Chapter 180: My Name is Blade Edge
After Ye Feng and Pei Hong checked into a luxury hotel, they arranged a room specifically for Pei Hong to use for meditation, while Ye Feng went around investigating the power structures on Agri Planet. After two or three days of gathering information, Ye Feng finally identified his first target—Yue Ming.
Yue Ming was the leader of a gang on Agri Planet. Among the tens of thousands of gangs on the planet, his “Wolf Pack” wasn’t among the largest, but it was far better than those gangs formed by just two or three people. He also had a certain reputation and standing in this circle.
In front of a luxurious building, Ye Feng was stopped at the entrance. “I need to see Mr. Yue to discuss some business matters with him.”
“Mr. Yue isn’t someone you can just meet at will!” the security guard at the door said bluntly.
“Oh…” Ye Feng pretended to look disappointed. “It seems I’ll have to give this Immortal Grass, which was originally meant for Mr. Yue, to someone else!”
“What? Immortal Grass?” The security guard immediately called back Ye Feng, who was about to leave. He knew Yue Ming had been desperately searching for an Immortal Grass lately.
“That’s right. I heard Mr. Yue’s master is about to undergo a tribulation and needs it. So, I got it through connections from a friend!” Ye Feng nodded.
“Then wait a moment. I’ll check if he has time.” The security guard’s attitude changed instantly.
“Sister Hu, there’s a young man here who wants to see the boss. He says he has an Immortal Grass as a gift for the boss, and he also has business to discuss,” the security guard said into a device that resembled a phone.
“Let him come in!” The voice on the other end sounded casual.
Only then did Ye Feng follow the security guard to Yue Ming’s usual office.
When Yue Ming saw the security guard bring him in, he sat up straight in his chair. “Sit down. What’s your name, young man?”
“You can just call me Blade Edge!” Ye Feng didn’t reveal his real name.
“Oh, Brother Blade Edge. That’s not a real name—just a codename at most.”
Ye Feng took out an ancient-looking box and slowly opened it.
“This is… this is the Immortal Grass…” Despite being prepared, Yue Ming was still surprised by such a generous gift.
“That’s right. Mr. Yue truly knows how to appreciate fine things!” Ye Feng gave a thumbs up.
Yue Ming wasn’t an idiot either. Of course he knew that the other party was giving things away for no reason, clearly with ulterior motives. “This stuff does seem good. I just heard from the security guards as well—this time you came over because you want to cooperate with me, right? But what exactly do you mean by cooperation?”
“I won’t beat around the bush,” Ye Feng said, shrugging. “I have a batch of goods to sell. After thinking it over for days, I think you’re the most suitable partner.”
“I see. You don’t want to handle this yourself, so you turned to us?” Yue Ming immediately understood.
Ye Feng nodded. “You could say that.”
“What do you want to sell? How much is there? What commission can we get?” Yue Ming raised his questions.
“The goods I want to sell are rare medicinal materials similar to the Immortal Grass, along with some rare materials for refining weapons…” These items would eventually need to be sold through the other party, so Ye Feng saw no need to hide anything. “As for the quantity, it’s not decided yet! As for the commission you’ll get, let’s say five per thousand!”
“Rare herbs and refining materials… Sounds like a highly profitable industry. Five percent seems a bit low!” Yue Ming said casually.
“Five percent is already quite high. Even the auction house only offers that much as a commission for providing a sales platform,” Ye Feng said with a shake of his head and a smile.
“Ten percent. Five percent isn’t enough for us to make a profit!” Yue Ming put forward his own terms.
“That’s already the maximum the auction house will offer for the venue and services. You’re really bold to ask for more!” Ye Feng helplessly spread his hands. “Ten percent is impossible! If that really won’t work, then I’ll have to find someone else to cooperate with.”
“Eight percent… seven percent… six percent…” Yue Ming tried to secure more benefits while secretly observing Ye Feng’s reaction.
“Alright, I give up. You really don’t know how to negotiate. Five percent it is. It’s better than getting nothing!” Yue Ming slapped his head in frustration.
“I see no need to argue over such details with you. I only accept a five percent commission. Any other amount is just your wishful thinking,” Ye Feng said bluntly.
“What’s the deal structure?” Yue Ming asked Ye Feng.
“You should know the approximate market prices of these items. Pay me half of the deposit based on those prices first, and then I’ll give you the goods. Once you successfully sell them, just pay me the remaining half,” Ye Feng proposed a fairly traditional transaction method.
“I’ll come back tomorrow then. I’ll go back first today to see what might suit the needs of the people here…” Ye Feng said as he handed the box in his hands to Yue Ming.
Yue Ming carefully took the wooden box, which contained the Immortal Grass he had been searching for for many days. “How did you know I needed this?”
“Nothing special. I just had someone investigate you and accidentally came across your master. But I don’t know much about him. I only know that he’s at the peak of the Tribulation Phase, and a celestial tribulation will surely strike within three years. And he doesn’t have a single Tribulation Pill either.” Ye Feng smiled bitterly. “After you learned that he was searching for the Immortal Grass, you also started searching for it secretly, hoping to help your master fulfill his wish.”
“You can deliver the Immortal Grass to your master now to fulfill your own wish. Then, we can start our formal cooperation tomorrow!” Ye Feng hadn’t expected things to go so smoothly. Yue Ming wasn’t angry about him discovering his master’s identity; he had even prepared many excuses to cover up. But now, it seemed completely unnecessary!
After leaving Yue Ming’s residence, Ye Feng kept thinking about the same question: What item should he sell first?
This was their first transaction, so the item he sold couldn’t be too eye-catching, otherwise, interested parties might target him again. On a new planet, he needed to stay low-key. Once he had the strength to protect himself, it wouldn’t be too late to become more prominent! By then, no one would be able to stop him from selling whatever he wanted!
