Chapter 204: This Path Was Made by Me, This Tree Was Planted by Me…
The Twelfth Elder of the Alchemy Sect was the only woman among the twelve powerful elders of the sect. It was hard to imagine that a delicate woman would join such a male-dominated sect as the Alchemy Sect.
What was even more astonishing was that the Twelfth Elder wasn’t the ugly, muscular female version of Schwarzenegger as people might have imagined—she was actually a true beauty. She was also admired by many disciples of the Alchemy Sect.
Though she held a high position as an elder, she was different from most of them—she wasn’t a scattered immortal but a powerful late-stage Mahayana practitioner who had successfully passed through the heavenly calamity.
With her strength, she could easily have served as the Eighth Elder, but she voluntarily chose to accept just the title of elder, regardless of rank.
Jiang Yuansong and Lin Peng had met this Twelfth Elder only a few times. It seemed she spent most of her time in the elder-exclusive alchemy room working on crafts. Moreover, she rarely spoke to others in her daily life.
At the thought of the upcoming visit from the Twelfth Elder, both Lin Peng and Jiang Yuansong felt excited.
They had speculated about various possibilities—who the elder might be and what kind of personality she had—but they never expected it to be the Twelfth Elder.
“I heard the Twelfth Elder likes paintings. I’ll go buy a few and hang them up! I need to pick them out myself!” Lin Peng said before turning to head out of the hall.
“Wait, Lin Peng! I’ll go too. I’ll pick a few as well, so we can see whose choice she prefers!” Jiang Yuansong followed him.
The communicator at Ye Feng’s waist rang again. Without looking, he knew it was Yue Ming.
“Mr. Blade, those two have left!”
“What? Who left?” Ye Feng asked, puzzled.
“Lin Peng and Jiang Yuansong—both of them! And they’re together!” Yue Ming reported. “It seems they didn’t have any plans to leave before; they must have decided on it last minute. We notified you as soon as we found out!”
“Where are they now?” A smile appeared on Ye Feng’s face.
“I don’t know exactly where they’re going, but they’re heading toward the market. They might be going to buy something.” Yue Ming still hadn’t figured out their purpose.
“I understand. I’ll head there right away,” Ye Feng said before putting on his detector.
“Be honest and don’t run around randomly. If you’re bored, put on these!” Ye Feng handed the patriarch’s father a pair of glasses identical to those of the two beasts. The programs inside were copied directly from their list. Ye Feng assumed that since the man had the mental capacity of a child, he would likely enjoy those animations as well.
After finishing all this, Ye Feng changed his clothes and face, then adjusted the detector before leaving with confidence—still without bringing the two beasts this time.
Following the detector’s guidance, Ye Feng quickly arrived at where the two men were.
They were searching for something in a shop that sold calligraphy and paintings, while Ye Feng patiently waited outside.
After a long while, the two finally came out of the shop. Ye Feng approached them and blocked their path.
“Who are you?” The two looked at Ye Feng warily. They hadn’t expected that, with their advanced cultivation levels and being in pairs, someone would dare to intercept them in public.
“A robber!” Ye Feng smirked at them, his hoarse voice coming from his throat. The voice matched his face, covered in long scars, giving off a fierce impression.
Shopkeepers and passersby around turned to look in their direction. Lin Peng and Jiang Yuansong had been around on Agri Planet for many years, and almost everyone knew them. They were both at an advanced cultivation stage, so their strength couldn’t be underestimated. Yet, almost no one recognized the man who had blocked their way. It was the first time anyone from the Alchemy Sect had been robbed in public, and the onlookers were eager to see how things would unfold.
Ye Feng didn’t care about being watched. He had changed his appearance, so no one could recognize him. He hadn’t intended to settle this confrontation in a busy street, but after leaving the Alchemy Sect, the two had headed straight down the noisy main road, with no less noticeable side streets available. Thus, Ye Feng had no choice but to intercept them there.
“Do you know who we are?” Seeing that the opponent was strong, Lin Peng tried to downplay the situation.
“I do! You’re Lin Peng, and he’s Jiang Yuansong!” Ye Feng pointed at them and laughed. “Two first-level protectors of the Alchemy Sect! Am I right?”
Lin Peng and Jiang Yuansong looked at Ye Feng even more warily. They hadn’t expected that he would dare attack them in public even after knowing their identities.
“Did you kill Wei Jie?” Jiang Yuansong looked at Ye Feng coldly, his expression grave.
