Chapter 411: The Secret Realm Closed
Leaving the trading space, Ye Feng appeared on the trading platform.
“Blade!” A familiar female voice came from not far away. Ye Feng raised his head and looked over—it was the Third Demon Emperor—Red Lotus.
“The Third…” Ye Feng was about to speak habitually but changed his mind and said, “Red Lotus, it’s you!”
“With your strength, you must have exchanged for quite a few good things, right?” Red Lotus said with a smile, holding the little white dog in her arms.
“I only got some divine crystals and a few divine artifacts,” Ye Feng replied with a laugh, though his gaze fell on the little white dog in Red Lotus’s arms. Its aura seemed much stronger than it had been ten years ago.
“You noticed changes in Little White?” Seeing Ye Feng staring at the dog, Red Lotus immediately knew he had noticed the changes. She didn’t hide anything.
“Yeah, its aura has become much stronger!” Ye Feng nodded. After ten years of fighting against her, he knew well what that level of aura meant—it was the early stage of a Heavenly God.
“That’s right. Little White stole many crystal cores. Otherwise, I would have even more cores,” Red Lotus said, opening the dog’s mouth as if trying to pull out the cores. The little white dog wore an utterly innocent expression, very much like a human.
“With Little White’s help, you must have obtained quite a few cores, right?” Ye Feng asked.
“Mm, I can exchange them for over a million points. If I had more time, I could get even more,” Red Lotus nodded. She wasn’t very wary of Ye Feng. “What about you?”
“Me? Only a little over two million!” Ye Feng deliberately omitted the word “hundred million.”
“That’s still amazing!” Red Lotus was surprised too. “You’re alone, while I have Little White to help me. Without him, I probably couldn’t exchange even a hundred points.”
Ye Feng simply smiled faintly.
“By the way, do you still remember the bet we made before?” Red Lotus wore a sly smile.
“Oh, that…” Only after she reminded him did Ye Feng recall it. He nodded immediately. “I remember!”
“What do you want me to do for you?” Ye Feng asked with a smile.
“Well… I haven’t decided yet…” Red Lotus hesitated for a moment before answering, “How about I tell you once I’ve thought it through?”
“Sure,” Ye Feng nodded. It seemed Red Lotus hadn’t made that bet with any ulterior motive but simply on a whim.
“I’m going in to exchange things too. Today is the last day!” After saying that, Red Lotus took a few steps forward and disappeared, having been teleported to the exchange space.
At that moment, Ye Feng once again sensed a murderous intent. He turned his head—it was the same young man in black from before. Seeing that Ye Feng was looking at him, he pretended to look away naturally. Ye Feng frowned slightly. He knew that this guy had wanted to kill him ten years ago, but he had been busy dealing with various crises at first and later focused on building his own forces and obtaining crystal cores, so he put this matter aside. Now, feeling that familiar gaze and seeing this guy again, he remembered the incident. However, Ye Feng didn’t take him seriously; he was merely curious why this guy was targeting him so much. “Blade Edge!” Just as Ye Feng’s thoughts were wandering, another voice awakened him. Ye Feng turned to look—it was Fang Zhuo. “Fang Zhuo?” Ye Feng still had a very strong impression of this unlucky guy. “Haha, ever since I got your crystal core that day, my luck was incredible all day long,” Fang Zhuo said excitedly. “While walking in the forest, I encountered three groups of late-stage Imperial God-level magical beasts in battles, and after fighting to the point of mutual exhaustion, I easily obtained nearly 200 late-stage Imperial God crystal cores, enough to exchange for nearly 2 million points.” “There’s such a thing?” Ye Feng was also speechless; even he hadn’t encountered such good fortune. “I never thought something like this would happen to me,” Fang Zhuo said, patting Ye Feng’s shoulder. “You’re really my lucky star! If you need any help in the future, just come to me!” “I will,” Ye Feng replied with a smile, not taking his words seriously. After all, he was just a late-stage Heavenly God warrior, while even an ordinary insectoid warrior in the third layer of the Refining Realm was stronger than him. “I’m going in to exchange for treasures first!” Seeing Hong Lian come out, Fang Zhuo entered the exchange space. “What did you exchange for?” Ye Feng asked Hong Lian. “I didn’t exchange anything. I originally thought there might be something good in there…” Before he could finish, Hong Lian suddenly realized she had said too much and quickly covered her mouth. “I mean, there’s nothing I want…” Ye Feng pretended not to notice, but he was somewhat surprised by Hong Lian’s identity. Her words clearly meant that she disdained everything in that place. “Besides, Xiaobai also likes crystal cores. Just give them all to her.” Hong Lian seemed completely unbothered by not getting anything in return.
