Chapter 29: HUNTER?!

“Hello everyone. My surname is Yi, and my given name is Fan. You can call me Yi Fan or just Yi,” Yi introduced himself, scanning the crowd.
“I happened to pass by my hometown this time, so I decided to stay at your school for a while to share some language learning tips with you outstanding students. It’s also a way to fulfill a wish in my life…”
A long speech followed. After listening for about half an hour, Ye Feng thought that although what Yi said made some sense and most of the tips were useful, the reactions of the people present puzzled him.
This man named Yi Fan wasn’t old, nor did he have much teaching experience. Though many of his suggestions were indeed useful, his teaching style was far from engaging—it was rather dogmatic, listing facts one by one. What surprised Ye Feng even more was that everyone in the audience listened as if captivated, even more engrossed than watching a movie.
Ye Feng narrowed his eyes slightly. “Could this guy be a hypnotist?”
With that thought, he immediately took out his detector and put on the glasses-like device. As soon as he set it to individual detection, he sensed a powerful pressure coming from not far away.
Ye Feng quickly raised his head and saw Yi Fan staring at him coldly.
At that moment, the detector’s readings finally appeared:
Total Combat Value: 424
Strength: 101
Speed: 101
Mental Power: 221
Win Rate: 0%, Death Rate: 97%, Escape Success Rate: 3%
“What!!!” Ye Feng’s pupils shrank violently. It was the first time he’d seen anyone with a single stat exceeding 100. And this man’s every stat was over 100, with mental power reaching a terrifying 221. The 97% death rate made Ye Feng so tense he couldn’t move.
“No, I’ll die like this!!! Move!!” Ye Feng clenched his fists tightly, but his body remained immobile. Seeing Yi Fan’s mocking gaze, he bit his tongue hard. The pain spreading from his tongue to his brain finally snapped him out of his numbness. Ignoring the bleeding tongue, he fled toward the stadium entrance at superhuman speed.
He was only fifty meters from the gate, a distance he could cover in an instant. Just as he relieved himself he’d escaped danger, a dark shadow blocked the exit.

Ye Feng’s heart sank to the bottom. He knew he was likely doomed and tensed up as he stared at the man in front of him, who was about his height.
“It’s not convenient to talk here. Come with me!” Before Ye Feng could react, Yi Fan grabbed his wrist and pulled him out of the gym.
Only when they reached a shaded area on campus did Yi Fan release him. “What’s your name?”
“Who exactly are you? What did you do to my classmates?” Ye Feng countered.
“I’m a HUNTER. I just used group hypnosis on your friends—only that way could I easily find someone with an abnormal mental strength like you. Tell me your name!” Yi Fan said with a smile, hands behind his back.
“Ye Feng!” After hesitating for a while, Ye Feng finally revealed his name.
“After school this afternoon, go to the Royal Hotel. All the answers you want are there… If you want to continue living an ordinary life, you can choose not to go…” Yi Fan handed him a card before disappearing, leaving Ye Feng standing there, staring at the card in confusion.
Before long, the students from the gym started coming out one after another. Ye Feng watched curiously as they seemed completely unaware of Yi Fan’s departure.
Just as Ye Feng was pondering this, Yi Fan came out of the gym, surrounded by girls who were chatting and laughing.
“He disappeared just now—turns out he went back to the gym…” Ye Feng shrugged helplessly.
Back in his dorm, Ye Feng took out the black card. On its front was a few gilded English letters: HUNTER. “Hunter… a hunter?”
He flipped the card over. On the back were silver-colored English words:
Title: Hand of God
Level: Silver
Affiliation: The Judge
“Is this a business card?” Ye Feng fiddled with the strange card in his hand.
“Should I go or not?” Leaning against the folded blanket on the bed, he slowly closed his eyes.
“That Yi Fan is strong enough to kill me instantly, but he didn’t do it. That means he has no intention of killing me. With his strength, he also doesn’t need to scheme against me. If he wants me to go to that hotel, it must be because there’s something to discuss—something that can’t be talked about here at school… It might be worth going…”
Around 5 p.m., Ye Feng checked his watch, left his dorm, and hailed a taxi at the school gate to leave.

“Sir, are you looking for Mr. Yi Fan? Please come this way,” said a waiter who approached Ye Feng as soon as he entered, leading him to the elevator. The elevator stopped on the 18th floor, and the waiter continued to guide Ye Feng to a door, where he knocked. It was opened by a tall foreigner wearing a black trench coat, standing upright. “Ye Feng?” Ye Feng nodded. Then the man handed a bill to the waiter. Only then did Ye Feng realize why the waiter was so enthusiastic—it was a hundred-dollar bill… “Come in!” The man’s pronunciation was a bit strange, but Ye Feng understood him easily. He nodded and entered, after which the man closed the door. In the living room, aside from Ye Feng himself, there were four people: three men and one woman. Apart from Yi Fan, whom Ye Feng had met at school earlier, the others were foreigners. “Let me introduce them! This is Ye Feng!” Yi Fan finally spoke up and said to Ye Feng, “That beautiful Italian is Kelly. This tall guy here is Kristian, from Germany. And this strong man is our boss, William, from the United States! I’m Yi Fan, a Chinese person raised in the U.S.” “You can ask any questions you have; we’ll do our best to give you satisfactory answers.” William was about 1.87 meters tall and built robustly. He wasn’t particularly handsome, but in his thirties, he had more composure and confidence than Long Tian in his twenties. With a full beard, he had a very masculine appearance. Even sitting next to the tall Kristian, his strong presence remained undiminished. “I want to know what your main purpose in bringing me here is…” Ye Feng asked bluntly.
