Chapter 873: Showing True Strength

On the grasslands, the battle between the two armies had come to an end. Not only had the Mongol cavalry and the soldiers from the Central Plains fought to a conclusion, but the rivalry between Yipin Hall and the four major gangs had also reached its end. The camp was now much smaller…
A group of people from the Mu family, who had just completed a mission, came in from outside and happened to encounter Mo Feng, the leader of the Xiyi Gate, leading a group of people along with over three thousand cavalry, hurrying out:
“Leader Mo! Deputy Leader Lin!”
Lei Zhan stopped smilingly to greet them, “Your cavalry forces are becoming even more impressive!”
“Hehe, isn’t Lei family’s force the same? I heard that all the men from the Mu family now have military ranks. We can’t afford to slack off either…”
With bright eyes, Mo Feng and Lin Xiao stepped forward at the same time, “Brother Lei, how was this mission?”
“Enough talk. Today’s battle is probably over as well. Those scoundrels from Yipin Hall were worthless—everyone of them ran away, leaving me with a bunch of people doing nothing…” Though he said this, Lei Zhan’s face was rosy and full of enthusiasm.
The disappearance of Yipin Hall’s men from the grasslands was naturally good news for the Mu family.
“Haha, us too… Besides! The men from Xifeng Tower and Fengyu Alliance expanded their search area but didn’t find any more of Yipin Hall’s troops on the grasslands. I guess they’re really scared and don’t dare come in anymore,” Lin Xiao laughed broadly.
Mo Feng and the people of Xiyi Gate were extremely excited. Ever since Yipin Hall set an ambush at Wanan Temple and nearly wiped out the three leaders of Xiyi Gate, they had always remembered Yipin Hall’s “merits.” However, they had never been able to challenge the deeply entrenched Yipin Hall and never had the chance to take action. Now that they could personally crush Yipin Hall’s might and make them suffer such a heavy loss, they felt incredibly satisfied!
“By the way, where are you heading?”
Lei Zhan smiled and glanced at the groups behind Lin Xiao and Mo Feng.
“Heh, actually, we were just about to discuss this with you,” Mo Feng explained to Lei Zhan. “You see, there are still over ten thousand people from Xiyi Gate, Xifeng Tower, and Fengyu Alliance who don’t have military ranks. The three of us just met and discussed it—we think Yipin Hall might not give up easily and could still take action. So, I plan to take this opportunity to initiate that group mission so that the remaining men can get their military ranks.”
“Oh.”
Lei Zhan nodded.
Mo Feng’s concerns were not unfounded.

After all, the Imperial Edict mission had just begun. Yipin Hall was the dominant force in the north. Now, in front of all the heroes under heaven, 100,000 troops had been driven out by the four major gangs. Not only did they lose face, but more importantly, they lost access to such a massive narrative mission system as the Imperial Edict mission. With Meng Yun’s temperament, he would surely try every means to turn the situation around!
“What about defending the grasslands now that you’ve left?” Lei Zhan asked.
Mo Feng quickly explained, “Brother Lei, don’t worry. I’ve discussed this with Mei Ying and Ye Yu Suifeng. Today, we from the Xiyi Gate will carry out the mission, while they will continue to guard and search the grasslands, ensuring Yipin Hall won’t get another chance to enter… Tomorrow, some members of the Fengyu Alliance will come…”
“That should solve the problem.”
Lei Zhan was immediately relieved. With just a small group left, even if Yipin Hall found out, they might not dare to venture deep into the grasslands…
“Then I wish the brothers of the Xiyi Gate smooth sailing!”
“Smooth sailing!” The people from the Mu family all bowed in farewell…
…
In the direction of the Mongol camp, Yin Hu led 2,000 cavalry, successfully luring out 10,000 Mongol cavalry. They moved like a dragon, circling several miles away from the camp before unleashing a massive force.
Boom!!
The ground trembled!
“Hong Chen!!” Although there were many cavalry this time, without Happy to intercept them, Yin Hu didn’t dare slack off in the slightest. After charging a mile, he loudly called out to Hong Chen to get ready to act.
“He’s coming!!!”
Hong Chen roared angrily, his face red, raising his arms high. The 3,000+ cavalry behind him immediately charged down from the high slopes…
Boom!!!
The cavalry surged forward.
400 elite warriors from the Mu family and the Xiyi Gate mixed among the cavalry and launched a countercharge from the side at the 10,000 Mongol cavalry!
Hong Chen knew today’s situation was different from yesterday. Yesterday, with over 20,000 elite fighters united as one, there hadn’t been much pressure…
But today was different—only 400 elite warriors! 5,000 Central Plains cavalry with inferior combat strength against the Mongol cavalry, and without a master like Happy to disrupt the enemy’s formation, the pressure was immense.
“Remember! Shoot the horses first!”
Hong Chen led the cavalry at the front, charging forward while shouting loudly.
“Roar!!!”
The 400+ elite warriors behind him responded to Hong Chen’s warning in their own way, charging toward the Mongol cavalry like a black steel dragon with high morale.
“Kill!”
Not long after the roar, countless sharp sounds could be heard amidst the thundering hooves!
The Central Plains cavalry raised their shields…

Countless sharp arrows rose from the Mongol army from afar, quickly covering a small patch of sky!
The next moment, over two hundred of the three thousand cavalry led by Hong Chen fell instantly. The shrill neighing of horses and the screams of people continued nonstop.
After just two rounds of arrow showers, no less than five hundred cavalry were killed on this side.
Hong Chen and a group of experts from the shogunate and the Heroic Brotherhood emerged from the front lines, each with a fierce and menacing aura, shouting hysterically, “Kill!!”
Protected by the cavalry around them, they suffered little damage from the arrow showers and remained unharmed.
The experts who survived the two rounds of arrow showers rushed at the Mongol cavalry like tigers freed from their cages!
Boom!!!
Sharp howls blew in their faces, and the bloody blades cut deep into the unprotected areas of the Mongol cavalry, tearing through flesh…
“!!!!” The strong warhorses and valiant cavalry felt a violent gust of wind pass by them, then they lost balance and fell to the ground with shrill cries.
The four hundred elite experts, like tigers charging into a flock of sheep, rushed into the Mongol cavalry with a murderous intensity, unstoppable!
The Mongol army’s charge was completely halted at the first encounter…
Hundreds of corpses of men and horses blocked the path ahead…
Even the cavalry from the Central Plains had to trample over the corpses to advance, fighting their way through the Mongol cavalry’s formation…
Boom!!!
Just as the Mongol cavalry’s charge was completely crushed by the four hundred elite, Yin Hu led two thousand cavalry in a flanking attack from another direction, striking the Mongol cavalry’s flank with full force.
Chaos! It had begun!!!