“Generally, it takes a long time for a magic beast to consume a magic core of a higher rank than its own. The cores you have here should be enough to feed it for a long time,” Ye Feng said with a smile.
“Not at all. Xiaobai eats a lot—she can consume many at once!” Hong Lian immediately shook her head. “I think she’ll finish all the cores here in less than a month.”
Ye Feng fell silent again. He had asked that question earlier just out of speculation that Xiaobai might be able to devour many magic cores, but now it had been confirmed.
Actually, once when he was bored, Ye Feng held a magic core in his hand and suddenly thought of using black energy to consume it. Upon trying, he found it to be feasible—this was why he had previously asked that god-level magic beast for peak Emperor God-level magic cores and also asked the short man to take the cores away.
Magic cores are different from divine crystals. They are extremely hard; although not as strong as divine essences, they are very close, making it extremely difficult to extract the energy inside. Secondly, the energy in magic cores is far more violent than that in divine crystals. If one’s cultivation isn’t strong enough to control such violence, it could lead to death from internal explosion. Thirdly, the energy in most magic cores carries attributes, while the energy in divine crystals has no attributes. These are the three main reasons why few people use magic cores for cultivation.
But for Ye Feng, none of these were problems. His devouring energy could penetrate even divine essences, let alone magic cores. Moreover, even the most violent energy became as gentle as a lamb once it entered his devouring core, allowing it to be directly transferred into other cores. As for attributes, they posed no issue either—his devouring core could erase those attributes and reshape them into any desired kind.
These three reasons also meant that those magic beasts needed a long time to digest a core from another beast. A beast that could digest many magic cores at once must possess a devouring ability similar to his own. From this, Xiaobai’s rank was much higher than what Ye Feng had guessed earlier. At the same time, Ye Feng became even more curious about Hong Lian’s background.
However, since Hong Lian wasn’t willing to talk about it, Ye Feng didn’t press her. He was merely curious, and it wasn’t something he absolutely had to know.
“Where do you plan to go after leaving?” Ye Feng changed the subject on his own.
“I don’t know.” Hearing this question, Honglian froze for a moment before lowering her head and gently stroking Xiaobai’s head.
“What about you?” After a while, she raised her head and asked Ye Feng.
“First, I’ll find a place for my friends in the Demon Realm to stay, then I’ll check out a few other secret realms. If possible, I’ll also visit the Immortal Realm and the Fiend Realm.” Ye Feng had already planned his itinerary thoroughly.
“Then I’ll just follow you. Anyway, I have nowhere else to go.” Honglian stared at Ye Feng with big eyes, full of anticipation.
After hesitating for a moment, Ye Feng finally nodded. “Okay.”
The secret realms closed at midnight. Although many people came to exchange items that day, Ye Feng noticed that only half as many people remained as when they arrived ten years ago.
Most people chose to sit down and wait patiently for the secret realms to close so they could be transported out.
It was unclear how much time had passed when Ye Feng, who was resting with his eyes closed, sensed a slight spatial fluctuation. He opened his eyes— the forest that had been nearby was gone; he and the others had been transported out…
“Ten years… I’m finally out…” Ye Feng murmured softly…
