Chapter 610: The Bounty That Has Been Out for a Thousand Years
Ye Feng and the others strolled carefree down the streets of Longquan City. Logically, after thousands of years, no one should still remember who he was. Yet Ye Feng noticed that many people in Longquan City were looking at him with strange expressions.
“Is there something on my face?” Ye Feng couldn’t help but ask Long Tian beside him.
“No,” Long Tian shook his head.
“Then why are they looking at me so strangely?” Ye Feng felt something was off.
“Just look at that small advertisement over there…” Long Tian pointed to a bulletin board-like structure not far ahead.
Ye Feng looked up and saw his own image clearly displayed there. “No way… It’s been thousands of years—how is that bounty still there?”
“Thousands of years isn’t long here. Look at that faded advertisement over there—it was posted over a million years ago…” Long Tian pointed to an arrest warrant in the corner. “And have you noticed that your warrant is the largest and offers the most reward of all? Over the years, people have come and gone here. Even if they didn’t deliberately remember, your face has long been etched in their minds.”
“A reward of one million star crystals for those who capture you, with those who provide clues receiving between 100 and 10,000 star crystals depending on the accuracy of their information…” Ye Feng read the fine print below the warrant and muttered, “Just one million star crystals?”
“That’s already quite a lot. Even your peak spiritual treasure, which is palace-level, was only auctioned for over ten million,” Long Tian said with a smile.
“Could there really be idiots brave enough to try?” Ye Feng scanned the surroundings. Those with strange looks lowered their heads, except for a thug-like man who walked toward him, followed by a group of subordinates—about thirty or forty of them.
Ye Feng and the others had concealed their auras completely. Those weaker individuals couldn’t sense the terrifying presence of Luo Yan and the others, so they boldly blocked Ye Feng’s group’s path.
“Are you Ye Feng?” asked the leader, a thug-like youth, pointing at Ye Feng.
“And if I am?” Ye Feng had no interest in dealing with this guy. He was only at the Star Sea level, while his subordinates were even weaker, mostly at the Star level, with only two reaching the Nebula level.
“Come over obediently so we can tie you up, and we won’t hurt those guys,” the thug stared greedily at the storage rings in Ye Feng and the others’ hands, his greed impossible to conceal.
“I’ll take care of them!” Shi Tou stepped forward and turned to Ye Feng for his approval.
Xiao Bei also wanted to join in the chaos but was stopped by Xiao Yu, who said, “One person is enough. Try next time!”
Ye Feng nodded at Shi Tou, who then charged into the crowd like a reborn warrior. In just a few moments, all thirty-eight people were on the ground.
“Hand over all the storage rings!” Shi Tou roared, startling Ye Feng and the others. The onlookers were even more speechless.
The reason they didn’t kill these people was because they were inside Longquan City, where killing was prohibited. In fact, fighting itself was not allowed, but such things were impossible to control.
Before Shi Tou could collect all the rings, the city guards arrived and surrounded Ye Feng and the others.
“Put down your weapons and come with us!” a man who seemed to be the leader said to Shi Tou.
“Where to?” Shi Tou asked seriously, showing no respect for the city guards, as the leader was only at the mid-stage Star Domain level, and his men were at the Sea of Stars level. In Shi Tou’s eyes, only the strong mattered. He had already been able to fight against mid-stage Star Domain warriors in the Death Forest.
“You’ve violated the rule against fighting in the city. You must come with us to the judgment hall. After the trial, you’ll face appropriate punishment!” the captain said coldly.
“They provoked us first; we were just defending ourselves,” Ye Feng said, frowning slightly. Normally, the city guards rarely interfered in such fights.
“Are you Ye Feng?” the leader of the city guards stared at Ye Feng, his eyes gleaming. “You’ll come with us too.”
Ye Feng immediately understood what was going on—so the city guards were after him as well.
“Xiao Bei, Shi Tou, kill all the city guards and those thugs!” Ye Feng’s eyes flashed with intensity, and his calm voice was heard clearly by everyone present, including the onlookers and the city guards.
Hearing this, everyone was shocked—they never expected Ye Feng to dare act like this even inside the city.
Upon receiving the order, the two immediately began a bloody massacre.
In just the time it takes for two breaths, everyone except the leader of the city guards perished—both the city guards and those hooligans. The onlookers were also shocked; some because Ye Feng and his group had the courage to act, and others in awe of the strong cultivation levels of Xiao Bei and Shi Tou. Xiao Bei alone fought a fierce battle with the city guard leader, making people marvel at how many capable people Ye Feng had under his command. The city guard leader had initially planned to flee but was chased back by Shi Tou, who rushed into the battle, completely breaking his will to fight. He was soon slain by Xiao Bei on the spot. “Let’s go, we’ll enter the auction hall,” Ye Feng said, acting as if nothing had happened, and led everyone away with ease. Not a single corpse was left behind; all were thrown into storage rings by Shi Tou and Xiao Bei. They had fully adopted Ye Feng’s style. When Ye Feng’s group entered the auction hall, a man with red skin had just finished consigning an item for auction, accompanied by several strong servants. As he passed by Ye Feng, a murderous intent flashed in the man’s eyes the moment he saw Ye Feng. Though that intent vanished quickly, Ye Feng was sure the man wanted to kill him. “That red-skinned guy is strong—he’s at the peak of the Pseudo-Empty level,” Luo Yan warned. “He wants to kill me?!” Ye Feng frowned slightly. Though he wasn’t afraid, he had to admit that a Pseudo-Empty level warrior was indeed a formidable threat. “I felt it too; that murderous intent appeared for just a moment…” Long Tian nodded as well. Outside the auction hall, Xiu Luo narrowed his eyes slightly. “Ye Feng, I didn’t expect you to come right to me this time!”
