Volume 4: The Revelation Unveiled Chapter 477: Return of Yin and Yang
The sky was high and the sun bright, its rays glaring. Through the white light cast by the God-Slaying Circle, Wang Yu clearly saw a peculiarly shaped monkey with ears as large as wheels descending from the sky.
He had never seen this monkey before, but thanks to the unique sensitivity of the Creation Divine Monkey, Wang Yu knew it was the Yin-Yang Divine Monkey. Where had Yin and Yang been? How could they appear in the sky now?
But there was no time to ponder further. Wang Yu was already held tightly in the arms of the Yin-Yang Divine Monkey. A familiar scent, long absent for tens of thousands of years, wafted toward him. At the same time, he was astonished to find that Yin and Yang’s cultivation level far surpassed his own.
That once powerless pilgrim, that noble and handsome Tang Dynasty monk, had now transformed into the delicate yet domineering Creation Divine Monkey. To others, the Yin-Yang Divine Monkey might seem like an ordinary monkey, far less pleasing than Tang Seng. But to Wang Yu, this was the most natural thing in the world.
The Yin-Yang Divine Monkey handed the God-Slaying Circle to Wang Yu and said, “The Sword of Exterminating Immortals—not bad!”
Wang Yu nodded. He knew that Tang Seng’s body had been taken away by the Kunpeng back then. Clearly, the Kunpeng had bestowed a great fortune upon the Yin-Yang Divine Monkey, so there was no need to ask further about the details. Yin and Yang had awakened and remembered everything from the past. He had been born many years earlier in the chaos, so there was nothing left to say.
Yin and Yang asked Wang Yu, “Why was this circle flown so high?”
Wang Yu replied, “It wasn’t my choice. Someone else threw it up there.”
Yin and Yang’s eyes widened as he asked, “Who? Was it Buddha?”
After thinking for a moment, Wang Yu nodded. Although the white jade palm was not Buddha himself, it was controlled by him.
Yin and Yang pulled Wang Yu and descended rapidly until they reached the side of the Creation Furnace. There, Wu Zhiqi and the four Divine Monkeys of Wind stood guard. Without a doubt, Yuan Shi was inside the furnace, refining it.
When these four saw the Yin-Yang Divine Monkey, they were all stunned. It was Wind who reacted first, letting out a sharp cry filled with immense joy.
The five Divine Monkeys surrounded Yin and Yang and began asking questions all at once. Yin and Yang smiled but remained silent. After listening for a while, he narrowed his eyes and said, “You’re so noisy!”
The five Divine Monkeys were taken aback before bursting into laughter. Yin and Yang asked, “Where has Wukong gone?” The five Divine Monkeys pointed downward together. Yin and Yang said, “Keep watch over this furnace. I’ll go look for Wukong.” As they watched Yin and Yang’s figure vanish in an instant, their hearts surged with excitement, unable to calm down for a while.
The Creation Divine Monkeys were finally gathered together in this world once again.
A group of experts surrounded the ninth layer of Kunlun Immortal Island, but were all at a loss. The Qilin tried and was trapped inside the city, and Guanyin’s willow branch also failed to achieve anything. The Kai Ming Beast’s eyes were not aimed at humans but at the power of creation itself. Among those present, who could use any magical spells without relying on that power of creation?
At this moment, Wukong asked Xuan Nu, “Has Ni Li also been trapped in this city?” After a brief thought, Xuan Nu understood Wukong’s intention. Among these people, aside from herself and Wukong, the others knew nothing about the power that counteracted creation. What Wukong meant was that the Kai Ming Beast could not only overcome the power of creation but also counter it.
This was truly strange. For tens of thousands of years, there had only been the power of creation in this world, with no such thing as a counter-creation force. The Queen Mother had long ordered Lu Wu to raise the Kai Ming Beast. Could it be that she possessed foresight, knowing that Buddha would use the counter-creation force to dominate the world?
No, that was impossible! If the Queen Mother had such plans, she wouldn’t have died so easily. Moreover, given her abilities, she was merely a puppet harboring illusions.
Since it wasn’t the Queen Mother’s doing, it must have been a coincidence. Ancient divine beasts often had many extraordinary traits and unique abilities. The Kai Ming Beast had always remained obscure, far less well-known than beasts like Taotie, Shangyang, and Bai Ze, yet it turned out to possess such extraordinary powers.
Xuan Nu thought for a long time but couldn’t figure it out. She said to Wukong, “It seems no one can explain the powers of the Kai Ming Beast.”
Wukong smiled and said, “In my opinion, these strange beasts don’t seem to belong to this world.”
“You mean… the ability to counteract the power of creation?”
Wukong nodded. “Exactly!”
Xuan Nu replied, “Not necessarily. Perhaps the Kai Ming Beast itself doesn’t even know what the counter-creation force is; it might just be a coincidence.”
Wukong said, “That’s not right. Haven’t you heard that all things in the world complement and counterbalance each other? Wherever poisonous substances exist, there must be antidotes. If the Kai Ming Beast has never seen the counter-creation force, how could it have such an ability?”
Xuan Nu was stunned. What Wukong said made some sense, but she couldn’t think of anything to refute it right away.
Wukong continued, “The Queen Mother probably only knows this much. Otherwise, if she led thousands of Kai Ming Beasts to attack Qi Tian Ling, what do you think would happen?”
Xuan Nu thought for a moment and said, “The Jade Emperor and Queen Mother may be ambitious, but compared to Buddha, they are merely those who seek to maintain the status quo. They think that by focusing solely on perfecting the heavens, they can succeed. That’s an overly naive idea.”