“No, don’t casually lay such a charge on someone else!” Ye Feng shook his head. “I have professional ethics—I only rob, I don’t kill!”
“What do you want?” Jiang Yuansong knew this matter couldn’t be resolved easily and let out a long sigh.
“Guess!” The smile on Ye Feng’s face appeared somewhat ferocious to the two of them.
“Don’t forget, you’re in the later stage of the Tribulation phase, and we are too! You might not win this fight!” As soon as Lin Peng finished speaking, his figure flashed. But Jiang Yuansong didn’t move; instead, he stared intently at Ye Feng’s movements, searching for a flaw to deliver a fatal strike.
The moment Lin Peng reached Ye Feng, he found that Ye Feng was already gone. Realizing something was wrong, he caught a glimpse of a figure moving behind him out of the corner of his eye. Without hesitation, he swung his long sword. The sound of the blade cutting through the air showed its immense power.
Almost at the same time, Jiang Yuansong also saw Ye Feng appear beside Lin Peng. He pushed off forcefully, thrusting his long sword straight at Ye Feng’s back. This strike was completely different from Lin Peng’s—silent, like the attack of a venomous viper.
To those watching, both attacks seemed to be fatal blows.
Lin Peng’s counterattack carried the force of wind and thunder, powerful enough to sever a peer in two. While Jiang Yuansong’s sword strike seemed silent, those with keen eyes could see that his ambush was subtle, with all his energy concealed within the sword. This allowed him to strike unpreparedly. It was easy to imagine that once the sword reached its target, fierce spiritual energy would erupt from the blade, capable of destroying everything inside the opponent’s body in an instant.
The moment their attacks touched Ye Feng’s body, both men’s pupils contracted sharply.
Among the onlookers, those with sharp eyes also noticed the change in their expressions.
A loud explosion erupted among the three of them. No one could see what had happened; only the sound of metal clashing could be heard, followed by a violent explosion that sent the two figures flying.
The crowd saw that they were two protectors from the Alchemy Sect. They stared in shock at the spot where the collision had occurred. As the dust cleared, one figure stood tall, a look of disdain on his face.
“One move and both of them were sent flying backward—how on earth did he do that?” exclamations arose from the crowd.
“Despicable!” Lin Peng climbed out of the deep pit on the ground, gripping his long sword tightly with both hands, breathing heavily, and glancing at Ye Feng with hostility.
“Bastards!” Jiang Yuansong also got up from the pit; his clothes were torn open along his abdomen, and his forehead was drenched in cold sweat.
“You two aren’t my match—give up!” Ye Feng said coldly, staring at them.
The two certainly knew what had just happened—the figure they saw was just an illusion. Lin Peng’s slash had nearly killed Jiang Yuansong, while Jiang Yuansong’s attack had almost killed Lin Peng as well. Fortunately, they realized it in time, but it was too late to change their tactics. Their attacks collided, yet Ye Feng wasn’t harmed at all.
“Hmph, if you’ve got the guts, come after me!” Lin Peng and Jiang Yuansong exchanged a glance before shouting toward the sky.
“I’d like to see what tricks you two can pull next!” Ye Feng sneered.
The two fled into the distance, and Ye Feng chased after them. The onlookers, most of whom weren’t strong enough to keep up, dispersed.
Ye Feng followed the two into a dense forest. “You two aren’t completely stupid. You’re worried that those people will see you get robbed and lose face on Agri Planet. I can spare you some dignity.”
“Anyway, let’s fight first. It’s too early to draw such conclusions!” The two didn’t deny this fact but still refused to give in. They knew well that the seemingly real illusion Ye Feng had created already put him in an unbeatable position. Just one illusion had left them in chaos—imagine how many more he could create.
“Very well, then I’ll make you hand over what belongs to me willingly!” Ye Feng said with a sinister smile as he walked toward them.
Ten minutes passed quickly. After several loud explosions in the forest north of Klein City, everything finally settled down.
Unharmed, Ye Feng stood in front of Lin Peng and Jiang Yuansong, who were collapsed on the ground. He took the rings from their hands, removed their armor and weapons, took out the paintings and set them aside, and left them two sets of clothes.
Under the complicated looks of the two, Ye Feng warned, “Don’t try to find out who I am, and don’t cause me trouble. Just consider it a nightmare you had. If you come after me, I guarantee that next time, I’ll strip you naked in front of everyone on Agri Planet—leaving you not even with your underwear!”
The two watched Ye Feng leave with complex expressions on their faces…
