Chapter 469: First Arrival in Cent City

“Is this Cent City?” Ye Feng frowned as he stepped out of the teleportation array.
It had only taken Ye Feng and his group five days to travel from Cana City to here. Even in the main city of Titan, they didn’t stay long—just took a quick look around the market and a few famous attractions before leaving. The three city lords of Titan welcomed them warmly, but that enthusiasm only made Ye Feng and the others want to leave even sooner.
Afterward, they teleported from Titan City to the nearest major city to Cent City—Dadu City. Cent used to be one of Dadu City’s main subordinate cities, but it had since declined to a second-tier city. To prevent accidents, Dadu City destroyed the teleportation array leading to Cent, even though it was only one-way. The only way to enter Cent City was through a third-tier small town located between Dadu and Cent City. Without a teleportation array, Ye Feng and the others spent a lot of time on this journey. After arriving at that small town, they didn’t pause at all and directly teleported to Cent City.
“The situation here is even worse than that third-tier town we just passed through, right?” Pearl couldn’t help but say, seeing the ragged-clothed, listless people on the streets.
“It’s completely a refugee camp,” Long Tian nodded in agreement.
Ye Feng turned to look at the teleportation array behind them. “This is the only usable teleportation array, and it’s also one-way—only in, no out. If these people want to leave, they can only go through the city gates, but outside the gates, there are magical beasts everywhere.”
“We encountered quite a few magical beasts on our way from Dadu City to that third-tier town, including some at the level of Emperor Gods. The average strength of the locals here is only at the level of True Gods; they have no chance of reaching the next city alive.” Long Tian quickly assessed the strength of these people.
“May I ask, are you the newly appointed city lord?” An old man, leaning on a cane and hunched over, stepped forward from the crowd.
“How do you know that?” Ye Feng was curious. Logically, the news of his appointment hadn’t been announced by him, so it shouldn’t have spread so quickly among the people.
“Heh, although Cent City is a very closed city, that doesn’t mean information is also sealed off. We have our own ways of obtaining information.” The old man seemed unwilling to continue discussing this topic. “We’ve heard about your situation—two warriors with a hundred consecutive victories. One of them is at the mid-stage of Ancestor God level, the other at the peak of Emperor God level, and he’s also skilled in array magic…”

Ye Feng frowned slightly. Although this information wasn’t a secret, its rapid spread here didn’t seem like a good sign.
“We’ve also heard that Lord Long Tian’s mastery of formations is unparalleled. The large formations he sets up can easily withstand attacks from god-tier magical beasts, and blocking a fifth-level beast horde is no problem either…” Hearing these false rumors, Long Tian also frowned.
“Elder, where did you get this information?” Long Tian couldn’t help but ask.
“Well, that can’t be revealed. Though we’re truly grateful for your arrival; perhaps you can indeed restore this city to its former state.” The elder remained composed.
“Alright, Elder. Then at least you can tell us where the city lord’s residence is, right?” Ye Feng pulled back Long Tian, who wanted to say more, and asked a different question.
“The city lord’s residence is in the southeast, the one with the largest area, whose roof has been half torn off.” The elder pointed southeast.
Ye Feng led everyone there at full speed.
“Rumors can kill people. Why didn’t you let me explain earlier?” Long Tian was still upset about what had happened.
“Your explanation would only demoralize them,” Ye Feng shook his head. “It’s useless to keep asking; they won’t easily reveal the source of the information.”
“I wanted to ask because, on the way here, although others heard about our 100 consecutive victories, they didn’t know the details. They didn’t know I knew formations, nor did they know we’d come here to be city lords. Why do the people here know everything? Logically, information should spread more slowly here. But in reality, the people here know more details than those in the capital city. These details should only be known by city lords and elders.” Long Tian seemed angry.
“It’s simple. Someone leaked the information and deliberately exaggerated our strength,” Ye Feng concluded.
“Why would someone do that? This city is unclaimed anyway. They should be happy to have us help defend it.” Long Tian couldn’t figure it out.
“I don’t know… It’s possible someone here knows someone from Kanah City, happened to see our battles, attended that banquet, knew the whole story, and exaggerated it when telling the people here.” Ye Feng downplayed the topic.
Although Sent City had been downgraded to a second-tier city, its size was still that of a first-tier city. Its city walls were in terrible condition, with extensive damage.

