Chapter 35: Searching for the Missing Long Tian

“Search for the missing Long Tian and save his life!”
That was all there was in the task box that appeared on the computer screen, leaving Yi Fan and the others confused. “What nonsense is this? Who is this Long Tian, and we don’t even know where he is?”
Ye Feng, however, clenched his fists tightly. Looking at those simple words on the task box, his mood grew heavy. “Has Brother Long encountered trouble?”
“Boss, I refused this task! It’s completely meaningless…” Yi Fan turned to shout at William, then moved the mouse to the dialogue box, ready to refuse it, when a deep voice came from behind him.
“Accept the task!”
Yi Fan turned around and saw Ye Feng, with a serious expression, staring intently at the task box on the screen.
“Do you know him?” Yi Fan asked softly.
“He… is a friend…” Ye Feng’s voice dropped as he remembered how resolute Long Tian had been when he told him to leave.
“Then accept it!” Hearing Ye Feng say that, Yi Fan without hesitation moved the mouse from refusing to accepting the task and clicked confirm.
“It’s a C-level task. It seems only you guys can go this time. Kristin and I can’t join—otherwise, it will be considered a refusal of the task!” William frowned slightly, looking worried. “If that’s the case, Kelly, you’ll need to protect Ye Feng and Yi Fan. Be very careful; there are many strong people in China!”
“Your friend will be fine. Don’t worry! I’ll pray for him and for all of you.” Kristin patted Ye Feng’s shoulder. “It’s just a C-level task. Kelly and Yi Fan have already completed several B-level tasks; it’s no challenge for them.”
“Thank you.” Despite Kristin’s words, Ye Feng still felt uneasy.
“Anyway, be careful. Even a C-level task shouldn’t be taken lightly!” William remained serious. In his experience, this task was definitely not as simple as it seemed. “China is a mysterious country; anything can happen. Moreover, task levels for search missions are just estimates—there are too many variables, and it’s possible the actual level could differ greatly.”

“Boss, don’t worry. We won’t take it lightly. That person is Ye Feng’s friend, and we’ll definitely do our best to complete the mission.” As the team’s chief strategist, Yi Fan was well aware that this mission wasn’t as simple as it seemed. He had initially been reluctant to take on such a task, but since it involved Ye Feng, he had no choice but to get involved. Besides, Ye Feng had already seen this mission; if he refused, Ye Feng might take it on secretly, which he didn’t want to see happen.

Kelly still didn’t say anything. She just glanced at the screen, then at Ye Feng, with an indescribable emotion flashing in her eyes…

The three arrived in City H by evening the next day. Ye Feng led them to a five-star hotel to stay at.

Ignoring Yi Fan, who wanted to play games with him, Ye Feng returned to his room early and lay down on the soft double bed, trying to fall asleep quickly but failing to do so. Out of desperation, he extended his mental energy into the Void Realm.

“Boyi, I don’t know why, but after taking on this mission, I keep feeling like something bad is about to happen. There’s always this sense of unease,” Ye Feng confided to Boyi.

“That might be because worry clouds judgment!” Boyi replied. “Since you don’t want Long Tian to get into trouble, your subconscious worries that he might, which causes the unease.”

“Is that so?” Ye Feng murmured before withdrawing his mental energy from the Void Realm…

“I’m sorry, but I can’t tell you the truth: your sixth sense is predicting that something bad is about to happen…” Looking at the tightly closed door leading out of the Void Realm, Boyi frowned slightly, as if talking to himself. “I hope you can get through this ordeal!”

Early in the morning, Ye Feng got up early. As expected, Yi Fan hadn’t gotten up yet. Kelly, on the other hand, had already gone downstairs for breakfast. Ye Feng walked over to her table. Before he could sit down, Kelly handed him a piece of A4 paper.

Ye Feng took the paper skeptically. It was left for him by Yi Fan:

“No need to wake me up in the morning. I spent some time last night looking up some information for you.

Here’s what happened to Long Tian’s disappearance:

The faction Long Tian belongs to has been in constant conflict with a woman named Zhenzhu over the past few months. Finally, a few days ago, a large-scale fight broke out.”

It is said that many warriors and even those with special abilities were involved in this fight, leaving the scene in complete chaos. As a result of the battle, both sides suffered heavy casualties, and Long Ge disappeared after this incident. The case has been handed over to the Long Group for handling…

The current situation of Long Tian is as follows: 1. His fate is unknown; 2. His whereabouts are unknown—no one knows whether he was kidnapped or rescued; 3. Someone is hunting him down.

Solutions to the problem: Locate Long Tian as quickly as possible, take him to a safe place, or hide him in a concealed location, and find a way to inform the relevant parties to handle the situation.

The person who assigned this task is a retired old butler from the Long family, who has also been secretly helping Long Tian. His situation is not optimistic either—he is in a stalemate with the forces behind Zhenzhu, and any of his moves will be detected by them, so he can only secretly seek our help. Only the task assigner and we can see the assigned task, and given the security of the Hunter’s official website, such information will not be intercepted by the other side.

Ye Feng looked at the information provided by Yi Fan and felt somewhat grateful. He had been wondering what exactly had happened and wanted to go investigate, but Yi Fan already gave him complete details about the situation along with some feasible solutions.

Picking up a piece of bread and taking a bite, Ye Feng said to Kelly, “Kelly, I’m going out for a while. Stay here and protect Yi, who is already asleep!”

Kelly looked at Ye Feng hesitantly, clearly unsure who she should prioritize protecting in such a situation.

“Don’t worry. I’ve been in City H for many years. I’m just going out for a walk—nothing will happen,” Ye Feng said with a smile. “If I accidentally discover something, I’ll call you right away, and then you and Yi can rush over!”

After hearing Ye Feng’s words, Kelly finally nodded in agreement.
