Chapter 839: Unexpected System Announcement

“The people from the Mu Family…”
“Happy! It’s Happy! He’s finally here!”
“Over 20,000 points in combat achievements—tsk tsk.”
“Meng Yun and Xue Yi’s achievements have been reset; they’ve dropped from the rankings. It seems Happy did this.”
“Now there’s going to be some interesting action.”
“Everything’s in chaos everywhere. The First-Class Hall and the Mu Family will definitely go to war this time.”
“Heh… I heard that the branches of the First-Class Hall in the Yangtze River region and the border areas are moving troops frequently. It seems these two top gangs won’t have a chance to compete with us for combat achievements anymore.”
“Everyone, seize this opportunity—it’s time for us to earn combat achievements…”

Back at the logistics camp, many players along the way were gloating and discussing the chaos caused by the First-Class Hall. The atmosphere here was tense, filled with unrest. However, few members of the First-Class Hall could be seen…

With the deaths of Meng Yun and Xue Yi, over 4,000 elite members of the First-Class Hall were sent back to Aru City. It seemed as if they had vanished—none of them in sight.

A large group from the Mu Family arrived at the logistics camp and headed straight to one of the two main centers for exchanging combat achievements…

“Oh, it’s Young Hero Happy. Your combat achievements are truly remarkable. I’ve long admired you…”

The imperial general in charge of issuing combat achievement tasks near the rankings looked solemn, clearly admiring the young man before him. “Are you here to check your achievements?”

“No, I’m here to submit a task.”

Happy without hesitation took out the first task he had received—a meticulously drawn military map of the area near the enemy camp.

“Perfect!”

The imperial general quickly took the map and his eyes lit up with seriousness and excitement. “Young Hero Happy, you actually penetrated so deep into the enemy camp! This is a detailed map of the area around their camp! With this map, our army can accurately determine the locations of the enemy’s scouts and patrol cavalry, ensuring safer movement of our troops.”

“This map is incredibly valuable! It will be of great help to us! I will definitely recommend you to the imperial court for commendation!”

As he spoke excitedly, his eyes suddenly widened. “Unbelievable! This… Young Hero Happy, you even managed to gather information about the enemy’s strategist, Zhao Deyan…” The rest of his words were beyond Happy’s expectations.

Information about Zhao Deyan?

Happy was slightly surprised. “When did I collect that? How come I didn’t know? Could it be that the reconnaissance task also included a hidden function for gathering intelligence?”

Just as he spoke, he suddenly stopped! While lost in thought, the imperial general turned around in a hurry and strode quickly into the tent behind him!
This scene left those in the main tent who were preparing to assign or receive tasks looking at each other in shock, their eyes fixed on Kai Xin in awe.
Before long…
A loud announcement spread throughout the task area!
“By the grace of heaven and the emperor’s decree, the heroic figure from Gusu, the man in blue, ‘Kai Xin’, undertook a highly dangerous reconnaissance mission behind enemy lines. Despite countless obstacles, he successfully created a detailed topographic map of the enemy camp! He returned safely to the main camp, earning great military merits! The marshal has granted him permission to remain in the army, promoted him to the rank of battalion commander, and awarded him 5,000 points in combat merit!”
Hearing this system announcement, Kai Xin was completely stunned.
The reconnaissance mission only awarded 1,000 points in merit—seemingly not even completing all the milestones, as the supply routes hadn’t been identified.
Who would have thought he’d get the rank of battalion commander and an additional 5,000 points in merit?!
What a joke!
Was this a mistake?
Puzzled, Kai Xin quickly took out his task log to check…
Upon looking, he finally understood what was going on.
Before encountering the “Demonic Marshal” Zhao Deyan, the topographic map had already been completed. But starting from the entry in the task log indicating the encounter with Zhao Deyan, the map continued to be refined—what was once rough became detailed, and information about Zhao Deyan’s actions, strength, and background was gradually recorded.
The system occasionally notified him that preliminary information about the Demonic Marshal “Zhao Deyan” had been collected… then detailed intelligence was obtained; as Zhao Deyan displayed astonishing strength, even remaining unharmed under the “Three Dragon Sword Energies”, highly confidential information about him was eventually gathered…
At this point, Kai Xin began to grasp it.
It seemed that when encountering enemy generals during the mission, the difficulty level automatically increased, and information about those generals was automatically recorded, allowing for merit rewards—of course, provided one returned alive with the intelligence.
Although the battle with Zhao Deyan was disastrous, ending in a hasty retreat, it now seemed he hadn’t gained nothing after all.
An ordinary military map had turned into a valuable topographic map; his rank had risen many times over.
Phew!
As Kai Xin gradually sorted out his thoughts, the tent flap was lifted, and the imperial general stepped out quickly, his face red, with empty hands—obviously, the map had already been handed in.
“Youthful hero Kai Xin!”

“The appointment as marshal has been made. Due to the great value of this map, we’ve decided to promote you to the rank of battalion commander!”
Ding!
System notification:
“You have obtained the rank of battalion commander!”
Before the sound of the notification faded, the imperial general spoke again, “Additionally, the top-secret information you brought about the enemy’s military advisor, the ‘Demon Marshal,’ must be kept confidential as per the marshal’s orders. Therefore, you’ll receive an extra 5,000 combat points as a reward…”
Ding!
The system notified again:
“You have received 5,000 combat points!”
“You have received a 5,000-point reward!”
“Happy Young Master—no, I should call you Captain Happy. You now have a total of 33,445 combat points. You can go to that camp to exchange them for the training materials you need, or recruit soldiers of various ranks under your command from General Kong… I’m sure you’ll be very satisfied.”
Having received the rank of battalion commander, Happy was overjoyed and immediately thanked the imperial general before heading without hesitation to the adjacent camp.
Since the task related to becoming a battalion commander had been triggered ahead of schedule, he decided to exchange for a cavalry battalion right away and carry out the planned cavalry harassment mission sooner.
“The third battalion commander!”
“Good heavens, look at the combat points ranking! Happy’s points have increased by 10,000, reaching 30,000!”
“…Huh, over 33,000. It seems Happy is planning to recruit a full cavalry battalion… As for Langya, who was the first to become a battalion commander, he only has one squadron of cavalry right now!”
By this time, the players around were utterly shocked and buzzing with discussion.
Seeing Happy head to the nearby camp to exchange combat points, they became extremely excited and flocked after him…
A large group of experts from the Mu family, including Silver Fox and Thunder Battle, rushed over upon hearing the news.