It took almost as long as a cup of tea for Ye Feng and his group to fly to the city lord’s mansion, which showed just how large a first-tier city was.
“The largest footprint, and there’s a big hole in the roof…” Ye Feng looked at the mansion before him and immediately realized it must be the city lord’s mansion.
To his surprise, the entrance was surrounded by people, with only a few guards blocking the way. Those guards all had the cultivation level of Heavenly Deities.
The people below naturally also saw Ye Feng and the others flying in the sky.
“Who are you? This is the city lord’s mansion—flying is prohibited!” one of the guards shouted at Ye Feng and the others.
Ye Feng led everyone to land slowly. With a flick of his hand, the city lord’s token appeared in his palm. “Take me in!”
“City lord!” The guards bowed slightly to Ye Feng, then one of them opened the city lord’s gates, and Ye Feng, Long Tian, and the others entered one after another.
“What’s going on at the entrance?” After entering the hall, Ye Feng found a stool to sit on and looked up at the sky, where most of the roof had been torn off.
“They all know the lord has taken office, so they’re waiting here,” the guard replied respectfully.
Ye Feng guessed that these guards must have heard the story of him and the others, which explained their respect.
“Now that I’m here, what do they want?” Ye Feng asked further.
“They’ve come voluntarily to offer their support to restore this city to its former glory. They also have great confidence in the two city lords,” the guard said, seemingly full of enthusiasm.
“Alright, today is our first day in office. Let’s greet everyone,” Ye Feng said with a smile.
“But the sound transmission devices in the city lord’s mansion are damaged…” the guard stammered.
“It doesn’t matter; we can all hear each other,” Ye Feng said before leaping up and landing on the roof.
His appearance immediately attracted many people’s attention.
“Hello everyone. My name is Dao Feng. Starting today, I am the city lord of Cent City.” Ye Feng’s voice wasn’t loud, but it resonated clearly in every corner of the city. His move truly intimidated many people. “Today, you can rest in peace. Starting tomorrow, everyone should participate in rebuilding Cent City. I promise to protect this city and prevent it from being invaded again! Moreover, I’ll not only restore its glory but also turn it into the largest trading center in the Divine Realm, so that everyone in the Divine Realm will know of Cent City!”
The entire city immediately erupted in excitement, with cheers filling the air.
But some people dismissed it as worthless.

“Idiot, this is the place in the entire divine realm where the most magical beasts gather. It’s not unusual to see a level 5 beast horde. A level 5 horde is enough to cause damage to the main city, let alone a level 2 city like ours now.”
“You really think winning against Thor is something amazing? There are many magical beasts stronger than Thor…”
“If formations really work, we could just have the diviner set up a few formations every time a horde comes. Why go through all that trouble?”
…
Despite some opposition, the morale of the city’s residents still increased to some extent.
Some even started to tidy up their homes.
Outside the city, at the bottom of a certain canyon, a man with powerful aura sat on a giant rock. Below him, a huge white-furred giant ape knelt on the ground, emitting strange cries.
“I get it. You can go now.” The man on the rock raised his head and looked in the direction of Cent City. Though there were rock walls in the way, his gaze seemed to pierce through them, allowing him to see the city lit up brightly. “An emperor god level of cultivation, an ancestor god level of strength… quite interesting!”
…
Late at night, inside the city lord’s mansion.
“If a beast horde arrives, our strength won’t be of any help. So, let’s go to the Refining Realm to train.” Pearl was telling the truth. Aside from Long Tian, Ye Feng, Xiao Yu, and Xiao Bei, the highest-level cultivator here was only at the level of a heaven god. If faced with a beast horde, they wouldn’t even have the ability to protect themselves.
“Alright, Long Brother and I will stay here. The rest can go to the Purgatory,” Ye Feng nodded.
“I’m not going,” Xiao Yu was the first to refuse.
“I’m not going either!” Xiao Bei also refused.
“Your strength isn’t weak, but against an ancestor god-level warrior, even if you return to your original form, you won’t be a match,” Ye Feng still wanted Xiao Yu and Xiao Bei to continue improving their cultivation.
“This place is also an excellent training ground for us. We can help eliminate the magical beasts in the vicinity,” Xiao Yu was quite firm in his stance.
“We hope to be able to help, rather than just be a burden,” Xiao Bei added.
“Let them stay. As long as they don’t encounter ancestor god-level magical beasts, they’ll be safe,” Long Tian also spoke in support of the two kids.
“Alright, but if danger arises, don’t be stubborn. Contact me as quickly as possible,” Ye Feng agreed since the two kids were determined.
