Chapter 174: A Panda?
As night fell, the dark sky was dotted with stars, with the most prominent features being two full moons in entirely different directions.
Fester Planet had two satellites slightly larger than Earth’s, both orbiting in opposite directions along separate paths. As a result, the two moons rose from different horizons each day and set behind different horizons as well.
Although Ye Feng had noticed this on his first day here, he had never taken the time to carefully observe the scenery along the way.
Ye Feng lay quietly on the grass, while the little creature poked its head out of his arms, gazing at the unfamiliar sky.
“Are you okay?” Situ Xuan also sat on the grass nearby.
Her location was less than a hundred meters away from Ye Feng’s, separated only by a bamboo forest. Lü Guo had deliberately built her new house there to keep distance from Ye Feng.
“Mm!” Ye Feng nodded, holding his head with both hands.
“Do you often enjoy the night sky like this?” Situ Xuan also looked up at the sky.
“Not often. Back in the orphanage, I would occasionally do this! After starting my cultivation, I hardly ever had such a peaceful life. I also didn’t have time to look at the clear sky above…” Ye Feng shook his head with a wry smile and turned to look at Situ Xuan. “Can’t you sleep?”
“In my hometown, no one sleeps since birth…” Situ Xuan forced a smile. “So I learned early on to look up at the sky…”
……
Two days passed quickly. After two days of adjustments, Situ Xuan finally found the optimal formula, which accelerated the repair of Ye Feng’s dantian several times over.
Ye Feng knew that in just a few more days, once his dantian was fully repaired and he could use his Yuan Ying normally, it would be time for him to leave.
That day, just after Ye Feng took the pill prepared by Situ Xuan using the optimal formula, he heard a deep roar from Berry not far away.
He looked at Situ Xuan beside him in confusion. “What happened to Berry?”
In an instant, the two of them appeared beside Berry and Bell.
“What’s wrong with her?” Ye Feng asked Bell, who had stayed by Berry’s side the whole time.
“She has a stomachache. She might be giving birth!” Bell was panicked.
A hint of surprise flashed in Stu Xuan’s eyes as she patted Bailey, who was clutching her stomach and crying. “Bailey, you need to calm down now. Don’t be afraid—your condition might mean you’re about to give birth!”
Hearing Stu Xuan’s voice, Bailey stopped wailing but continued to gasp for breath. Clearly, she was suffering from intense pain.
“Call Lüluo over to help; I need her assistance! Also, takeBell away from here—keep him out of our sight. His restlessness could interfere with Bailey’s delivery,” Stu Xuan said to Ye Feng.
“Okay, you and Lüluo take care of helping Bailey give birth to the baby bear. I’ll try to calmBell down,” Ye Feng replied before nodding and leaving.
Soon, he brought Lüluo over and said toBell, “Bel, leave this to them. It’s not convenient for us to stay here.”
Bel hesitated for a moment before hearing Stu Xuan’s voice again, “Bel, staying here will only hinder Bailey’s delivery. Go with Ye Feng to a place where we can’t see you, and wait for us to tell you that the baby has been born.”
Since Stu Xuan had said so, Bel could only nod in agreement. Though he couldn’t help much, he didn’t want to be a factor that disrupted the birth.
“Push harder, push harder…” From the other side of the bamboo grove, Stu Xuan’s encouraging voice came clearly to their ears.
Bel waited anxiously while Ye Feng stayed by his side.
After what seemed like an eternity, the voice urging him to push finally stopped. Bel pricked up his ears, eager to know if the baby had been born.
“Alright, you two can come over now!” Stu Xuan’s voice reached them clearly.
Bel was overjoyed at this news and rushed toward Bailey like crazy.
Stu Xuan brought the newly born baby over to Bailey so she could see her child.
Bailey gave Stu Xuan a warm smile and gently stroked the newborn with her paw.
At that moment, Bel rushed over and asked Bailey, “I heard no noise here. Are you okay? Has the baby been born…”
“This is our baby…” Bailey pointed to the little one sleeping beside her.
Bel carefully picked up the newborn and held him in his arms, examining him closely.
Ye Feng was speechless. He had never imagined that the little one born from Bailey and Bell would look like this. He felt an urge to shout, “A black bear and a white bear giving birth to a panda… Could it be that pandas have always been like this?”
Yes, Situ Xuan and Lǜluó had never seen what a panda looked like, so they naturally thought it was normal for a black bear and a white bear to give birth to a bear with black and white fur.
But in Ye Feng’s eyes, the newly born little one looked exactly like a panda—white head, black ears, black eye sockets, black limbs, white belly and back…
Ye Feng stared at the little one helplessly, not knowing what to say.
“What’s wrong? Your expression seems strange!” Situ Xuan finally noticed Ye Feng’s odd expression.
“Nothing. I thought after it was born, its fur would be either black like its father or white like its mother. I never expected it to turn out like this…” Ye Feng didn’t say much, knowing that even if he explained, they might not believe him.
“But I think it’s really cute!” Situ Xuan reached out and touched the little one’s fluffy head.
Only Ye Feng couldn’t let it go. No matter how he looked at it, the little one still seemed like a miniature panda…
“I don’t know why, but its aura seems very weak…” Situ Xuan suddenly sensed something was wrong!