Wukong said, “I find it incredible that Lu Wu can control so many monsters by himself. Let me give it a try!”
Xuan Nu said, “It’s not Lu Wu’s ability. The Kai Ming beasts have been trained for tens of thousands of years; whenever someone invades the Ninth Layer of Zeng City, they attack on their own. This is probably why the Queen Mother dares not send them into the world.”
Wukong was about to get up when he stopped again and murmured, “This is tricky.”
By now, the qilin had landed on the ground. Although its physical body made it immune to the Kai Ming beasts’ attacks due to its Tai Yi Jin Xian cultivation, landing meant it would surely suffer from their claws and teeth. How could it tolerate such humiliation?
At that moment, Hou Yi reached into his arrow quiver and took out a black feathered arrow. He nocked it and drew his bow with movements that seemed almost illusory. Before anyone could see clearly, a Time Arrow had already entered Zeng City!
Wherever the Time Arrow went, everything came to a halt. Countless Kai Ming beasts stared wide-eyed, frozen in place. Even the qilin’s body hovered in midair. Wukong grew anxious—this Time Arrow possessed extraordinary power. Even if he leaped over, he would still be controlled by its magic and unable to do anything.
Hou Yi quickly shot two more arrows. The first was strange—its tip had a hook—and it was aimed at the qilin. As it approached the qilin, it circled around and pulled it back. The second arrow flew straight into the city, disappearing without a trace.
Using the secrets of the Xuan Kong technique, Wukong saw clearly that this arrow was aimed at Lu Wu in the center of the city. With the force of wind and thunder, it reached within less than a hundred feet of Lu Wu in an instant. Just then, the power of the Time Arrow faded, and a loud roar came from inside the city. Wukong saw the feathered arrow suddenly stop and fall to the ground.
It was a pity!
Hou Yi’s divine arrows couldn’t even affect Lu Wu. This was partly because Lu Wu was too far from the city gates, but the Time Arrow’s effect lasted only for a moment. If it could be extended even a little longer, Hou Yi would be invincible!
Hou Yi was also quite disappointed. Shaking his head, he said, “Too far!”
Yet these three arrows weren’t in vain—at least they pulled the qilin out. After landing, the qilin said in a dazed voice after a while, “This is really strange!”
Everyone was helpless. So many experts, facing just a group of Tai Yi Jin Xian-level beasts, were at a loss—it was a complete embarrassment.
Just as everyone was racking their brains for a solution, a clear voice called from the sky, “Wukong! Wukong!”
Hearing the voice, Wukong didn’t know who it was. Suddenly, a familiar yet strange feeling surged through his heart—extremely comforting and warm. He jumped up in ecstasy and cried, “Yin Yang is back!”
Xuan Nu was stunned for a moment before also breaking into a smile. With yin and yang returning to their proper state, it was naturally due to the guidance of the Kunpeng, from which she had gained greatly. Now that all seven divine apes were gathered, the world would surely become lively from then on.
Wukong went up to meet them and saw a delicate little monkey shoot over like lightning. Upon reaching Wukong, it grabbed his hands but couldn’t say a word.
Wukong stared at the little monkey, his mind in chaos. No matter what, he couldn’t associate this monkey with that handsome monk Tang Seng with the large ears. Yet, the connection between divine apes was unerring—this monkey was indeed the Yin-Yang Divine Ape! The Kunpeng was truly transcendent and unfathomable; he had restored the Yin-Yang Divine Ape, who had lived as a human for ten lifetimes, to its true form. How could such a thing be achieved by human effort? And that Tang Seng would likely never appear in this world again.
Unexpectedly, the Yin-Yang Divine Ape smirked mischievously, transformed, and a handsome monk from the Eastern Land stood in midair, smiling at Wukong and saying, “Call me Master!”
Wukong nearly fainted. In his mind, Tang Seng was a very serious and cautious monk—how could Yin-Yang be so mischievous? It infuriated him.
At that moment, a person floated down from the ground and stood beside the Yin-Yang Divine Ape, saying softly, “You’re back.”
The Yin-Yang Divine Ape glanced over and saw that it was Guanyin Bodhisattva. A flash of hatred passed through his eyes as he said coldly, “Guanyin Bodhisattva, your white robes are now black.”
Guanyin didn’t explain but simply smiled and said, “It’s good that you’re back.”
Wukong hurriedly explained, “This is not Guanyin Bodhisattva under the Buddha but the Great Guanyin who cares for all sentient beings.”
Yin-Yang naturally didn’t doubt Wukong’s words. Though he didn’t know what had happened during this time, after taking a close look at Guanyin, he bowed and said, “May Guanyin show mercy.”
Wukong pulled Yin-Yang aside and asked, “Where have you been? How did you acquire such powers?”
Yin-Yang shook his head with a bitter smile and said, “To be honest, I don’t know where I was. I just woke up and returned to my original ape form. Strangely, I can now also transform into Tang Seng’s appearance at will.”
“What? A second true form?” Wukong exclaimed.
Yin-Yang asked, “What is a second true form?”
Wukong replied, “Can you use supernatural powers now?”
Yin-Yang thought for a moment, stretched out his hands, and on each of his ten finger tips, which were as white as jade, a colored bead formed. Wukong took a close look at the ten beads and was shocked. He thought Yin-Yang’s powers had only grown stronger, but he never expected the Yin-Yang Divine Ape to be this formidable!
Upon closer inspection, these ten colored beads depict flowers, plants, trees, floating clouds, and the sun—all present within them. With a single wave of his hand, the Yin and Yang divine ape seemingly created ten entire worlds!
