Chapter 653: The Calamity of Deification (3)
As the Sun Elf Archer absorbed power to transform it into divinity, the battle between Hell and the Abyss intensified.
With three legendary warriors on the demon side falling shortly after appearing, the demi-god warriors of the Abyss could no longer remain idle and began to take action. Naturally, the demi-god warriors of Hell would not stand by and let the demons kill their own allies.
Hell had thirteen demi-gods and hundreds of legends, practically deploying all its forces. The Abyss, on the other hand, had fewer demi-god demons—only seven—but one of them was a demon lord at the newly ascended godly level, making the two sides roughly evenly matched.
However, no one knew how many more demons awaited in the Abyss, putting Hell at a severe disadvantage.
Due to their innate physical limitations and recent ascension, the human demi-gods were weaker than the demi-god demons in terms of combat strength, but they had the advantage of true immortal divine fire. Four of the five human demi-gods paired up and faced the two strongest demi-god demons in the battle: the Balor Flame Demon and the Six-Armed Snake Demon.
The remaining human demi-god joined forces with the two other demi-god demons to confront the strongest of them all, the Fireburning Demon Lord, while the other six demi-god demons fought against the remaining six demi-god demons.
Although Hell had a numerical advantage, defeating such powerful opponents would not happen in a short time.
The demon warriors also had their own concerns—they dared not venture too deep into Hell’s realm to avoid being suppressed by its powerful rules and defeated by their enemies. Moreover, if the King of Hell intervened, none of the demons present could match him.
Thus, a tug-of-war ensued between the high-ranking forces of both sides, while the battles below the Golden rank were one-sided. With the addition of strong warriors from the main world, Hell’s forces pushed the demons back steadily, suffering few losses.
In the end, the outcome would depend on the high-ranking forces above the legendary level. Even if they wiped out all of the enemy’s lower-tier forces, if their own demi-god warriors were killed, they too would face defeat.
Just then, a powerful fluctuation in the laws suddenly appeared from Hell’s side, distracting even the godly warriors engaged in battle.
It turned out that the Sun Elf Archer, Xueflas, had successfully created a perfect divine body. Feeling still strong and well-prepared after years of preparation, he decided to push further and directly attack the demi-gods.
The moment the spark of divinity ignited, the rules began to fluctuate on their own. This was a situation that could not be hidden, no matter how hard one tried. All beings present realized that this legendary elven archer was kindling divine fire to challenge the immortal demigods. Naturally, the demons did not want another demigod to join the forces of hell, but since none of the demons there could act, a demigod demon from the first layer of the Abyss flew in from afar, laughing maniacally as it headed toward the hellish forces. Seeing another demigod demon appear in the Abyss, most of the powerful beings on the hellish side paled. Only those legendary demigods who were aware of the situation remained unbothered. Before the demigod demon could even reach the battlefield, a blue-black square wooden whip appeared out of thin air and smacked its back with a crack. Before the ferocious demigod demon could react, its body stiffened. Then, with a flash of divine light, both the demon and the whip vanished. This mysterious strike shocked all who were watching. “Zareel, Baltzu, why aren’t you two acting?” The Fire-Forged Demon Lord, who was fighting against two demigod demons, shouted sharply toward the back. The people on the hellish side were surprised at first, but more importantly, they felt relieved and excited—having such mysterious powerhouses on their side, they no longer feared even an influx of demigod demons! The two demon lords from the Abyss, however, felt some pressure. “To control a demigod demon with just one strike, one’s strength must be at least at the lower god level!” Moreover, that divine artifact was extremely powerful. Both of them were lower god-level demon lords without any powerful divine artifacts, and they doubted they could have any chance of winning in a one-on-one fight against such a foe. The other female demon lord nodded and said, “If it’s that King of Hell, then our plans need to change.” Both of them were lords of the lower layers of the realms, sent to fight against hell at the urging of the Abyssal will. The demons fighting in the field were all subordinates summoned by these two demon lords from their own realms. As for the lower-layer demon lords, including those in the first layer, they merely responded to the Abyssal will by sending some of their demons to assist, without stepping in themselves. Clearly, those lords knew that it was no easy feat for hell to successfully break free from the deeper layers of the Abyssal world.
Only these three lords, who were not doing as well as they had hoped, were blindly attracted by the rewards offered by the Will of the Abyss. Believing that a mere plane could never stand against the Endless Abyss, they mobilized most of their forces to attack Hell, unaware that they were merely the first to suffer the consequences. After discussing it, the two other demon lords decided that together, even if the King of Hell had reached the strength of a lower god, they still had a chance to fight and it was worth taking the risk. So they joined forces and headed toward the battlefield. Upon seeing the appearance of these two demon lords at the level of true gods, Astimos’ voice appeared in Donald’s ear, explaining their backgrounds. One of these demon lords was named Zareel, appearing as a noble and majestic human woman. The other was Baltzu, who looked like an extremely obese human man, but with a stretched face and dark green skin, constantly emitting hissing and popping sounds, displaying a sickly elegance that made it clear to any creature that he was certainly not human. Compared to Zareel’s nobility, Baltzu’s sickly elegance seemed highly artificial, especially since he wore an ill-fitting military uniform adorned with a dozen medals and ribbons. His bulky frame turned what should have been a dignified uniform into something awkward, resembling a sack. As demon lords, they were generally beyond the bounds of ordinary demon races, so such appearances did not arouse suspicion among those present. For example, the true form of the Destroyer Lord resembled a giant, violent chimpanzee, but its limbs were like evil tentacles, completely unlike any demon race. The Fallen Lord also took the form of a handsome human, similar to but not quite a succubus. As for Okus, the Lord of the Undead, he fit the typical demon appearance, but he had taken a different path by entering the realm of death, no longer being a pure demon lord.
