Chapter 537: Visitors from the Abyss

Ye Feng and Bai Yiyi had been back in Cent City for some time, unaware that another incident had occurred on the eastern coast of the Endless Abyssal Sea.
“This is that strange secret realm?” Two men and a woman appeared at the entrance of the realm. The tall woman stared at the black vortex.
“Yes, Lady Zoya,” the two men said respectfully.
“This secret realm has appeared in this small world several times. But with the current strength of the people here, they can at most reach the third layer,” the tall, thin man said, glancing at the vortex with caution. “According to previous investigations, there are only six layers here. More details are unclear, but none of those who investigated returned alive.”
“Where did you get this information?” Lady Zoya seemed skeptical.
“I bought it from the black market. The source is unknown, and its authenticity is uncertain. But this mission is rated S-level—there’s no way it can be completed easily,” the tall man said, implying that Lady Zoya still didn’t understand the difficulty of S-level missions.
“And we haven’t even completed an A-level mission yet…” the shorter man added quietly.
“A-level missions can only be completed by teams of saints. As for S-level missions, they’re usually taken on by supreme saints. But you, Lady Zoya, have just reached the level of a Holy Emperor…” the tall man continued to undermine her.
“Feinan, what’s wrong with being a Holy Emperor?” she asked coldly.
“Nothing. It’s just that this mission was originally B-level. Many tried to take it, but none returned. It then became A-level. Even after that, many tried it and still didn’t return. Only later did it become S-level. Before us, at least five supreme saints took on this mission, but there was no word from them… Later, although it was S-level, there were no restrictions on the strength required to take it…” Feinan tried to change the subject.
“You two cowards! If you won’t go, I’ll go by myself…” Ignoring them, Zoya stepped straight into the vortex.
With no choice, the two men shook their heads and followed, smiling bitterly.
With her soul power, she took in the basic situation of the realm. “The people in this small world are quite strong.”

“Well, with such a high level of spiritual energy, there are still people who can reach the Saint Spirit realm.” The two men, one tall and one short, nodded as well; clearly, they had also conducted a scan using their spiritual powers.
“Let’s go deeper. I can roughly sense what’s on the fifth floor, but beyond that, I can’t detect anything.” Zoya looked relieved—she hadn’t sensed any existence capable of threatening her.
“We can sense the sixth floor, but it seems strange…” Feinan’s expression was grim. The short man also had a peculiar look on his face.
“What’s strange?” Zoya intended to act indifferent but couldn’t help but worry and asked after a moment’s hesitation.
“We can’t detect anything at all…” Feinan’s expression didn’t seem fake. Zoya knew exactly what he looked like when lying, and it definitely wasn’t like this.
“Boro, what about you? Can you sense anything?” Zoya turned to the short man.
“I’m the same—nothing at all. It feels like the entire sixth floor is empty, with nothing there…” Boro also looked troubled.
After hesitating for a while, Zoya bit her lip. After a long pause, she said to the two, “Let’s record the conditions of each floor using memory crystals, up to the sixth floor. Once we’re done, we’ll leave this damned place immediately.”
Feinan and Boro exchanged a wry glance. This young lady was still trying to act strong, but the two of them couldn’t say much.
The three of them descended to the fifth floor. Here, the two men’s scans of the sixth floor became clearer, and they grew increasingly uneasy.
Zoya stood at the crack and looked down, hoping to see something from above, but all she saw was thick mist—nothing at all.
“How about going back? We’ve already reached the fifth floor…” Feinan asked tentatively.
“I refuse!” Zoya shook her head, glared at the two of them fiercely, and then jumped down.
“Sigh…” Feinan shook his head helplessly and jumped down along with Boro.
“There’s really nothing here…” Zoya stared blankly at the empty surroundings.
“There’s a strong necrotic aura…” Boro, however, detected something else.
“Hmm, there are many graves over there,” Feinan said, noticing the unusual mounds on the ground. “But they all seem empty…”
“There’s a corpse over there…” Zoya pointed in another direction but didn’t dare approach any further.

Two men carefully approached and turned over the body lying on the ground, only to find it was an emaciated old man.
“This body died not long ago, and there was a fierce battle before his death…” Feinan stepped back a few steps before looking around. “Look at the ground around here—it’s cracked like this.”
As he spoke, he pressed a finger against the ground and applied slight force, but nothing happened. He was slightly surprised and tried again with more force, still with no change. Truly astonished now, he exerted all his strength, yet not a single crack appeared on the ground. Finally, he stood up. “The stability of this space is terrifying. Even with all my strength, I couldn’t create a single crack in this ground. But look at the size and depth of these cracks… It’s clearly just the aftermath of a battle.”
Zhuo Ya knelt down to try as well and was shocked.
“What kind of powerful being could have done this?” she couldn’t help asking.
“Although this old man is emaciated, his physique suggests that only a being at the level of a Supreme Saint could possess such strength,” Feinan continued examining the old man’s body.
Meanwhile, Boruo had finished checking the graves. “There isn’t a single body left in these graves.”
“Obviously, some powerful being arrived here before us and cleaned it out.”
“Is really nothing left here?” Zhuo Ya was unwilling to give up.
“Record the situation here using a memory crystal, then take this body back. That will complete our mission.”
“I’ll do it. I’ll take responsibility for this mission myself,” Zhuo Ya said, fearing someone else would claim the credit. Without caring about getting dirty, she grabbed the emaciated old man’s body and threw it into her storage ring. No one noticed a thin black thread climbing up Zhuo Ya’s wrist before disappearing in the blink of an eye…
