Chapter 850: Fight to the End with Him
Surrender!
After much torment, that legendary long sword finally gave in. Once Tianyin paused the sound waves, it slowly drifted toward them, clearly signaling its surrender.
When it was close enough, Tianyin simply reached out and grasped it in her palm. All that remained was to refine it properly.
“Some people are just too good at everything!”
Su Che sighed inwardly. “Back when I tried to subdue the Demon-Slaying Spear, I almost lost my life. Yet Tianyin managed to tame it with just a few words.”
“She’s a Celestial Lord, while you weren’t even an Emperor back then.”
Lao He rarely offered comfort, but this time he did—because he knew Su Che wasn’t truly jealous of Tianyin. In fact, no comfort was needed.
Tianyin held the sword for a moment, felt it, then nodded. “Its power is decent, but it still needs to be reforged. At the very least, it should look better—its current appearance is too ugly.”
That was necessary. Su Che was about to share his thoughts when his expression suddenly changed…
Before he could even warn Tianyin, a figure suddenly appeared from a distance of a thousand miles away.
A living person!
“I’ve encountered a traveler from the Chaos,” Su Che said urgently to Tianyin. “But this person clearly has evil intentions.”
In the Chaos, a distance of a thousand miles meant nothing—it was as if they were right next to each other. The fact that this person appeared so suddenly, without any warning, was extremely rude and dangerous.
From such close range, Tianyin could see clearly that it was a humanoid with very distinct male characteristics. Compared to normal humans, the two most noticeable differences were: it was bare-chested, with dozens of yellow-brown fur stripes running diagonally across its body and face, resembling tiger stripes.
Its arms were also extremely thick, almost as large as its thighs, with palms extending below the knees.
By human standards, its facial features were quite ugly, its body shape resembled that of a gorilla, while its hair and skin resembled those of a tiger demon.
A tiger-skin gorilla?
Undoubtedly, this was a top-tier warrior from another universe, capable of traveling long distances through the Chaos.
What really worried Su Che was that when he detected it from a million miles away using his divine sense, it had arrived here in just an instant.
Not only was his flying speed far beyond his own, but it also proved that his ability to sense in the chaos was superior as well—since he came straight at him without adjusting his direction, indicating that he had detected them from millions of miles away.
The tiger-striped creature stared intently at Tianyin; it seemed that the thick chaos mist couldn’t hinder his vision at all.
Though he was staring at Tianyin, it wasn’t a greedy or lustful gaze—it was filled with fierce hostility. After all, they weren’t of the same race; what humans considered beautiful might be utterly hideous in his eyes.
“Friend, don’t you think it’s quite rude to appear suddenly like this?” Su Che sent a mental message to him.
In the chaos, languages between different universes were incomprehensible, so mental communication was the only option.
“Oooah…”
The tiger-striped creature let out a strange roar and sent the same mental message back to Su Che: “I’m not your friend.”
“Damn!”
Su Che cursed inwardly: “I’ve run into a barbarian who doesn’t even understand the word ‘friend’—it’s just a polite term…”
With no other choice, he continued to communicate mentally: “Alright, if we’re not friends, then what do you want?”
“Those two things from earlier are mine—give them back!”
The creature’s tone was utterly unreasonable and domineering, completely in a commanding manner.
Those two things from earlier?
Su Che couldn’t help but laugh. The iron sword in Tianyin’s hand was originally unowned, so calling it lost by him was barely plausible. But what about the Demon-Slaying Spear?
After laughing, Su Che replied with an equally fierce tone: “Why do you say it’s yours?”
“Give it to me!” The creature roared again, sending a mental message: “If not, you die!”
Clearly, this was a plunderer who showed his thuggish nature right from the start.
Su Che wasn’t polite either and replied directly: “I’m not giving it to you. If you want to fight, then come at me.”
He really hadn’t expected the first traveler he encountered in the chaos to be such a brute—other than the highly honorable merchant god Mordel, he thought those who could travel long distances in the chaos should have at least basic manners. Even the lowest-level bandits in his own universe knew better etiquette than this guy.
