can understand this.”
Seeing Chinese characters on the page, Chen Xiao breathed a sigh of relief. He quickly wrote down the text. Mo Changli had said that the books here couldn’t be taken out, so after finding the guidance technique, he could only memorize its contents.
But Chen Xiao’s mental power was extremely strong, and his memory was outstanding, so memorizing this information wasn’t difficult at all.
After writing down the guidance technique, Chen Xiao followed the instructions and tried to communicate with the Main Divine Entity. Sure enough, the technique began to work. A warm flow, the power of the Main Divine Entity, flowed from his chest and slowly moved toward his brain along the path outlined by the technique.
“It works!”
Chen Xiao’s eyes lit up. He stopped immediately—this wasn’t the right place to practice guidance.
“I should record those beginner spellbooks too; they might come in handy someday.” Chen Xiao returned to where he was before, picked up the spellbook, forced himself to engrave its contents in his mind to ensure he wouldn’t forget, and then put it back.
“Mo Changli, President Mo!”
After finishing all this, Chen Xiao didn’t stay any longer. If he didn’t hurry back, his roommates might think he had lost his mind for a moment.
The interior of the Superpower Association was huge, almost like a maze. Without guidance, Chen Xiao would likely get completely lost there.
“So fast?” Mo Changli came out of another room, looking at him in surprise. Although two elders from their association had been observing Chen Xiao earlier, they hadn’t expected him to leave so quickly.
Based on past experience, those who first awakened their powers would complete the guidance process in this library before leaving.
“I have other things to do, so I had to record the guidance method and come back later when I have time,” Chen Xiao explained, though he didn’t mention that he had also recorded several other types of spells.
“I see.” Mo Changli nodded and then led Chen Xiao out of the headquarters of the Superpower Association.
“How do I use this thing?” Chen Xiao took out his black crystal card from his pocket and asked.
“There’s a small teleportation array inside this power card, engraved using a superpower crystal as it was formed. As long as you channel your mental energy into it, you can travel back and forth between two worlds. Of course, since your power card was engraved at the headquarters of the North China Superpower Association, you can only come here for now.”
Mo Changli said, “But remember, never use the power card to dodge during a fight. After all, if the transition between these two worlds is disrupted, your body will be torn to pieces instantly.”
Mo Changli spoke seriously.
“Uh…” Chen Xiao shuddered and then nodded.
“I wouldn’t be stupid enough to come here during a fight. The Main God Space is much safer than this,” Chen Xiao thought to himself.
As for where the power card could take him, Chen Xiao didn’t care. In fact, he didn’t like this world filled with monsters and zombies, with no sunlight.
“Then I’ll be leaving first.”
With that, Chen Xiao followed Mo Changli’s instructions, channeling his mental energy into the power card to locate the so-called teleportation array.
“Here.”
Chen Xiao’s eyes lit up suddenly, and his body was enveloped in a black light before disappearing from sight in an instant.
After a whirlwind of sensation, Chen Xiao looked around and found himself back in the small park where he and Mo Changli had been earlier.
“I’ll head back to the dorm first.” Chen Xiao checked his phone—it was already 10 p.m. The celebration party must have ended long ago.
But then several unread messages appeared on his phone. There was no signal in the world of superpowers.
“Boss, 9:30, Tomorrow’s Star KTV. This is your last chance!” The sender was Jiang Xianxiang.
“Chances… chances…” Chen Xiao shook his head with a bitter smile. “This world is too hopeless.”
Realizing Qin Mengyao’s true identity, Chen Xiao didn’t plan to confess to her again for now.
Strength—strength is what truly matters!
Chen Xiao set off, heading toward the school.
By the time he returned to the dormitory, it was already 10:15 p.m. There was no one in the dormitory, nor in the adjacent rooms of the same major; they must still be singing in the KTV.
“It’s good no one’s here. I’ll try the guiding technique first to open up my mental sea.”
Chen Xiao sat on his bed, and his mental energy instantly connected with the main divine entity in his chest, drawing out a portion of its power before he began to practice the guiding technique.
Although this portion of the divine power was only a trace, it was extremely powerful. After circulating within Chen Xiao’s body, it headed toward his mind.
Chen Xiao’s body trembled violently, and that trace of divine power instantly gathered in his mind.
“Guiding technique—open the mental sea!”
Boom!
A loud roar echoed in Chen Xiao’s mind, followed by a brief lapse in consciousness.
It seemed another space had been created within his brain, and the main divine entity in his chest immediately connected with this space. Bit by bit, the divine power flowed into this space, namely his mental sea.
At that moment, Chen Xiao had an epiphany: if the power from the main divine entity in his chest were fully integrated into his mental sea and formed a separate divine entity there, then he would truly possess the power of the main deity.
