Chapter 123: The Vampires of City H

Dracula narrowed his eyes as he viewed the photos and information sent by Eileen. “Chinese… City H… It seems I have a connection to this place after all… Perhaps that kid can help me find this person…”
He headed straight to the airport ticket counter. “To China, City H!”
After three hours of bumpy flight, the plane landed at City H Airport. Upon disembarking, Dracula made a phone call. “Wang Dong, do you still remember who I am?”
“You are… Lord Count?” came a young voice on the other end, tinged with suspicion. “I sensed your presence just now, but I thought it was just an illusion!”
“Wang Dong, you are the only person in this country to have been initiated by me… I need your help now!” Dracula’s voice was low.
“I’m willing to serve you…” The young man agreed readily.
“I need you to find someone for me. I’ll give you relevant information about him. If nothing goes wrong, he should be in City H. Eight o’clock tonight, Goethe Hotel!” Without waiting for a reply, Dracula hung up.
…
A young man dressed in luxury listened to the busy signal on the phone, shook his head with a wry smile, and hung up. He picked up his glass and took a sip of the red liquid inside. “They say vampires are the most aristocratic race, but I can’t see any aristocratic qualities in this old guy at all.”
“Uncle Ma, cancel the dinner party tonight. I have some matters to attend to!” Setting down his glass, the young man turned to look at a middle-aged man in a suit not far away—his butler, who had raised him since childhood.
“But, young master…” The butler looked troubled.
“If the master disagrees, tell him that if I don’t cancel this party, I’ll be killed!” The young man said casually, as if it wasn’t about him. “Let’s reschedule. I probably won’t have time these days…”
“Young master, this isn’t something to joke about…” The butler’s expression grew even more worried.

“Do I look like I’m joking? If you need the banquet to go on as planned, I definitely won’t be there. To me, my life is far more important than any banquet!” The young man stepped forward toward the butler. After saying that, he passed by him without leaving any room for hesitation. At the entrance to the hall, he paused briefly. “By the way, take me to the Goethe Hotel by 8 p.m. I must get there by then; otherwise, I’ll be killed!”
Hearing this, the butler broke into a cold sweat. Although he often heard such threatening words before, usually his young master would only say, “If I can’t make it by 8 p.m., I’ll kill the driver!”
But today’s threats were all centered around his own life, which made the butler, who had grown up watching Wang Dong, feel somewhat uneasy.
He arranged for a driver as Wang Dong requested and thought secretly about how to deal with his master to delay the banquet…
…
“Count, go ahead, who are you looking for?” Wang Dong asked nonchalantly, fiddling with the glass of red wine Dracula had given him.
“A young man named Ye Feng,” Dracula replied, handing over the information he had just printed.
“Ye Feng?” Wang Dong took the documents and photos Dracula handed over, surprised. “It really is him!”
“You know him?” Dracula frowned slightly.
“Everyone in City H who isn’t human has heard of him. Why are you looking for him?” Wang Dong asked curiously.
“He killed Edward and Angel! What do you think I’m looking for him for?” Dracula’s expression darkened.
“Uncle Edward was killed?” Wang Dong’s face also turned grim. “Why would he do that?”
“I don’t know!” Dracula shook his head.
“Count, I think it’s best to figure things out first. Why would he kill Uncle Edward and Sister Angel? He has no grudges against them—there’s no motive at all,” Wang Dong said, shaking his head gently.
“The neighbors all saw him visiting my castle, destroying its gate, and then leaving,” Dracula believed facts spoke louder than words.
“Count, do you still remember the day you gave me your first embrace?” Wang Dong stared at Dracula.

“I remember, ten years ago, you were not even ten years old. You got lost in an alley and saw me with my wings spread. You asked me to turn you into someone like me. I thought you were a very special child—fearless and possessing wisdom beyond ordinary people. So I accepted your request and turned you into a vampire.” Dracula recalled those events as if they were still fresh in his mind.

“That’s right. Ever since I was five, I realized I was different from ordinary children. I pursued perfection and eternity. I was willing to pay any price to achieve my goals. That’s why I asked you to turn me into a vampire. My motivation was to become a true noble.” Wang Dong raised the glass to his lips and poured the crimson liquid into his mouth. “I think Ye Feng has no motive to kill Edward and Angel. Perhaps your neighbor only saw illusions. If you rush to cause trouble for Ye Feng, you might fall victim to someone else’s schemes.”

“Tell me, where is Ye Feng?” Dracula’s expression darkened as he ignored Wang Dong’s advice.

“Alright, since you insist on going, I’ll tell you. But I must warn you—I don’t know what’s really going on in City H. Many powerful people have arrived recently. Also, there’s a mid-stage Yuan Ying warrior living in the same apartment as Ye Feng. He’s extremely strong; it’s said he once thrashed Nikola. Be careful. As your guide, I don’t want you to die here!” Wang Dong warned him.

“Thank you for the warning. But don’t forget—vampires are an immortal race…” Dracula spoke with disdain.
