Chapter 277: The Third Realm – The Heavenly Realm Unlocked
Inside his dantian, a white bead the size of a grain of rice replaced the yuanying and floated there.
With just one glance, Ye Feng realized that this bead was different from a jindan.
The surface of a jindan was smooth and round, but this bead was not—it had a surface resembling many tiny scales, appearing in a crystalline state. Moreover, its strength was far greater than that of a jindan, and the energy it contained was also much more powerful.
A faint layer of white mist swirled around the surface of the white crystal, floating intermittently. When Ye Feng projected his mental energy inward, he discovered that the mist was a special type of energy, completely different from the spiritual energy in the cultivation world. Yet he also knew clearly that it wasn’t the immortal energy of the heavenly realm, as it was entirely different from the energy contained in immortal artifacts. Furthermore, the level of this energy was no less than that of the heavenly realm’s immortal energy.
“No wonder even the spiritual energy at the peak of the tribulation stage can be contained within such a small thing—it turns out to be a newly evolved form of energy,” Ye Feng realized suddenly.
After further exploration, Ye Feng roughly understood the changes that had taken place within him. He gradually calmed his mind, sat in meditation in mid-air, and began to use the energy absorption method from the “Wu Dian.”
The moment his dantian received the command to absorb energy, it began to whirl like a vortex, frantically absorbing various energies from its surroundings.
As dense and intense energies flowed into his body, Ye Feng was slightly astonished. “Strange, why is the spiritual energy in this space so strong? It’s almost as effective as directly absorbing immortal crystals…”
Unaware of this, in a grand hall, a huge cauldron floated in the air, its surface shimmering with golden light. At its bottom, blue flames burned, as if something was being refined inside. Streams of white, mist-like gas emerged from the cauldron, passing through the ceiling and swirling above it, giving the impression of something being nurtured.
It was unclear how much time had passed when Ye Feng felt a deep stirring deep within his soul. He slowly awakened from his deep meditation. Upon waking, he found that everything seemed a bit different.
“It seems I’ve become much stronger. I don’t know how long I practiced this time…” Ye Feng said as he projected his mental energy into his dantian to check for changes.
Inside his dantian, the original white crystal had completely turned golden yellow, though it seemed smaller now, about the size of a sesame seed.
“It turned golden. Could it be that my cultivation level has now reached that of an immortal in the heavens?” Ye Feng’s eyes lit up suddenly.
At that moment, a voice came to his mind: “The Third Realm, the Heavenly Realm, has been activated!”
“Do you want to activate the Heavenly Realm?” A dialog box appeared before Ye Feng’s eyes.
“Yes!” Ye Feng nodded eagerly, filled with excitement. He was already quite certain that his cultivation level had reached at least the level of an immortal; otherwise, the Void Realm would not have granted him new privileges.
Just then, a magnificent gate appeared before Ye Feng. White light, like mist, swirled around it, moving constantly. The moment Ye Feng reached out to touch the gate, several more dialog boxes appeared.
“Successfully activated the Third Realm—the Heavenly Realm! Ultimate rewards obtained!”
“One time use of the right to modify Void Realm rules (with usage restrictions)”
“One time use of ultimate protection (passively triggered)”
“One time use of ultimate pardon!”
“Three times use of ultimate repair rights!”
“Three times use of ultimate summoning rights!”
“A reward of one million points for the third-tier realm value!”
Ye Feng was overjoyed at the sudden appearance of these dialog boxes. The abundance of ultimate privileges filled him with excitement.
He pushed the gate open, and what he saw left him stunned.
“Surprised?” A young man around Ye Feng’s age suddenly appeared before him.
Ye Feng quickly regained his composure. “Are you the guardian of this realm?”
“My name is Yu Huang,” the man replied with a slight nod.
“I’m Ye Feng!” Ye Feng responded politely.
“Hmm, I know your name is Ye Feng!” Yu Huang nodded. “This area is the Third Realm. It’s not quite what you imagined, is it?”
“Completely different!” Ye Feng shook his head and smiled.
“Let me explain. The heavens are also divided into several major regions, including the Immortal Realm, the Demon Realm, the Fiend Realm. In fact, there’s also the Buddha Realm and part of the Nether Realm outside the heavenly continent, along with the subordinate spaces of Hell and Heaven.”
“So, here we have seven floating continent-like regions.”
“They represent the Immortal Realm, the Demon Realm, the Fiend Realm, the Buddha Realm, the Nether Realm, and a combined version of the two subordinate spaces—six regions in total. There’s also one more region that serves as a collection place for items from other hidden areas in the heavens, including ancient immortals and various scattered forces like the witch tribes of the heavens.”
