Chapter 92: Birds Flock in Unison

A dense swarm of birds covered the sky like dark clouds, blocking out all sunlight. Entire Hamilton was plunged into darkness as if the end of the world had arrived.
On a normal workday, streets should have been filled with vehicles and pedestrians, but now traffic was completely paralyzed in chaos. People took shelter in their homes, peering out through glass windows at the sky.
The entire city was pitch black.
When the lights of thousands of homes lit up, Hamilton’s residents finally saw what was blocking the sky—a massive swarm of birds flapping their wings incessantly. Their sheer numbers were astonishing.
“What on earth is going on?” This question flashed through the minds of Hamilton’s residents almost simultaneously.
The media covered the event extensively, and videos of it quickly appeared online, filmed by local youths using smartphones and uploaded to video platforms.
Various mystics also learned of the incident right away and used various esoteric theories to explain what was happening, claiming the end of the world was near.
Biologists, on the other hand, rushed to debunk these claims, saying it was just normal bird migration and urging people not to panic, acting like experts.
At the scene of the incident, Nikola and Ye Feng stared in shock at what was happening.
The small creature perched on Ye Feng’s shoulder let out another long cry. The birds in the sky descended like falling meteors, heading straight for Nikola.
Only then did Nikola realize it was Ye Feng’s spiritual beast at work. He was now trapped and unable to escape. Though he knew the birds couldn’t really harm him, the sight of the endless swarm rushing toward him filled him with fear.
The birds formed a huge black tornado in the sky, encircling Nikola completely and blocking his vision.
Ye Feng knew these birds alone couldn’t defeat someone as strong as Nikola; they could only buy him some time.
He quickly slipped into the ancient castle and searched carefully where Nikola had thrown the photon cannon, but found no trace of it.
He grabbed a servant in the castle and demanded, “Where is that gun-like device from earlier?”
The servant shook his head nervously, “I… I don’t know!”

“Speak! If not, I’ll kill you!” Ye Feng threatened, gripping the servant’s throat.
“I really… don’t know!” The servant was on the verge of crying.
“You, gather everyone in the castle right now,” Ye Feng said. Seeing the servant’s state, he realized he must be telling the truth.
With a grim expression, the servant went to a corner of the hall and, under Ye Feng’s watch, reluctantly rang the chime. Soon, servants from the castle gathered in the hall in small groups. Ye Feng frowned—there were less than ten servants in the entire castle.
“Where are the others?” Ye Feng asked the one who had rang the bell.
“They’ve all run away!” The remaining eight stared at Ye Feng in fear.
“Who saw the gun-like weapon that Nikola threw over here?” Ye Feng scanned the nine people present. Seven of them shook their heads, clearly unaware. Only a thin young man hesitated for a moment before shaking his head after noticing the others’ reactions. Such a slight action couldn’t hide from Ye Feng, who was already at the Ningdan stage.
Ye Feng pointed at him. “You, tell me—did you see that thing?”
“It wasn’t me! I didn’t take it…” The thin young man waved his hands frantically, terrified.
“So you know who took it?” Ye Feng stared intently at him, pressing further.
“Just now, Stil and I were sneaking around here to observe outside. We saw the Count throw in a gun-like object. Stil picked it up secretly and then ran away…” the thin young man explained.
“Are you sure you’re not lying?” Ye Feng grabbed his collar and stared into his eyes.
“I’m telling the truth…” The thin young man nodded quickly.
“Good. I have one hundred thousand dollars here. Whoever helps me get that thing will get it! With that money, you won’t have to work as slaves here anymore!” Ye Feng conjured a box out of thin air, opened it, and showed it to the others. “Don’t worry—he won’t shoot you. Only I can use that thing; for others, it’s just junk!”
“Wow!”
“Damn…”
Including the thin young man, five or six people became eager—money was indeed a powerful motivator.
“Anyone who wants to go may go. I just need to see the thing!” Ye Feng closed the briefcase, a smile forming on his lips.

As Ye Feng finished speaking, the six of them rushed out of the castle gate one after another and ran into the distance.
“It seems like you guys aren’t very interested in making money!” Ye Feng looked at the remaining three. “How about this? I’ll give you another chance to make money. Whoever’s willing to take me to Long Yue’s dungeon will get 2,000 dollars!”
Ye Feng took out two banknotes from his wallet and waved them in front of everyone.
The three almost simultaneously shouted, “I’ll go!”
“Alright, then you!” Ye Feng pointed at the man who had knocked on the bell earlier.
Led by that servant, Ye Feng entered the dungeon and saw Long Yue with her limbs tightly locked.
“How do I unlock this?” Ye Feng turned around and asked.
“That machine… can control the lock, but only the count has the key to operate it,” the servant said, pointing to a large machine against the wall in the room, which was currently shut off.
“Damn you, Nikola!” Ye Feng cursed. He knew it would be impossible to rescue Long Yue secretly now.
After handing the two banknotes to the servant, Ye Feng left in a hurry.
Outside the castle, he saw Nikola still surrounded by birds. Ye Feng then went over to Hank and Loli.
Loli, who had been stretching, picked up Hank and placed them by the castle. Ye Feng then went back toward Long Tian.
The moment he touched Long Tian, a powerful electric current pushed him away. Ye Feng frowned slightly—this situation was somewhat similar to when Long Tian had awakened from his slumber.
He turned back into the castle, fetched a basin of cold water, and poured it on Hank and Loli’s faces. They finally woke up and sat there, rubbing their heads.
He went back toward Long Tian and, from a distance, poured another basin of water on him.
Long Tian still didn’t wake up, but his body was now surrounded by electric sparks, making it even more dangerous to approach.
At that moment, the sky gradually darkened, and thunder rumbled in the distance…
The swarm of birds, which had once filled the sky, seemed to be frightened by something and began to scatter…
The small creature on Ye Feng’s shoulder paid no attention to the birds fleeing. Instead, it raised its head and pointed it toward the sky. Although its eyes were still closed, it could sense the unusual changes in the environment…