Furthermore, Su Che believed that this guy’s true intention was definitely not to obtain the Demon-Slaying Spear and the Long Sword, those two sacred treasures. They were merely treasures, and a traveler like him could easily acquire them in the chaos; he wouldn’t be driven by greed for such things. It was likely just a test to gauge his and Tian Yin’s courage and strength. If they showed weakness and obediently handed over the items, it would most likely only provoke even more excessive demands from him. Seeing Su Che and Tian Yin’s clear wariness, the tiger-patterned monster didn’t attack immediately, still maintaining a fierce demeanor as if choosing whom to devour, remaining motionless for a long time. “Attack,” Su Che urged with a cold sneer. “What are you waiting for?” The tiger-patterned monster didn’t respond, his fierce expression unchanged. “There’s something wrong with this guy,” Su Che thought, puzzled. He communicated with Tian Yin telepathically, “What do you think?” Tian Yin replied, “Since he’s not attacking, let’s ignore him and leave.” Su Che nodded in agreement and led Tian Yin back along their original route. In the blink of an eye, they left the tiger-patterned monster far behind, out of sight. Thinking he would chase after them, Su Che kept a vigilant eye on the rear, only to be surprised again to find that the guy wasn’t following. What was going on? Had they encountered someone who seemed strong on the surface but was actually weak, capable only of intimidating others? Though he thought so, Su Che knew things couldn’t be that simple. Sure enough, fifteen minutes later, Su Che suddenly stopped—because the tiger-patterned monster had somehow circled around to block his path ahead. No hiding! Hiding meant showing fear of him. “Give me the items!” The tiger-patterned monster acted like a madman, still with the same expression and tone. Su Che gritted his teeth and said to Tian Yin, “Attack!” Well, if you won’t act, I’ll act first. It doesn’t matter. “You want this? Then here it is!” The Demon-Slaying Spear flew out, aiming at the tiger-patterned monster. The monster neither dodged nor moved, clearly determined to take the spear strike head-on to his chest. Such behavior was clearly a silent display of contempt for Su Che’s combat strength. At the moment the sharp tip of the spear was about to touch him, Tian Yin emitted a silent, invisible sound wave, striking the tiger-patterned monster first.
The tiger-striped monster’s expression changed abruptly, its yellow-brown fur stripes on its body and face trembling violently. Its bare upper body and surface skin also twisted and distorted like ripples in water—seemingly, some of its defensive skills had been broken by Tianyin’s sonic power.
If that was the case, could it still remain invulnerable and withstand the piercing strike of the Demon-Slaying Spear?
Hiss!
The Demon-Slaying Spear pierced through its body and returned to Su Che’s hands in an instant.
“So fast!”
Su Che and Tianyin exclaimed in unison in their minds. Of course, they weren’t amazed by the speed of the spear, but by the tiger-striped monster’s own speed.
Even with the spear’s flying speed, about to touch its skin, it could still dodge in time, leaving only a lingering afterimage behind. As for itself, it had already vanished from Su Che’s mental detection range in an instant, disappearing without a trace.
Such a speed was far greater than that of the Demon-Slaying Spear—over a thousand times faster than Su Che’s.
“This is bad,” Su Che thought, immediately feeling troubled. “Being haunted by such a guy is definitely a huge problem.”
With such speed, his own attacks couldn’t even reach it. Could Tianyin’s sonic power alone get rid of this erratic and unreasonable creature?
“It’s very troublesome!” Tianyin also found it extremely difficult and transmitted a message to Su Che, “Once he gets tens of thousands of miles away and I can no longer detect him, how can I attack him?”
“Tens of thousands of miles?” Su Che shook his head with a wry smile. In an instant, this guy could cover not just tens of thousands of miles, but even millions or tens of millions of miles.
“The question is, what exactly does this guy want?” Su Che asked Tianyin. “Why would such a powerful being target us? It’s highly unlikely he’d covet a spiritual treasure like the Demon-Slaying Spear. What’s his real goal?”
“How should I know?” Tianyin sent over a gentle eye roll. “I remember someone once boasting that chaos was like a dragon returning to the sea for him. For such a troublesome issue, only you, the divine dragon, can figure out a solution.”
Su Che glared back, thinking, Even at a time like this, he still can’t resist teasing me. How did he become just like Lao He? Am I really that failures? Are the people closest to me all like this around me?
Without wasting more time, the tiger-striped monster zipped back, blocking the way once again, its fierce gaze still fixed on Tianyin’s face.
To Su Che’s even greater surprise, this time, the mental message it sent was: “You, come with me; he’s trash, not worthy!”
“Go to hell!”
Su Che cursed out immediately, while Lao He laughed heartily in the Prison of Immortals: “Well, Master, you’ve thrived in love and battle, undefeated. Today, in this chaos, you’ve finally met a true rival. Clearly, this guy is the kind of domineering type who dares to love and hate fiercely. Look at those arms—so thick and strong, almost as big as your thighs. His competitiveness can’t be underestimated.”
Su Che was furious, his face twisted in anger. It was the first time in his life he had encountered such a situation.
Over the past few thousand years, he had focused solely on cultivation, paying little attention to matters of the heart, and had never experienced jealousy or rivalry. Now, here he was, faced with a gorilla from another universe who had ulterior motives toward Tianyin—something he could never tolerate—and who even called him a waste…
No man could tolerate this. Damn it, who he is doesn’t matter—he’s going to fight him!
