Chapter 31: A Battle That Shook the World (14)

It was the first time Komer had truly witnessed Caesar’s true strength—ability to counteract the gathering power of destructive elements. This nearly shattered the barrier between magical and martial powers; even the two greatest sword saints on the road might not possess such overwhelming force!
This was true power that defied the heavens!
The dark green Demon Hand snaked forward with the speed of a serpent, wrapping tightly around Noroya’s body in the blink of an eye. The roots on the vines seemed to detect something, swelling rapidly as they writhed like locusts, clinging to Noroya’s body and trying to penetrate it.
Noroya’s gaze sharpened slightly, her body trembling faintly. A layer of misty light emerged from her body, like boiling water melting snow. The vines, which had been fierce moments ago, suddenly lost their vitality and wilted. With a gentle press from Noroya’s finger, a silver-white flame spread rapidly along the vines, instantly transforming into a blazing silver holy fire.
Amidst the scorching noises, the Demon Hand writhed like a struggling giant serpent. Yet the holy flame from the heavens was utterly devastating to dark monsters. In just a few breaths, the Demon Hand turned into blackened charcoal.
Sathima’s dragon spear finally approached Caesar. The fierce dragon power infused in the spear generated an unstoppable spear energy that rushed straight at Caesar. Even the composed Caesar couldn’t help but frown slightly. This dragon knight already possessed such formidable strength before transforming—should he truly take on dragon form, his power would be far beyond underestimation.
Sathima slightly raised her spear and flicked it, turning her fierce strike into nothingness. With a sudden shock, she twisted mid-air, her overused dragon spear snapping back gracefully. The force of that pull combined with her own momentum created a fierce counterattack that swept toward Caesar’s position!
Caesar realized that if he didn’t teach this arrogant dragon knight a harsh lesson, he might truly dare to bully the Holy Church. He gently raised his spear. Originally holding it with both hands, Caesar released his left hand and held it with one, then swiftly ejected himself as the fierce strike neared.
Dragon spear versus knight’s spear!

A dull yet earth-shattering impact—as majestic and powerful as the light combat energy clashed with the cold and domineering ice dragon force. For the first time, these two utterly different forces collided head-on. The intense force of the impact caused the entire spatial realm to distort and blur, with crackling black streaks spreading outward in all directions.

Even with Caesar’s exceptional martial skills and Shatima’s unparalleled prowess, they were forced to fly desperately to avoid the spatial rifts capable of transporting anything to another dimension. The extraordinary collision generated immense power—nothing could withstand such divine force.

Mihajic finally activated the two metal golems. He knew this battle was crucial for the fate of entire Nicomedia, as well as the survival of the entire group. Though he understood that the two metal golems had little chance against a strong warrior like Caesar, he had no other choice under these circumstances.

The towering metal golems accelerated suddenly. After skillfully dodging the spatial rifts created by Shatima’s ice dragon force and Caesar’s light combat energy, they charged forward boldly, leaping straight at Caesar with their arms spinning like two rapidly rotating machines.

At the same time, the smaller modified golem dropped to the ground in a brilliantly executed ambush. Its agile body glided forward like it was skating on ice, with its triangular blades transforming into two beams of white light that struck at Caesar’s lower body.

With a swift draw of his knight’s spear, the two beams of white light collided with the green shadow. With a resounding clang, the metal golem was sent flying five meters away. If Mihajic hadn’t already replaced its joint parts earlier, the golem would likely have been shattered in that strike.

Yet the metal golem clearly withstood this test. Although some parts of its body showed signs of metal fatigue, thanks to Mihajic’s timely use of a stabilization magic scroll, its weakened body quickly returned to normal. The two triangular blades flashed again as they launched attacks from the flanks.

Caesar’s expression grew increasingly stern. The metal golem attacking head-on was clearly far stronger than the one that had launched the sneak attack earlier. Its fierce, diverging weapons could even adopt various attack patterns. Though it was unlikely to pose a real threat to him, it still drained his focus, preventing him from concentrating on eliminating each enemy separately.

Caesar had a premonition that the guy who seemed to be constantly casting attack spells must have other tricks up his sleeve. It was unlikely he would simply try to knock himself out with magic—such stupidity wouldn’t be his style.

Cormer was also pondering whether now was the best time to release the Bear. He didn’t want the Bear to be hurt by Caesar, but if a fine specimen like the Bear hesitated to act out of fear of injury, it would defeat the purpose of his efforts to train it.

Having made up his mind, Cormer didn’t hesitate any longer. A series of spells were chanted, filling the air with a deep, dark aura. The Bear immediately leaped forward, moving with lightning speed to dodge Caesar’s fierce gaze. Then, it changed into a strange pose mid-air, arms outstretched, before diving at Caesar.

“A necromorph? Damn it, Cormer! You’re desecrating the honor of the nobility! Such scum will never be tolerated on the Land of Azure!”

Startled, Caesar flew into a rage. Though he realized that this necromorph summoned by Cormer was different from ordinary ones—the agile physique and eerie gaze clearly indicated its uniqueness as a necromantic assassin—necromorphs were still necromorphs. Eternal existence without a soul was a corruption of life! As a guard of the Church of Light, he would never allow such existence!