“Actually, this setting is modeled after the Heavenly Realm, as that realm also has many floating continents,” explained Yu Huang.
“Oh, I see. I roughly understand now!” Ye Feng nodded and glanced at the seven island-like areas floating in the air, separated from the rest.
“Ye Feng, may I ask you something? Is it okay?” Yu Huang sized up Ye Feng, a hint of confusion on his face.
“What is it?” Ye Feng asked, puzzled.
“Have you become a Void Walker?” Yu Huang asked, looking at him expectantly.
“How do you know?” Ye Feng was curious. If his cultivated Void Walker status could be easily recognized, that wouldn’t be good for him.
“Oh, don’t worry about that. I know because I’ve encountered many Void Walkers before and am familiar with their aura. You don’t have to worry about being recognized in the Heavenly Realm,” Yu Huang quickly explained. “But before I came here, I talked to Boy and Ed, and they never mentioned this! Could it be you encountered some opportunity after Ed left?”
“Mm, I did encounter an opportunity some time ago and then became a Void Walker. I just switched my cultivation path recently,” Ye Feng nodded. He felt there was no need to hide anything about being a Void Domain Guardian.
“I see!” Yu Huang nodded thoughtfully.
“What’s wrong? Is there a problem?” Ye Feng couldn’t help asking.
“If you’re a Void Walker, the rewards from unlocking the third domain this time will definitely be extremely generous,” Yu Huang said with a smile. “In fact, to some extent, the Void Domain favors people with special constitutions. Although the rewards are theoretically random, those favored receive higher-quality rewards.”
“So, it’s not completely fair?” Ye Feng frowned.
“No, it’s still a form of fairness. The more special one’s constitution, the greater their achievements, and the more likely they are to eventually control the Void Domain. The Void Domain makes decisions based on its own judgment, offering better treatment to such people, but this treatment is still within certain limits—it can’t do as it pleases. It simply provides special constitutions with more convenience, greater privileges, and most importantly, a stronger protection mechanism.”
“I see. The emergence of that Ultimate Protection Right must be the protection mechanism you mentioned. From what you say, the Ultimate Summoning Right must have appeared as well for my safety… even though I’ve used it before.” Only then did Ye Feng understand why so many privileges came with gaining access to the Third Domain this time.
“The Ultimate Protection Right has appeared too?” Yu Huang was also surprised. “That’s a privilege granted only after gaining great trust from the Virtual Realm! It’s unlikely to appear before the Fifth Domain is unlocked. But it’s only the Third Domain now…”
“The passive activation of the Ultimate Protection Right probably means it triggers automatically when one’s life is in danger!” Ye Feng thought the literal meaning should be that.
“Yeah, that’s right! This privilege is activated passively; it only triggers when the Virtual Realm determines you’re about to perish.” Yu Huang nodded.
“I know about the other privileges. There’s also the Right to Modify Virtual Realm Rules, but I really don’t understand what that means…” Taking the chance that someone was around to ask, Ye Feng raised this question. “Could it mean literally modifying the rules of the Virtual Realm?”
“You’ve obtained the Right to Modify Virtual Realm Rules?!” If Yu Huang’s expression earlier was one of surprise, it was now one of shock and astonishment.
“That’s correct. But there are usage restrictions written on it.” Ye Feng nodded.
“That doesn’t matter. All rights to modify rules have usage restrictions. It’s just that since your strength isn’t strong yet, the restrictions might be a bit more.” Yu Huang finally regained his composure.
“The Right to Modify Virtual Realm Rules is the highest-ranking privilege among the non-permanent privileges of the Virtual Realm, without exception.” Yu Huang explained. “Having such a privilege means absolute trust from the Virtual Realm.”
“This privilege means you have the right to modify the rules of the Virtual Realm. Of course, such modifications must go through strict review by the Virtual Realm, and whether they’re approved depends on their decision. Also, regardless of whether the modification succeeds or not, as long as an application is made, this privilege will be depleted. This is a rule put in place to prevent the grantors of the Virtual Realm from using this privilege indefinitely.”
“It sounds like a useless privilege, with the Virtual Realm having complete control over whether to agree or not.” Ye Feng shook his head helplessly.
“In fact, the Virtual Realm doesn’t reject your suggestions at will. If it believes your changes are beneficial for its future development, there’s a higher chance they’ll be approved. If it thinks your changes are meaningless or could cause harm, it won’t approve them,” added Yu Huang.
“It still doesn’t sound very promising,” Ye Feng said helplessly, spreading his hands. “I just activated the third realm. Let me first see what I can use right now!”
